Latest Ricoh Arena legal action won't harm relationship with CCFC (4 Viewers)

They keep saying it is not the club doing this but the owners of the club but then come out with the statement

“This step has been taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard Coventry City FC’s position in relation to the outstanding legal appeal".

As far as I know CCFC is not part of the legal appeal on the JR, Fisher has said it isn't the club doing this, seem to remember Waggott saying the same so what position for CCFC is being protected if it isn't actually involved ?

Also

"Commercially, it is the right thing to do and is necessary to protect the club’s position as a tenant in Coventry." How does this action do that? Arent the rights of a tenant secured by its agreement with the landlord? Is CCFC actually a tenant with a lease or is it a day renter?

Contradictory statements are surely no longer a surprise to you in this fiasco?

All parties have been guilty of it at various points.

no surprise at all but it does give an opportunity to challenge what is being said doesn't it ?

OSB put up questions on here the other day which me and I'd say most fans would like answering. Would it be possible for you to do a open letter article and put the questions across to the owners of CCFC?

Yeah, I got a message about this. I was away last week, but did reply.

Best way would be to draft something and send to [email protected]

As much as people seem to want there to be a falling out if both Fisher and Eastwood are saying it's not a problem then there's not a problem is there no matter what anyone else thinks?

Everything seems to be dealt with through written statements these days. Makes it more difficult to challenge.

Lessons learnt from mistakes of past spokesmen perhaps...

Of course, I'll keep digging on all the relevant issues. As always!

yes but a good newspaper would point out contradictory statements and statements that are obviously spin rather than printing them without comment and being culpable in their readership being mislead no matter who is making the statements.

See above.

I also don't think you are giving the average reader enough credit.

I contacted Simon regarding this point he responded immediately.

I also messaged OSB58 and Nick regarding this subject to see how we could get something going and got responses.

OSB58 seems to have this in hand I'll leave it him to elabourate as there were a few issues re timing etc... that he pointed out that made sense.

I think you should just point out the contradictory statements from SISU so posters on here can accuse the CET of being a council mouth piece. Wasps have been getting the blame for everything for too long now and its about time the CET took up some of the slack.

Simon have you asked CCC. If now that they are no longer an owner of ACL.

Would they welcome and actively help SISU try to build a new stadium within their boundaries. If such land does exist, would they support the concept in order to keep the football club within the local economy?

Seems a very reasonable question to ask.

The football club is already in the local economy ?
I've yet to see a case for a new stadium from Sisu.

There is a large patch of land sitting idle near Tower Court Foleshill, between Foleshill Road and Stoney Stanton Road. Why don't sisu have a go for that and see what the ccc attitude is. Think it was destined to become a bit of an Urban village a while back, what a tremendous opportunity to invest in all the things Fisher has spouted on about.
