Good to see SISU vision, success and leadership just permeates from every aspect of the club. Lead from the front, lead by example.

Thing is, most fans were outraged every time a manager was sacked and saying how Pressley has to be favourite because of how good he is.... Pressley signing the 4 year was great news to most? The same as when Thorn was hired?
He was awarded this contract during the summer wasn't he?

WHAT A CHANCE...Webster shot saved

Says it all. And the chance didn't really warrant capitals imo.

The players we have deserve to be where they are. A poor poor team in a hard fought league will never achieve anything.

Anybody decent gets sold and we continue to dilute the squad year after year.

Off the field and on the field things are awful so it's back to the bar for me to drown my sky blue sorrows.

Happy new year all. PUSB

What about the manager? I don't think our players should be where we are as a "group".

Yep, a pretty accurate summary.

I see the manager as a passenger of our situation. Very easy to blame IMO with a below average poor L1 squad.

We are trying to find 11 diamonds in the ruff or bring in youth which when good gets sold. Complete.

Complete nightmare...

Not neccesarily.. but a team shouldn't be producing 0 shots on target in 90 minutes. And it keeps happening consistently.
No manager sends a team out to have zero shots. The formations he has played are not designed to have zero shots.
the stat you quote says as much about the players as it does the manager. Nobody takes to a football field and strangled of freedom of thought by tactics alone. The biggest factor that restricts on a football field is a players ability and a players attitude.

We are also playing effectively 6 in defence and 1 up front.

When we changed things against Fleetwood, the whole game changed.

I wouldn't say we have a below average squad, certainly one who should be playing better. Have a look at Jordan Clarke and how he suddenly became good!

As the last post, 1 up front with 2 midfielders sat in front of the defence doesn't cry out all out attack does it?

By the way this happened at home too...

Maybe not, but certainly not where we are now.

What do you think of Pressley and his tactics?

I don't like his tactics. I like him as person
I think you have to live and die by your decisions. As long as you have been given time and that they are your decisions.

I think if the Baker decision was soley his then that one alone in our current plight could lose you your job.
Also Adams should be here competing with Haynes.
If it was a decision taken over his head then above him needs to also live and die by their decisions.

For me as I have said so many times it seems simple

Experienced Goalie to calm the defence

Jordan back to play as a right back in a
4-4-2. Competing with Phillips.

Martin and Reda as CB Willis and Webster as back up

Haynes Left back (Reda back up)

We need two wingers
We need an influential no shit CM

JOB and Fkeck competing for the creative midfielder role.

Madine upfront supported by a pacey striker.

So we need to sign 7 players and release the following to sign the replacements

Allsop
Pennington (nothing against him but we have our own)
Hines
Tudguy
Jackson
Noble
Barton

Keep Conor, Maddison, Swanson Finchas squad players.

If we keep playing wing backs or this one up front system we are screwed.

Not being funny, doesn't matter if he is a nice bloke or not.

I don't get why he signs some wingers, then stops playing wingers. Then he signs shit loads of strikers to play 1 up front.

I am not sure if anybody else noticed about Fleetwood that as soon as Jackson came on and played with Madine up front (as well as Maddison just before) the whole game changed and we actually went forward with the ball.

We need an experienced version of Maddison who will link the midfield with the defence, playing both Finch and Barton pretty much says how he is wanting to play before we even kick off.

so even with that formation you can still have 5 players in the opponents half and that is without a full back pushing on. Formations are fluid, the only time they are perfect and not influenced is when a game kicks of. The biggest influence on a formation are the players on the pitch, how they move and how they move the ball.

Yep, we had that brilliant run under robins playing a 451 variant.

So why aren't they doing it? Either the players aren't good enough - SP signed them; the players aren't doing what they are told - discipline problem SP can't sole; it's what they are told to do - SP's fault or they can't be bother - SP can't motivate them. I can't see a cause where the blame, at least a good chunk of it, doesn't rest with SP.

He needs to make some tough decisions, for example fleck is free to leave in the summer.

In theory you can yes, but the centre midfielders get to an invisible line and stop. It is usually around the D area of the half way line :(

And when they get to the invisible line they usually pass sideways or backwards!

To be fair though, Jennings and Bailey were both pretty defensive, but they did allow sheff, Moussa and baker to get up and support McGoldrick.
