Everyone seems to be completely ruling out a move by Wasps for CCFC. Is it really out of the question? Would it not make perfect commercial sense?
So, you think that Wasps are going to play Shitzu at their own game? Interesting.Wasps themselves ruled it out.
I would imagine they would only pick it up out of administration otherwise they have to negotiate with SISU.
For wasps and by proxy us.for who ?

Oh yes he did. That's not what he said.

Oh yes he did.
Oh yes it is. Our owners tried to distress ACL to the point where they picked up the Ricoh for peanuts. Where is the difference?Oh no it isn't.
(He's behind you)
Seriously though, Don was saying that wasps aren't interested in buying ccfc, but may consider it if we were to go into admin. That's not 'playing sisu at their own game', that's just considering an opportunity when it arises.

However I think they just have enough on their own plate and just see CCFC as a tenant that they can't depend on. They will want to make their business solvent without CCFC, before they even consider treading in those murky waters.
Look, MGI Fiduciary are the owners of the Ricoh. They are an entertainment company based in Malta and own several casinos and other similar businesses.Everyone seems to be completely ruling out a move by Wasps for CCFC. Is it really out of the question? Would it not make perfect commercial sense?
Why?Wasps may have landed at the Ricoh as a 2nd or even 3rd choice but surely they can now see the sense in combining that ownership with that of CCFC. I accept that they will want to make their own business a success first but I would not be surprised if, after having done that, they make an approach for the football club.
Why?

Wasps are their first sports franchise I'm aware of and it comes with quite some risk. They benefit from rent from CCFC right now.
Why would MGI extend that risk by taking over a loss making Division 3 football club? And lose their rent into the bargain.
That's why MGI have ruled it out.

It makes perfect sense for Wasps and CCFC to be owned by the same people who own wasps.
The issue for me is for that to happen Wasps have to do a deal with SISU.
Wasps will see our club as worth nothing and only paying off a 5th of the debt. (Administration)
SISU would probably see the club as worth about 20-30 million.
So unless we go into administration or some firm of alliance is formed I can't see it happening sorry.
I don't know anything about rugby and don't want to know, only played the game a few times whilst at Barkers and each time was sensible enough to run the other way to the ball! However, I do know something of business and can't help thinking that having two sporting teams under the same roof presents a good business opportunity. The obvious factor is of course the price which has to be paid in order to achieve that.
Perhaps they do not have the right people on the payroll to see the commercial viability. If it's such an amazing business opportunity why haven't swansea/osprey's, wigan fc/wigen, etc, etc all done this? They share stadiums?

How is it commercially viable? A loss make rugby club, a struggling stadium, a financially cripples football club that cannot survive outside league one without significant investment?
If it was that commercially viable, it would have already been done by now, by the clubs that have been sharing stadia for a number of years.

Sorry Don, I just don't see why it makes financial sense. Far too many risks, they want to stop funding wasps losses, they won't want to fund ours. Eastwood said it would take a few years for wasps to breakeven at the ricoh. Getting to the PL would take a significant amount of investment and even then not guaranteed to get there. No, like OSB had said a few times makes more sense for wasps to broker third party take over of ccfc and keep us merely as tenants. They have enough risks to worry about just moving here and what will happen to their fan base once the novelty has worn off.

How much profit did CCFC make last year?

With the abuse the Wasps get from some City fans on here I doubt they would even bother thinking about it.
An then when we're losing money, the Wasps owners can just relocate us to another area of the UK. Sounds like a great plan!
