I would expect a Coventry City Supporters Trust board member to care more about Coventry City FC than Wasps RFC.

I don't think Jan was trying to get the over reaction his comments have caused, especially with you Nick. Wasps whether we like it or not will attract some city fans, they are offering top flight sport for less than some are paying to watch the turgid offerings on the pitch on a Saturday. My son and father are both season ticket holders but went out of curiosity as they had never seen top flight rugby, they said it was a very enjoyable day out. My son would probably prefer to go to watch the Rugby, his reasoning was that the atmosphere was great and the action was exciting, two things that are missing from our games at the moment. At the end of the day Our club has been bled dry and reduced to rubble by uncaring owners, the vitriol of fans on here should be directed that way, they have had enough and Wasps may be the ones to gain from this but its not their fault.

You mean the two trust board members who are season ticket holders at the club and go to most away games, who have been to one Wasps game and are not Wasps season ticket holders as far as I know? I'm sure if Wasps were responsible for our demise then they would be getting the same level of grief from everybody including me but they are not.

I don't really care about the level of respect Wasps have shown their fans - thats between them and their fans - I do care about CCFC. You don't oppose moving to Nuneaton even if it might kill another team and its not in Coventry? Sad and selfish.
If my comments shame the Trust then report me to them, oppose me in the elections, come to meetings and make your point to other members.

They are encouraging CCFC to start building bridges with them, see fit to invite Nick Eastwood to a Trust meeting and so on. Stop taking things to the absurd extreme and see that there is a clear double standard here.

The thing, is even.more worrying if he wasn't trying. If he was doing some bhsb last fishing I'd take my hat off. By not seeing how bad that post looked it worries me more than him doing it just for the reaction.

That is hypocrisy right there, going from not giving a fuck about wasps fans when they moved to abusing people who don't oppose something he is openly promoting for somebody else.

They are intertwined right now. We have to accept that, just like we have to accept Wasps being owners of the Ricoh. Wasps will not want us there unless they profit, that's where the difficulty in negotiating a good rent agreement comes from.

In 4 years' time can you see them giving us a good deal if we have nowhere to go? We will be screwed to the hilt.

I think the trust should make it very clear they are against franchising and encourage all supporters not to endorse it by attending Wasps games. The only hope we have of ever gaining an ownership stake in the Ricoh is if Wasps plan fails so the less people attending the better. Exactly the same as when people were being asked not to go to Sixfields to force SISU to bring us back home.

I believe that a deal over access to match day revenues is possible but unless you ask you certainly won't get. Its down to negotiating the best possible deal for CCFC.

I thought Wasps had to move here as they needed access to 365 days a year revenue. Odd that without they were apparently going out of business but we just need matchday revenue.

When we buggered off to Sixfields I went to a few England games. Obviously I support England but the feeling when they scored was nothing like the feeling when City score. Let alone some random team I couldn't care less about.

None of you answered my question before so I'll ask again did any of you give a toss when Wasps,London Irishetc were moved before? Where was your moral indignation then? When people last season said why not go and watch Cov how many of you said you didn't give a toss about Cov its a different sport,now all of a sudden you're concerned brilliant.

In all honestly until this situation with Wasps I had no idea that London Wasps and London Irish didn't play in London but had I known at the time I would have happily signed any petition against it or supported any action taken by their fans. Have never been to CRFC as I don't like rugby, doesn't mean I want them disadvantaged or don't feel pride when a club bearing the name of our city does well.

Absolutely gobsmacked by that comment. After making a comment like that frankly I think you should immediately resign from the Trust. I don't see how anyone can hold a position in a supporters trust and say something like that. Did we not want support from fans of other clubs when we were opposing the move to Sixfields? A disgraceful comment.

This does seem to have been forgotten about, it does seem to highlight though (very close to home) how rugby differs to football, and therefore we shouldn't expect a football supporters trust to get involved with a rugby issue.

That's the whole point. With franchising the distance is immaterial. Its the damage it does to the club already in the area that is one of the main concerns.
