This is the single biggest issue that is affecting me as a Cov fan. I quite like rugby, I think WASPS playing at the stadium is a good use of assets and potentially good for the city of Coventry but giving the stadium to them IMO will further lead to the decline and possible extinction of the club. This is too serious to be in a sub-forum, read the article again talk to CCFC fans in the city, w have been sold down the river with what seems like majority approval.

Terrible situation for us to be in. What are our owners doing to redress the situation? Why not a campaign to get the people of Coventry involved in supporting a serious bid from SISU for a 50% share in ACL? Why not present a vision backed up with a business plan of the benefits of joint ownership of the stadium with Wasps and a residue share held by CCC? The three parties with an interest in the stadium. No, it won't happen because SISU moved on long ago. We're on our way out of Coventry and the Wasps have the got hold of the stadium without a whimper from our owners. Joy has started the next court case in the hope that her investors get something back from the losses to date - nothing to do with CCFC.

It's because they had 1 maybe 2 seasons openers at twinkenham. Doesn't mean they were were wasps fans, as I saw a package on group on for £15 tickets for the season's finale at twinkenham, so any old rugby fan will be there for a day out. At adams park they averaged around 5.8k.

I can't see anything CCFC fans can do to change it.
I think 90% of CCFC fans are not happy that it happened. However I think most of these fans understand the logic behind why the council made the decision.
That is not getting 'hysterical, wet, welcoming them with open arms, jumping up and down with Glee'
It's just not attacking wasps themselves over everything they do or say. It's just thinking of the bigger picture and not just CCFC when it comes to understanding the decision.
It's understanding the symptoms of the problem and directing most your anger towards the cause of the problems

the move to Northampton made me stop going to support my club, wasps owning ACL will not.
Maybe be the re-branding of the stadium should make me angry too, but it really doesn't, probably because I feel so dis-attached from the club.

The difference being there was going to be a chance that we would come back to Coventry and get a stake in the ground, now this is too late. Short term view is fine, yes we get to support the club we love but long term, I am not too convinced. We felt like a spare part in Northampton which was expected but to feel the same at our own ground is just unacceptable. I cannot imagine the feeling I am going to feel seeing sky blue seats turn black and yellow. Even seeing that insect on the ground makes me feel sick.
Everyone knows our wonderful owners are to blame but to be honest, I don't care at this point I just need reassurances on what is happening with our club.
Were we really going to come back and get a stake In the Ground ?
I'm not so sure of that Stu we relaid the pitch @ sixfields over May / June

That was everyone's hope and the language being used seemed to suggest a rebuilding of the relationship.
On 22nd August the council were saying ""We recognise that this stalemate had to be broken, and that if the club could come home it would help everyone ...begin to rebuild and repair damaged relationships, so we’re pleased that ACL has been able to come to an agreement with the club."We’ve always been clear that we wanted the Sky Blues playing again in their rightful home, the Ricoh Arena.". Less than a month later we find out they're in talks to sell with Wasps and then less than 3 weeks later the Ricoh was sold. How is that rebuilding a relationship?
Would SISU have purchased the ground? We will never know the answer but it certainly seems CCC had no intention of either rebuilding the relationship or giving the club an opportunity to own the ground they themselves state is their rightful home.
Tim confirmed almost immediately after the return, that they were going ahead with the new stadium and the JR. So, on the face of it, there was no point of giving SISU a last chance of getting at least a percentage of ACL. Maybe he should have at least pretended to want a share to see if CCC were willing to bend - as they obviously were. But no, we are building our own stadium ( announcement due in 3 weeks from now ).

But on that basis are we then supposed to take as gospel everything SISU say? We know they're full of BS so why are people making out something Fisher says is guaranteed to be true, or at least should be considered to be true by CCC, because it suits a certain narrative.
I have to makes deals with people like that all the time, they can be a nightmare and come out with all sorts of rubbish to try and get a better deal but you ignore it and get on with the important stuff. I keep coming back to the same question, did CCC let SISU know a 250 year lease was available for under £6m. No matter what the actions of SISU, and they have been consistently terrible since being at the club, if CCC haven't done this they have failed the football club and the city.
we don't know what restraints there may have been. Maybe one day we will. As for TF's bullshit, why didn't he publicly offer to put a hold on the stadium plans and ask for an informal meeting to start "bridge building"? Great opportunity. Maybe then CCC would have had to put Wasps on hold. He could always revert to the stadium plans if CCC didn't bite. I deal with people like that as well and an informal chat can break the ice, but to publicly announce that the JR and stadium are going ahead puts paid to any possible deal.

I would have preferred Joy, when she spoke about the sale to Wasps, to have said it should be blocked and the same deal offered to CCFC. A huge missed opportunity there by SISU but that doesn't take away from the actions of the council. Just because SISU are incompetent doesn't give CCC the right to take action that will more than likely have a negative effect on us for decades to come.

This should be called "the moronic report" - our status as tenants hasn't changed one iota with the sales of the ground to Wasps - we didn't own it before, remember? Nor have we ever owned it. Yes there is a doubt over our future tenancy after 3.5 years' time, but you can chalk that one up to SISU for using loopholes in administration/liquidation law to tear up our secure 50-year tenancy agreement.
Anyone labouring under the mistaken illusion that the Council somehow owe the club help and support despite saving the Ricoh project, should take one look at the club's attidue during the rent strike - nicely summed up by the JR verdict. In real life you don't get to have your cake and eat it. CCFC should either have paid for the Ricoh themselves or paid the rent until a new agreement was reached on the rent. You can't just renege on your obligations once you've got everything you want.
Wasps moving from Wycombe isn't ideal but I'd take that 1000 times out of 1000 to keep the Ricoh out of SISU's hands forever.

They have got every right in the world Dave. It's their stadium and they can sell it if they want to. They don't owe CCFC anything, especially after the way SISU have treated them.

Previously we were the primary tenant renting from a company owned by our local council and a local charity who, at least theoretically, should have had an interest in what was best for the club. Now we are owned by a rugby club from London who will have little thought for our club other than how to make as much money as possible out of us. You are also conveniently ignoring the rapid rate at which everything at the ground is being Wasps branded. The Ricoh did feel like home, it certainly doesn't now.
This is not some random brand being sold from one equity firm to another. We're talking about our local council here, who do you think they should be assisting, our football team who have been in the city for over 100 years or a random rugby club from London? They way SISU have acted towards the council should have zero impact, the club will hopefully be here a long time after SISU have gone but thanks to the council there will be damage to the club for decades to come.

OK so lets assume CCC will never do a deal with SISU. They repeatedly stated ACL was performing well and the future was bright. Why not hold on to it, use the profit generated to offset central government cuts, and when we have better owners look to sell it to them. Could it be that the council weren't telling the whole truth about how well ACL was performing? If they were telling the truth why have they sold it so cheaply to Wasps, can only be out of spite.
You seem to be missing the point, I think deliberately, no matter what the actions of the current owners of the club the council should not be taking action out of spite. Irrespective of how badly our owners have behaved the actions of the council, in selling to Wasps, are for me absolutely indefensible. I suspect they know this and is why we get nothing but 'it's confidential'.

Nice to see you're keeping your one-eyed bitter dislike of the Wasps deal!
Hurrah for the council and Higgs! They've beaten SISU are their own game. I bought the missus a couple of bottles of champagne during the JR - we had one when the verdict came in, then another when the Wasps deal went through. Couldn't be happier - even more so because it means that embittered knobs like you have lost. Shame you keep moaning about it!
