Where have you heard this Lurker? Weren't we apparently after him in the Summer? What a great Xmas present that would be!! We would still need a half decent backup due to his injury record.

Think it was Heinz Brown on his Bacon butty this morning that spelled Kirkland to cov when he squeezed it on the bacon.

Another old rumour cropping up, Pressley already enquired but wages were a stumbling block earlier in the season.

I had a text come through...one of those Vodafone football alerts saying that it's in today's Sun Newspaper.

And to be fair, it says we 'want' him to return as he's lost his place to Westwood. Nothing concrete.

As much as I'd like to see CK back in a Cov shirt he isn't going to bring the creativity in midfield thay we need to create goals. IMO thats where our major concern is.

Wednesday forum suggesting we'd need to cough up at least 500k for Madine and Kirkland.

tbf that's just some random fan, they are both out of contract and not wanted so I doubt it. Probably just happy to get them off the wage bill. I can easily write we'd want 500k for Fleck and Barton if they were to go in January which we both know is bull.

What's his fitness like these days, is he going to manage more than a handful of games without being out injured?

I spoke to Madine yesterday and he said he believes Wednesday do want some money for him.

He did said he would "love" to come here and they are working on it.

Oh really, was this at the JSB event? Shame if so.

Don't worry, SP is probably going to play him in midfield in a new 5-1-5 formation what he seen on the telly.

He wont be the only signing we need, we are most likely looking at all areas of the pitch and looking to strengthen, so this would be a good signing and bring a much needed presence and experience between the sticks.

Played 84 games last 2 season for Wednesday, lost his place to Westwood this season.

Sounds like his injury problems are behind him but you'd def want a pay to play element in any contract he is offered. Obviously not a long term solution but if we could get 2 or 3 years out of him would be a good move and give some breathing space to bring someone else though if Burge isn't the long term solution.

If he can manage his fitness there's no reason why he can't play for another 4/5 years. Carroll at Notts County is one of the best keepers in the division at 37.

Yeah, agree with that. I would like to see Kirkland back though to be fair I don't think Allsop has been too bad lately. Not convinced by Burge at all though.

Why should wages be an issue?

According to the CWR last week we are still paying a percentage of Bakers wages up to 3/4, and we couldn't afford him?

So yet again another franchise had fucked us.

KIRKLAND ALLOWED TO LEAVE

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Stuart Gray has revealed he will let Chris Kirkland leave on loan in January, as soon the Owls goalkeeping department is back to full strength, says The Star.
