I have listed some of the questions I would like answered by the club. Yes I know a number of them are probably asking too much or will be dodged. Yes I know that they do not have to answer me or the Trust or the fans representatives. Yes I know some are simplistic but I would like CCFC/SISU's answers for themselves, not the opinions of people who do not make the decisions

It is not an exercise in going over the history - that has been done to death and can not be changed or influenced. It is not an exercise in finding out about Wasps I do not support them and never will - it is about CCFC. I would like to know in some detail how CCFC go forward from where we are now

Please keep it focussed on CCFC, on what CCFC are doing now and the way forward from here

1) New Stadium Where is the site for the new stadium? Is it inside the City boundaries? Specifically what is holding up the purchase and announcement? It has been nearly two years since the prospect of a new ground was raised with ACL and it seems little progress made, the lack of clarity is damaging to the club and its fans. What is the need for confidentiality now that the Ricoh is clearly out of reach in terms of ownership? How can you claim viability for the plan to build when you have not even tied it down to one site, only a preferred one? No two sites are the same in terms of build cost and operationally location will affect viability. What is the build timeline? Will the emphasis on community/charity services etc put forward in the offer to the Higgs Charity be retained and how will that affect incomes?

2) Stadium Finance. Exactly how is the new stadium cost, to be financed? If you do not have a site only a preferred one how can you know its viability and therefore the finance structure? What are the elements to the scheme of finance and what is the budgeted cost of the build? Will the build be in one phase or several? Will the academy and SBITC be based there and which element will move in first (CCFC, Academy or SBITC). What will happen to the Ryton property, will it be used to fund the project?

3) “Cash flow positive” Please explain clearly and in detail how this has been achieved, the time period you are referring to when making the claim and how long this is projected to last. Surely with the sale of Wilson & Christie, the Cup run monies and the amounts paid in advance by nearly 5000 season ticket holders this is to be expected? Especially when a reduced amount has so far been paid out on staff/player wages and other overheads or costs? Cash flow has been front loaded hasn’t it and can be expected to diminish from now till the end of the season? Has cash flow positive been attained by rolling up the interest charge and adding it to debt?

4) Liabilities. Have the amounts owed to ARVO Master Fund and SISU investors increased since 31/05/13 if so by how much? Have any of the liabilities to either of those two parties reduced since 31/05/13? How much of the ARVO Master fund loans have been converted to shares/equity since 31/05/13? What is the purpose in doing that conversion? Would ARVO expect to have a charge over any proposed new stadium? Would such a charge restrict finance options or are ARVO expected to be funding the project? How will the liability due for payment to ARVO December 2014 be paid (disclosed in 2013 SBS&L accounts)? Is that liability due December 2014 2.8m or 5.9m?

5) Funding. Are SISU still willing to provide additional working capital to CCFC to cover day to day trading and annual losses or have they through their investors and associates ARVO reached their limit? If no further funding available what are the implications for the team particularly for the next 4 years? Are there any new investors in Otium or SBS&L. If SISU are unwilling how will any losses during a new stadium build period be covered? How long will it take the new stadium to be cash flow positive once it is operational and so negate the need for further funding?

6) Interest. At 31/05/13 the club operated by Otium Entertainment Group Ltd owed £1.8m in interest on loans due to ARVO and SBS&L. Has that interest been now paid? What charge to interest has been incurred since and has it been paid in full? If the interest has been rolled up by ARVO as stated as a possibility by Mr Fisher then explain what is meant by that – does it mean it has been charged but not collected and therefore added to the clubs debt.

7) Additional Incomes. What are the additional incomes that will be obtained from a 15,000/18,000 seat stadium that the club do not receive now? A brief check on a number of other similar clubs that own their own stadium indicates these additional incomes account for less than 20% of total turnover and contribute less than 5% to the League 1 Salary Cap Management Protocol why would a CCFC stadium be different? What would make the conference facilities, function rooms stand out in a very competitive market? What are the costs structures to achieve that income? Would stadium naming rights be significant (eg more than £1m) for a League 1 club? Will those incomes be affected by the location if so how.

8) SCMP. Please explain the apparent contradiction between “the manager will get 60p in every £ that the club earns” and the Football League rules that state direct costs must be deducted from the turnovers before the 60% is applied in League 1. What part in percentage terms does the F&B income play in the overall SCMP budget? What is the approximate direct cost element in relation to F&B, Bar sales and hospitality? Is the club in a position to cope financially with a promotion to the Championship which although bringing additional income also brings additional costs in wages etc?

9) Player Budget. When statements are made regarding wages budgets are you referring to the total budget for wages for the company, the player’s salary budget set by the Board, the SCMP budget as it applies to certain but not all players or something other than that?

10) Player Sales. Is it a deliberate policy to increase the value of players with a view to sale? This would include bringing academy players on a fast track basis to maximise compensation payments on their sale or release. Are any potential sales timed to coincide with the need to make payments on interest liabilities? Would CCFC have had a next to no player budget 2014/15 without the sale of Callum Wilson and a return to the Ricoh? How do CCFC ensure that they retain not sell the best players

11) Arrangements at the Ricoh. What was the rationale behind the 2+2 year deal that was struck? Who put forward the 4 year limit? What income sources are part of the current rental deal and are the club interested in purchasing access to other income sources? Did the opening of all stands add to the overall cost of the original deal struck for 2+2 years and thereby put pressure on club finances? At what level of attendance does the club breakeven on a match day? Have the club ever considered promoting their own events at the Ricoh to increase Turnover and profits? Have they ever done so or would they do so? Who is involved in the contact between club and Wasps? Have Ms Seppala or Mr Fisher ever met Mr Eastwood or Mr Richardson? Who suggested or pressed for the actual date for the return to the Ricoh? Are there any circumstances, given ownership is not an option, that the club could have a long term future at the Ricoh or is the only long term option considered to be the building of a new stadium?

12) Fans representation. What do you see as the terms of reference of the SCG and the Sky Blue Trust? Are you prepared to deal with the Sky Blue Trust directly or is communication now to be through the two fans representatives taken from the SCG. If the latter why the change in policy, there has always been direct contact in the past? What particular abilities and strengths do you think the fans representatives bring? CCFC are part of the SCG, what terms of reference were set for the two representatives prior to the first directors meeting attended – were any set? What do you see as the purpose of fans representatives at directors meetings? Do you believe that such representation should come with any powers? What is the point of discussing matters that are not allowed to be passed on to the fans represented, doesn’t that weaken the whole point of such representation? Is it correct that the CCFC directors have final say on content of all minutes etc of the SCG before release?

Perhaps the Trust or the fans representatives could put these questions to the owners and directors and give a full and proper report back. Please add your own questions to put to CCFC

I agree, decent questions that will quiz them without any wise cracks or smarminess! Just straight up questions which they will probably swerve or spin but without reason to :(

I think this is how the questions should be sent. (not that they will get an answer)

What's the aim for this season? Comments made by Tim Fisher mention that the current rental agreement wouldn't be viable in the championship. Why is this the case? What would the club look to put in place to remedy it?

I am sure sepala and co are looking at an exit strategy as their plan A,B,C,D,E and F have fallen apart

Brilliant

I would also ask now that you are no longer doing business with the council. Would you please talk to the CET and the Skyblues trust. They can no longer be considered to be in conspiracy with the council. As there is nothing to conspire about.

I can't speak for all fans however a lot of fans trust the CET and the trust above Mr Strange and Ward and the Coventry Observer.

Marketing Like it or not CCFC must now compete with a premiership rugby team for income. What is the marketing strategy that will compete effectively in particular for corporate sponsorship, advertising, events and hospitality. What will make a third division football club the preferred choice to a premiership rugby club in respect of corporate clients in particular? What measures are being taken to market what the club has to offer fans more effectively? How will the club avoid past problems with ticketing, even spelling mistakes etc? How is the club going to rebuild its connection with the many disaffected fans?

It's unpalatable to me but have the club thought about approaching Wasps about marketing each others tickets? It's certainly in Wasps interests to have as many attendees at CCFC. If we're being conciliatory it's in some ways good for CCFC to have a well supported Wasps as it might alleviate rental pressures further on.

The more see stuff like this the more it confirms to me. The main question is how dies the figures for owning you own ground stack up to getting into bed with Wasps.

Don't compete with them marketing wise share their marketing invest in it.

Every time they market wasps they also market CCFC. Corporate deals include both.
We could half our costs in so many areas over night.
Instead out idea seems to be build something we simply can't afford

My Dad hasn't been to a game since the Sixfields move, he's had zero communication from the club to try and get him back. In this day and age marketing and mailshot systems are very cheap and pretty sophisticated. Why are the club not targeting people like him and offering them a free ticket or some other offer to try and get them back.

For those who live locally when did you last see a CCFC billboard or radio advert or have a flyer through the door?

They don't even seem to cover the basics so I struggle to see how they are going to compete with Wasps marketing.

It should be done in every area Fern.

Physios
Community projects
Sponsorship deals
Training facilities
Corporate deals
Advertising

Totally agree, absolutely awful. It would cost them peanuts compared to what they could make back to get a decent PR / Marketing person.

Sam has been sold to Wycombe Wanderers for an undisclosed fee

Sam has had his contract ended as he didn't fit into the way we play!

But on the original these are all questions we would love to be answered and if they have any respect for their customers/fans they should at least make an effort to answer some of them.

I think these questions are valid and should be sent to SW, TF and JS. Maybe it should be stated that the questions are a summation of questions raised and discussed on this board and that any answers would be published here.

I like that the tone of the questions is kept neutral and that the questions are to-the-point.

Nick offered a highly moderated separate forum section to the fans reps newly appointed to the ccfc board. Maybe the offer could be offered to SW as well?

I agree with this and have stated so before. Many 'sports' fans just like watching sport. In an ideal world, Wasps games should be promoted at CCFC games, and vice versa. If, and again I know it's a big 'if'; but if Wasps can change the Ricoh matchday experience, the Wasps home games are Sunday afternoon events, and every second game is away of course. New people to the ground just may decide, given a decent Ricoh experience and decent marketing of the football proposition, be tempted to give the footy a whirl.

Hasten to add that if there's the sort of 'simulation' as seen in yesterday's Liverpool:Basel game; egg-chasers won't come back; but even I have to concede that's not Fisher's fault...

Please ask them - have you actually spoken to any other clubs that are sharing their facilities with a 2nd sports team e.g. Swansea, Hull,Wigan, Reading,Huddersfield? Are there lessons to be learnt in terms of cost-saving, marketing etc.? How to protect your fanbase.

Explain why the current rent deal isn't sustainable in the Championship when TV income alone is worth an extra 4 million+ a year.

But we keep hearing that Coventry people and cov fans can't afford to go to the football, that's it's too expensive (I agree football in general is), so how are they going to afford both to watch ccfc regularly and wasps regularly? I think there's a real danger in ccfc fans going to 2-3 wasps games, getting hooked then dropping ccfc games.

Could happen; that stated, my point was more aimed at people new to the Ricoh matchday experience; so mainly egg-chasing supporters. Dad takes his son, who loves it sees a poster for The City and badgers his Dad to bring him, etc. Without wishing to be funny, finance normally isn't an issue with rugby fans - so can afford to come back. We are where we are. If CCFC oppose the Wasps thing at every turn, then the situation you describe may happen and there's no chance of folk coming the other way. Do it by consensus and you've got a decent chance

Isn't this the point now? The onus is now on the football club to improve the product on and off the field.
It is up to them to show their business acumen and deliver.
Their argument for a new stadium is that they can't sit back and wait for things to happen. That same argument now applies even more so to the short-term management of the club.

Excellent set of questions and I would be very interested to hear the answers to them. Sadly I doubt we will and will be left wondering, will it be a case of Arena 3000? Without improvements to the performances on the pitch to bolster the attendance we could end up in a downward spiral of dwindling gates leading to reduced income meaning less money to spend on players etc.

I will be stunned if they answer one of the questions as Fisher treats the customers/fans with total contempt but I don't believe the other cheek to that backside Waggott is any better just more smarmy.

Answers to many of these raised points would need candid and honest responses. SISU would have to have some respect for the questioner and provide a well thought out and progressive set of viable suggestions for a successful continuity.
Forget it you dreamers, they prefer spin, bullshit and sycophants to help them with their usual smoke and mirrors deception !! They'll hide behind commercial sensitivity and confidentiality blah blah blah !

I don't think that will be too much of an issue in the short term. Most of the people I have heard say they will go to a few Wasps games weren't city fans anyway. Most were people who were originally from outside the area.

The greater danger is on the youngsters who will become attached to Wasps and grow up as Rugby fans rather than football fans.

I'm not sure that is the danger either. Far too many people born in Cov support other football teams. Not judging them, but its something the club need to work on, and properly engage the younger fans.

Rugby isn't like that as much though I don't think.

The reason so many in Cov (and every other town and city without a top team) support other football clubs is down to the media (sky) IMO. The same five/six clubs are all you ever hear about, and kids want to support the winning team they hear all about.

With rugby there is less media coverage.

when i was a kid, all i ever heard about was Man Utd and Liverpool. I still supported Cov. I dont blame sky, I think local clubs should do as much as they can to get bums on seats.

I was hooked on Cov because my school got free tickets and I got taken for a few home games in a row. They soon became my team, even if i didnt want it to be :), as I was going to see them week after week for a couple of months.

For us now, I would be giving away a free ticket to all under 18's with a paying adult. I would be looking at hiring out the Jag Hall for a "family fair" at every home game. A few rides, sky blue sam, face painting, as well as food, real ales etc.

I would be having stands at all local events, godiva festival etc as well as a place in town with Sam there every saturday when we are away from home to engage with the next generation of fans. I'd give a free "birthday pack" to all kids who wanted a "sky blue birthday" etc etc.

The other arguement would be that SKY have raised the profile of footbal in this country and we should have more fans as footballs stock has never been higher.

when i was a kid, all i ever heard about was Man Utd and Liverpool.

Real ale for the kids - cracking idea.
Maybe a sandwich and black sheep ale meal deal ?
Guess it softens the blow when we get hammered by Crewe, and they won't remember anything next morning  ;)

as in a "family fair". no point making it a kids play area, as no-one will go. have a balanced between a place kids will pester their parents to take them and a place parents want to go before a game.

Very well said OSB 58 and I hope those in their ivory towers will see sense in responding to some of those points. It deserves some consideration at least. You personally have demonstrated you are well versed in matters as far as can be garnered and I applaud you for that insight. Your patience is a virtue!

Clearly you would not expect the more sensitive financial issues to be answered for all fans to know though? It would open them up to all sorts of quizzing by those lacking the ability and rightful place to do so.
You have highlighted just about all the concerns and I hope it serves to get some sort of open answers on many of those raised questions for the fans so they can have an understanding and maybe, just maybe through that openness those fans have a chink of daylight towards the future.

One question I would ask is; what are their long term plans for the football club and if they have an exit strategy? How they will achieve that strategy and what parameters they have for doing so, including a probable time line? If that strategy includes a new stadium will they exit with said stadium in the ownership of CCFC or will they remain the freeholders?

I agree with this, but from a slightly different angle.

Football on TV all the time has created millions of armchair fans. These are people that 30-40 years ago would have had very little interest in football. What Sky has done is made "football fans" out of people who will watch a game if its on but have no real interest in going to games. They do however pay their sky subscription and merchandise, putting money into the game which is unevenly split in favour of the bigger clubs, and as the bigger clubs are the ones mostly on TV, they end up being the team these armchair fans support.

These people IMO are "extra" fans, that the game of football wouldn't have attracted years ago, and don't contribute anything in the way of attendances. The flip side of this of course is that overall sky hasn't really had any affect on attendances at games, as crowds are as high as they ever were. Even us in our lowly position, had more fans watching in the 2012-13 season (first in league 1), than we did in the 1961-62 season.

Do they still where the kids can go and get the players autographs and I think they used to give out pop and crisps at the same time, I think it was in the main stand at HR.

OSB at this moment in time I don't think the higher ups at the club have the foggiest idea of what their future plans are which is why the honest answer to a lot of your questions will be 'don't know sorry'. It is precisely this though that makes it vital for the same higher ups to sit up and listen to what fans who still care about the club are putting forward. The SCG in its present guise is not fit for purpose and made to offer the pretence of transparency when it is in fact the opposite and mutes direct questioning.

Maybe the deafening silence from Waggott/Fisher and co is a sign they have smelt the coffee.
