Pressley is a genius with rare tactical acumen. We are so lucky to have him.
Only 9 points off promotion now with still more than half the season remaining to catch up. Give the man a pay rise.

We would be top and miles clear had we won every previous week.

Only 9 points off assuming none of the teams currently in the play-off spots get any more points. Of course, while we get points so will they.

Yes, it won't take three wins to close the gap. It will take 9 wins back-to-back.

73-74 points is the usual benchmark for 6th place, it's better to forget the 9 point gap and concentrate on accumulating the 53-54 points from the remaining 28 games. If by a miracle we bridge the gap it's very likely we won't get into the top 6 until the last 4-5 games of the season.

53-54 points = c1.9 point per game, pretty much automatic promotion form from here on in.

Just need to concentrate on getting into the top half for the new year and then buckle down and see what happens

A team going on a run for example of 8+ games unbeaten would probably close the majority if not all of that gap.

I had a dream that we did not lose again in 2014.. unfortunately I can't remember if it was because of the sparkling football we played, or if the snow from the US came over and buried the stadium.

Not if that unbeaten run was 8 draws.

The problem is you go on a decent run you pull away from the bottom 6, make headway though the midtable because by the very nature they're not teams that pick up a lot of points. Closing a 9 point gap with the top 6 isn't that easy, as they will be teams also going on decent runs, and picking up points. For all that phenomenal form we went on with robin, when we were picking up c1.8 point per game, it was never enough to push us into the top 6.

The Indication of a fairly major reshuffle In Jan doesn't necessarily bode well for a sustained run ,with bedding In getting up to speed etc .

Would have to be seamless transition .

This emphasis on 9 points does tend to ignore the form and results of other teams. Not to mention the effect of us playing those other teams. Not sure I would be confident of beating any of the top six and CCFC being CCFC you just know they will drop silly points against teams near the bottom

Nothing so far this season has suggested that the squad we have has the necessary depth or consistency to put together form till the end of the season that equates to an average of 2 points per game. Not saying it can not be done but I just don't see much evidence of it.

If there are to be whole sale changes coming in January, then I think it will be on the basis of on the cheap - it has been for the last few transfer windows what has changed in the clubs financials that is going to improve that? But as is said above such changes will need time to bed in and to play the "Coventry way" whatever that is. Plus there are 5 games to go before any changes can be made so we are reliant on the players deemed not good enough until then or at the mercy of injuries or suspensions in a small squad

Yes we are 9 points behind the playoffs and to break in to the playoffs we will have better the performance of the likely contenders above us. Do we look like doing that. Yes we won Saturday but overall this season with the exception of the odd half hour here and there our form and standard of play has been poor and dull. That in a League 1 that is pretty poor in itself. Should always aim for the top but right now I would like the stability of not looking over our shoulder at the bottom!

Things may also become a little clearer when the teams in 4th 5th and 6th catch up games this week. We could be further away after that.

At the momenT or so far this season we are averaging 1.11 points per game , we are looking at finishing on 51 points if things dont change , so yes il be getting the bubbly ready for may

Do we really want to get in the play-offs anyway? If we do, we are sure to lose and then the disappointment will be immense. Like a man serving a 20-year sentence being given a pardon and then being told it was all a mistake and he has to serve out his sentence. No, for me it's automatic promotion or nothing. However, I still say it's more likely to be another relegation struggle than anything else.

Yes, it would be a huge confidence boost to all fans if we had a nice little run and got into the play-off picture..

Even if we didn't make it to Wembley at least it would be a bit of confidence going into next season, I still believe we can as the league is so condense and anyone can pick up a result, we shouldn't right it off, I think the best thing that could happen is that we beat Bristol and get into the area final of the JPT, a final would create confidence for the players, Club and the fans..

Beating Bristol City is huge, could improve the mood of the players, fans and management massively.

if that involves a clause where we can sack him for less money if we go on another terrible run I would be delighted.
