Wasps are delighted to invite our loyal supporters to an open day at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday 7th December.
Fans will have the opportunity to look around Wasps' new home and view the seating bowl.
There will also be an opportunity to explore the new hospitality suites, as well as some of the additional facilities on site at the Ricoh Arena.
Complimentary lunch will be served from 1.00pm and fans will have the opportunity to ask management any further questions they may have about the move. We expect proceedings to be finished at approximately 3.30pm.
We will be running free return coach transfers from High Wycombe rail station, Maidenhead rail station and Hillingdon tube station.
Coaches will depart from all locations at 11.00am.

No, they want to keep both under their thumb. Not in Wasps' interests for CRFC to emerge as a serious competitor, not in their interests to have CCFC strong enough to leave the Ricoh.

That's down to the RFU setting the dates like the FA/FL set ours. Like us they have absolutely no say in when they play their games, WASPs only play on a Sunday because of the ground share (no clashes with Wycombes FL+Cup commitments) and to be on TV.

I answered my local club as Kerseley Ladies on a Sunday.
Like most people I like to watch games at the local level and at the top level.
It doesn't stop me watching, and enjoying MOTD because I support CCFC.
Similarly although I'm not a keen rugby fan I do like watching the internationals.
As I said I watch my local ladies Rugby team but I would not watch it if my daughter wasn't playing.
Similarly if my daughter was playing I would not be attending a Wasp match.
I know she is not playing at the first match because like most local teams they have been given cheap tickets. (Now she tells me :facepalm: )
Can't say about CCFC, but CRFC will likely be stronger with Wasps around. It probably won't be enough for them to be threatening the premiership, but solid championship will definitely be the aim.

I live less than a mile from the Ricoh so that has a huge bearing as I can just walk up.
Probably why I like a successful Ricoh on my doorstep.

They are no longer the principal rugby club in the city and with Wasps routinely siphoning off local talent a glass ceiling has been set. Be honest, Wasps have no desire to make CRFC as strong as you suggest.
When there were overlapping fixtures then Wasps would play on Sundays, but last season they played the majority of their AP fixtures on Saturday. This season it's all on Sundays due to the survey that was done.

Right now all that talent instead goes to Worcester Warriors, arguably earlier than it would go to Wasps, since they're in the Championship and will be at the bottom of the AP if they promote (not guaranteed). Should Wasps take over the region, then those players will remain at Coventry for longer as they will not be at the level that Wasps require them to be. Wasps will also be loaning players that aren't getting enough game time for Wasps. Again, the quality of player that Wasps will loan will be far higher than those coming from Worcestor. Wasps will absolutely want their 3rd string players getting some good game time in the championship, and the easiest way to achieve that is to help CRFC.

All in their own interests and the current set-up is designed to marginalise smaller clubs like Cov. This isn't a rugby forum either so not interested in debating further but it's a bit like laying the new pitch-done primarily for Wasps' benefit with a PR bonus if it's also helpful for someone else. Also, as I said, there is no desire on Wasps' part for Cov to be the biggest club in the city, so this deal has seen the latter permanently relegated to being the junior club.

It's not really dip in and out, loan players tend to spend the entire season with the club, sometimes multiple seasons. But this is almost certainly happening already with Worcestor, except Worcester will be claiming those players earlier, and loaning players that aren't as good.

The current setup is an odd one, it can help clubs, and hinder them. Their players often get exposure to better coaching and facilities, but equally they can lose those players, since who's going to refuse and AP contract. Wasps being in Cov will make it harder for CRFC, but the reality is without a billionaire sugar daddy Cov weren't likely to make it anyway, and even having a billionaire sugar daddy isn't proving to be enough for Bristol. So yes, it'll be slightly harder for CRFC to reach the AP, but it'll be more likely they'll reach and survive in the championship. If they get that billionaire sugar daddy they'll probably just be able to build their own stadium.

How so? We've had some shocking loan players from PL clubs -Reece brown, lee sawyer, brian Kerr, Eddie Johnson, akpom, henderson, Richard Duffy, etc. They won't be loaning PL quality or championship quality players to CRFC, they would rather them get experience in a higher league.
