I#d throw the keys on the table and move to a shit pub 35 miles away and wait for my customers to follow.
I agree, then as soon as you walk out they offer you dirt cheap rent to come back. Once back they say they want to build trust with you, three weeks later a brewery have bought it ;)

We should get the whole Glasgow bin service to do an organized strike on ...

Ccc
Higgs
Wasps
ACL
And SISU head offices ( have I missed anyone ?)

Then we could start from scratch

This whole "people are not bothered about the Wasps takeover" line is a self forfilling prophecy.

SISU reaped what they sewn IMO. I wouldn't go as far as to say got what they deserved bacause CCFC were always going to be in the firing line.

But you seem to forget that the path we were put on falls under the previous owners and the council's culpability. Of course SISU have made it far worse, but they were given a shit situation in the first place. CCC and ACL's failings get forgotten time and again.

Well either way and despite my misgivings I shall be stumping up my £22 and making my 6th match this season tomorrow. All that said normally by now in the past I would have already done about 15. I hope we take the game to them and try and create some chances at least !

I consider myself a proper supporter , BUT wont (Nopm) go until Sisu have gone , Why fund there court battles !!!

In other words you are not a fan at all and if sisu went a new excuse would come along.

Back to OP

I enjoyed everything about the match last week apart from the match .. The seven in defense was so hard to watch ... Everyone around us was getting more and more frustrated . The tactics were so obviously wrong and it was like we played to loose .

If I lived in Coventry still I'm not sure id go regularly , but living on the south coast makes it hard to justify the cost to watch the team I love roll over and die

Well done to all the fans that went to Doncaster !! But it seems like we played the same again and I can't believe you haven't all gone and hung yourselves

PUSB !!

NoPM is just another excuse along the lines of "it's too cold", "it's too far", "it's too wet", "it's too expensive", "the football is shit", "the players are shit", "the manager is shit".

The best one I heard was some clown texting Cwr saying he was going to the fleet wood game but because of the news on the court case he couldn't go. Ha ha ha ha.

To be fair.... I would have checked the market price before I bought the pub. I would always leave a way back. I wouldn't slag the landlord off in public. I wouldn't have a spinmaster bullshitting and arranging customers' forums, I wouldn't knock the rent completely - e.g. have it paid to an escrow account awaiting a decision.... I would ensure there was always trust there. If another brewery did buy it, I would show through figures, that I have the Punters on my side and make an offer to be a shareholder or offer the Goodwill of my business for sale. Whatever happens, the landlord, the new brewery and myself would all be financially better off working together than suing each other, pissing the punters off or slagging each other off in public.

Personally I think any private landlord that rips off a homeless tenant and charged 10 times the going rate is an exploitative c**t but that's just me.

I may be old fashioned, but I think that any ruthless hedgefund owned by "the queen of debt" hardnosed businesswoman, must have been out of their commercial heads to have taken over a company being charged 10 times the going rate and then after 7 years suddenly notice that and say it was the landlords' fault - deserves what they get for being negligent.

So what do you think of the people who charged them 10 times the going rate at the start when they had no other choice? That's ok is it?

It is getting harder and harder to support the team I must admit, I don't think we could sink any lower but League 2 could be that point. Supporting the team is like getting a kick in the balls at the moment but for some reason I keep coming back for more!!!:censored:

Based on what they paying to rent HR back. Mad situation. Who got CCFC into this hole? CCC had to jump in and then Higgs. They had to justify why to the taxpayers, plus all this was soon after the PL and people thought we would be back in the PL "by Christmas" so to say. It was also before Lehman brothers and the resulting financial meltdown. That doesn't make it right, but puts in perspective. No it is not ok and SISU should have said so at the takeover.

Depends on the deal doesn't it? Or do you think £1.3 million was fair?

You're not answering my question then?

Can you name another 10 stadiums of a simular capacity to the Ricoh and tell us what the annual rent is so we can take an average and work out what the "going rate" is? Yes or no?

Yes, they should have said "we will only take over if the rent goes down to £x" but we dont know that either way if they tried or didnt (sorry if its been said). They did try and get the rent down before moving but were told no, as the past regime did didn't they?

I posted something similar on GMK recently, but what we have here is symptomatic of the Sky Sports generation.

At the tender age of early 30's I believe I am the last generation of 'old fashioned' football fans, who can remember before the premier league, sky sports, etc, when the best way to watch football regularly was to follow your local side. For too many now it's easy to come up with an excuse to stay at home, watch soccer Saturday, etc.

I don't think it applies specifically to City fans, but unfortunately we missed the boat with the premier league big money, and are at the sharp end of the problem.

Personally I'm there a lot less than I used to be due to my own sporting commitments, but whenever the chance arises I'm there with full enthusiasm (I didn't get to Crewe in the JPT, Arsenal away, Gillingham, etc, but have been to Wycombe, Orient, Yeovil, Preston, Vale, amongst others in the last 12 months, along with a stack of home games).

Generally though I've fallen out of love with the game of football, it's a glorified soap opera at the top level and getting worse.

Specifically regarding CCFC, I think the whole 'NOPM' is an utter joke and was blown out the water the minute we got Arsenal away in the cup. And regards to the sixfields saga, I was happy to say I followed city through the toughest of times, but that in no way means I was happy about the situation. Had there been any real protests/riots/invasions/disruption, then I'd have been happy to do my bit, but a few half hearted 'protest' by some internet saddos doesn't really cut it, although I also believe the general attitude of city fans was symptomatic of football as a whole nowadays, where fans have really lost their say in football. 15 years ago this wouldn't have been allowed to happen, but does the 'sky sports generation' really care that much, or are they happy to nitch about it all day on the internet and think they are protesting....?

Don't be such a facetious plonker Nick. They had a choice of doing "Due Dilligience" They could have said "We will takeover CCFC if the high rent is an immediate discussion point" or even..."We will takeover CCFC but the rent is immediately drastically reduced" That would have been ok, wouldn't it?

They were offered several final offers as I recall. They almost took one ( hands were shaken on a deal according to some, politely shaken whilst leaving according to others ). Their strongest position was at the takeover. The takeover was rushed through for the wrong reasons - the deal with Southampton fell through - ok we'll take this one then. The same as the new stadium. We have a football club in Coventry, let's build a stadium nearby. Right way is, if you want to build a stadium, search Uk. Find a city or area that needs a stadium. Check out re planning permission etc..Make a business plan to show to Investors, find Investors, get planning permission, get quotes for the build etc. etc. etc.. Wrong way - it has to be near Cov, anywhere near here. Oh, look, Nuneaton will do.

The nopm brigade and the hillers seem to hold themselves solely responsible for the club's return.

It's interesting that the majority of them also seem to be defending the wasps move to Coventry.

I would say the attendance plus the Wasps approach caused the return.

If the attendance was 5-6k they may have considered chancing seeing how Wasps got on before negotiating the return.

The point being that SISU were paying too much rent to someone you think of as a "c**t"? The answer being they chose to.

No you need to google the clubs history better. I said homeless which was long before sisu arrjved

I referred to that in an answer to Nick. SISU had the power at the takeover. Any residue shit is their fault for not having dealt with it at that time.

But let's just conveniently forget what went before.

But let's just conveniently forget what went before.

Why were SISU interested in what went on before? They are a hedgefund. They should at least be able to read a balance sheet and identify the problems. So, I would say if anyone conveniently forgot anything, it was the decision taker in SISU who went ahead with the purchase. Not Martcov.

It was you who seemed keen on the landlord analogy - now you seem reluctant to comment - perhaps you support landlords who blatantly exploit the homeless? I don't know.

I agree, I said that in the last one that they probably would have had more power then. I dont know if they did or didnt, I dont know why they didnt then or what the screw up was. Would be good to throw that question at them via the telegraph...
