I'm sure most fans would have him back in a heartbeat, would be amazing at this level. Question is, would he want to? Probably not......

While we are on the subject Collins (City fan/striker at Shrewsbury must be on the radar?!)

Experienced keeper would help enormously. Choose between Alsopp and Burge as the understudy and send back/release accordingly.

Good call. We need a strong GK, all great teams build around one. Would he come?
He's 31 and spent a long time as a squad player and not always a no1. I think that if he was guaranteed first choice and the £ worked then he would.
We need to show ambition.

Can we sign a petition to sign Fulop?

Somebody call Waggott.

Maybe those 2 self elected head of cov fans at the board last week could give em a call?

When was the last time he played? According to wiki, he's been unattached for a season and a half after being ill.

Personally I would have reservations signing anyone who's been unattached for that long at this point in the season.

Why would anyone want to play for semi pro wages in our league , that's what is on offer

That's why we look like a semi pro team

No it isnt. (regarding wages)

Why would you want to sign Fulop? He hasnt played since the Summer of 2013. Alsopp hasn't done too bad since coming back into the side anyhow.

According to SP he didn't have a save to make last night, i might suggest he had 2 saves to make, now that might have been not to bad

A strong experienced keeper gives the whole defence confidence.
I don't know whether Fulop in his current situation meets that.
However I would love us to sign an equivalent of Joe Murphy when we signed him

Should be first priority imo someon like a joe Murphy or a paddy kenny, get rid of alsopp he is dire and burge is no better, mcquoid can go back ,get another forward in with a bit of expieience as well like a Kevin lisbie, Collins would be a trier with the cov connection and all

Yes 1st one 6 yard box goalkeeper territory should be dominating that area, 2nd 7 yards out but to be fair maybe a bit more harsh on him

Yes, very harsh on Allsop, he had 5-6 players blocking him, no way he could have claimed it.

Poor bugger however.....

“The doctors have said there’s no reason why I can’t return once I am over this illness and what was encouraging was the amount of clubs that inquired about me in January.”

If he is in recovery or has recovered it would be worth giving him a trial

Problem is if he has just recovered or in recovery it will take 3-4 months to get fit, get his core strength back so he doesn't get injured, get form and be ready to play again. Cancer and chemo/radiotherapy isn't something you get over quickly.

Realistically if we took him on trial, it's likely we would be signing him with a a view to next season rather than January onwards. I would much rather we went for someone like scott loach, who's been playing semi regularly and could come straight into the first 11.

You are probably right there unfortunately.

However Goalkeeper is about the only position where you may pull it off. Although it would mean keeping Allsop for until you knew he could regain satisfactory fitness.

He might be if he's surpluses to requirements at his current club, we've let a number of contracted players leave for free recently.

Are we saying collins instead of or as well as keeping madine? And aren't they too similar?

When somebody scores against his old side or home town team he should celebrate this standing there looking ashamed is crazy.

I mentioned Collins last week and people where saying far to similar to Madine, Collins is more of a natural finisher around the box than Madine is, puts his chances away when they come, and would certainly fight for the shirt.

Fulop an ok shout, but think their was a bad illness he had before, so I'd rather look elsewhere, someone of that experience would be good though, Paddy Kenny only on a months loan, Kirkland is desperate to get playing at Wednesday sat on their bench, Scott Loach desperate to get playing again and re-kick his career.
