Looking at this on the whole scale of things it's not very professional of freddie knowing our team size and how reliant we are going to be on the so called seasoned players this year I think this is very damning of him not to be in better shape.
You could even argue that this shows his lack of commitment to the club/fans and his fellow team mates also.

Do u remember thorn in his playing days? He wasn't fat mate, he's earned the right to be that way now by staying in shape when he was playing. Something fat Freddie needs to get in his head, or kindly leave, asap!..... And we will save an extra 7k a week!

Unforgivable... He's paid to play for this club and he's not doing it. Ship him out, I imagine he's one of our higher earners anyway.
As for Deegan, it's good to hear he's being given this treatment - with him in the middle it would give Bigi a rest and allow Clingan to play his game, rather than having to be defending most of the opposition attacks.

Right this is purely a thought I had guys so don't shoot me for saying it....

Do u think sisu cud be gettin thorn to say this so we don't complain wen they ship him back to southend in Jan, getting him off the wage bill?

Oh I know, wasn't takin seriously mate, but id bet my bottom dollar u hit the nail on the head and that's exactly wat Freddies thinkin, "why should I listen to this fat bastard!!" Freddie should look at thorn at his age, wen drinking was rife in football, and be embarrassed that he's in worse shape..

Given that the state of our squad and it being the last year of his contract it gave him a golden opportunity to rise to the occassion this is extremely disappointing. Clearly the root problem is that his head is not in the right mental place and he lacks the motivation to play for CCFC. 3 or 4 days at Lilleshall is not going to change that.

In the meantime we - yes the fans with their ticket money - fund his wages for sitting around not being fit enough to play a part. Disgraceful and even harder to take given our finances & the effect that has on the squad.

Should have shipped him out long ago - certainly wont be here next season ......personally would put him out on loan till January then get rid - clearly he doesnt want to play for CCFC

Although it would cause ructions with the PFA, if in the eyes of the manager Freddy is unfit to play due to his personal lack of professionalism then the club should simply suspend him until he is fit to play. Why the hell are we paying someone who is supposed to be a professional sportsman but is unfit to perform his contracted duty? Suspend him or even terminate his contract. I know our squad is pitifully thin but maybe the wages being wasted in this low life could be spent more prudently in the loan market. Make an example of the lazy sod, its the same as Thornton etc, too much money, no self discipline and too few brain cells. Eastwood has been wasting his career for 5 years now and its time to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough.

not surprising............you watch him in the warm up and he is always at the back by himself........doing half what everyone else is at half the pace.

watched the youtube video of his southend goals after watching the cody mcdonald one........and after watching it i said its his fitness that's gone.....he couldn't score the half the goals he did then now.......

Clearly, AT is very unhappy - and probably angry- with Eastwoods lack of professionalism. The fact that a footballer can lack basic fitness at this time of year beggars belief. I don't know if he has lost interest in football in general or CCFC in particular, but it seems to me that AT has put him in the Last Chance Saloon. I don't think that an intensive fitness course will change Eastwoods mindset. He will probably be gone in January (if anyone wants him) especially if Cody Mc does the business.

Rumour had it that we did try to off load him to MK Dons but he failed his medical.
AT must have been able to see for some time that Freddie has been carrying far too much weight for a footballer, even Aidy said that his muscle to fat ratio was dreadful.
Think its a positive move by Thorn, no one gets a free ride and everyone will work for this club.

I hope it works as he should flourish in AT's style. Although he was knackered in no time, I actually thought he was our best chance of scoring against Watford when he came on as sub!

I lost my patience with him for what I thought was the last time during an apalling sub appearance toward the end of last season. It was the game where he trod on the ball when unmarked a yard out from goal, and was incredibly lazy throughout. But at various points under Coleman and Boothroyd I thought he was harshly treated when performing well (and scoring goals for once). After both scoring runs he lost his place through injury and never got it back. When used, he looked no way near fitness. If any City player has suffered from our lack of reserve team, it's Eastwood.

I don't think there is any doubt that a fit and focussed Eastwood is an asset, and I really hope that this kick up the backside can serve as the wake-up call he needs to save his career. He looked determined to prove a point against Watford, but obviously hasn't followed that up with graft in training since.

All through pre season you could see he was carrying far to much weight. At Kettering you could almost hear his shirt crying out in pain from being stretched so much.
Can't believe a "Proffesional" could get in such a mess.

Real shame. Obviously the guy has lost his passion foe the game in recent years. Which o be fair is understandable considering the treatment he's had from the likes of AB.

The worst thing is our style and formation are tailor made for him.

Time to let this cat (or kitten) out of the bag: I was working for a company which did some work for CCFC a while ago. As such I saw a few City players, one (now ex-City) player in particular who described Eastwood as "a nightmare, a bloody nightmare."

At this point I'm wondering if Freddy (and City) need a change. 17 goals in 108 games: That's 1 goal every 6.35 games, or £70,588 per goal (based on the £1.2 million fee we paid Wolves). Its simply not worked out for him or City. Wolves are probably still laughing their (dog)heads off, great bit of business for them.

The way Freddy was treated by Coleman and Morrison was a bit crappy at times. Remember the hat-trick he scored against Peterboro? That was our 1st win in 10 games and saved Coleman from the sack. After the game:

Coleman: "Did you see Clint's last-second goal line clearance? What a player!"
Morrison: "By the way, it was my idea for Freddy to play that game!"

Still, he's had enough chances, but he seems to disappear in too many games. After the Peterboro hat-trick he scored the winner at Plymouth and I thought "Finally! Go Freddy Go!" Alas, another false dawn. Too ineffective, rarely stamps his mark on games, and now unfit before the 10 game mark! Seriously??!

We'll be lucky to get £300,000 for him. A wasted opportunity, for him and us.

Rather than saying "unfit before the 10 game mark", it's worth considering that he missed the end of preseason with an injury that he has only recently returned from. Not defending Freddy for being lazy since then, just pointing out a mitigating factor.

And as far as people being a "complete nightmare"; it depends on who is saying it and why. Boothroyd thought Sammy was a "complete nightmare..always trying to pass it sideways or backwards, tsk!".
