So Pressley has no transfer kitty for January according to him on CWR.
This will in affect keep him in his job as no new manager will come here without transfer funds.
He will be shipping out players though he said..looks like its going to be a long hard slog until the end of the season to avoid the drop

Waggott: We Want To Bring Players In

By Covsupport News Service
Updated Monday, 22nd December 2014

Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott has said that the club want to bring in players when the January transfer window opens.

Writing in his programme notes for City's game versus Fleetwood Town, Mr Waggott wrote: "We are not looking to make excuses but the recruitment drive in the summer was based on another season away from the city and the cost restraints that brought. Some of the players we brought into the squad have undoubtedly strengthened the squad whilst others haven't quite fitted into the Pressley/MacFarlane model.

"In January, we want to bring players in, hopefully make permanent some of the players we have on loan and, also extend the loan of one or two already here. On top of that, we are also in talks with members of the squad whose contracts are up next summer with a view to keeping them here.

"We know recruitment is an area where we must continually improve and we have a network of scouts in plce now where we believe we can identify the best targets for the first team and also for academy and development levels.

"In League One, the approach to recruitment comes down to the 3A's - abilty, availability and affordability. Gettng the balance right between those three can be an art as it is a science and the work we do in January in getting that correct will have a big bearing on the rest of the season.

"Of course, we also understand that our players will be targets for other clubs from higher leagues and that is another factor that we have to weigh up and consider as we plan for January.

"It's going to be another busy period of activity and I will, once again do everything I possibly can to support Steven and Neil in improving the squad."

Does Pressley know this? Its the opposite to what he said..

To be fair, 90% of other League One clubs won't have either.

I missed the end bit, did he say we wont be bringing players in at all or no money to buy players?

to be fair, I wonder if many other league one clubs will be saying..

""In January, we want to bring players in, hopefully make permanent some of the players we have on loan and, also extend the loan of one or two already here. On top of that, we are also in talks with members of the squad whose contracts are up next summer with a view to keeping them here."

IF that happens then most league one clubs would be happy with that. Bar your Bristol City types with the money to throw.

The worry is we HAVE to bring players in or else, half of the ones brought in don't want to play here or Pressley doesn't want them here.

Of course they would, many prem clubs would be happy with that !......

He suggests...

1)Want to bring players in
2) make perm SOME of the players we have on loan
3) extend one or two already here
4) keep those out of contract in the summer

Feel free to repost this at the end of Jan. Let see how it goes.

Well that's an absolute certainty as we have one of the best defenders, /Webster, in the country, two of the best finishers SP has seen and a lot of players better than most Premiership players !! Haven't we Mr Pressley.

How about suitability, character, enthusiasm, professionalism and a myriad of other factors that are not unimportant. Now I like to make things simple and direct, but that statement is a gross over simplification.

“It is always difficult in January but we do some funds there to be able to move in the transfer window.
“We’ve got to make sure we use our budget properly and the preparation we’re putting in at the moment will put us in a good position come January.”

Didn't Baker take a hefty pay cut but is still one of their highest paid players?

Do these journalists never thing of asking a question that doesn't play it safe? Perhaps 'where has the money for the sales of Callum Wilson, Leon Clarke gone in addition to the gate receipts from Arsenal away rumoured in total to be in excess of £4m. 60p in the pound Steve? Weren't SISU committed to funding the losses, so that shouldn't be a factor...not to mention the departures of high profile earners, Moussa, baker, Adams? Were these footballing decisions despite Carl Baker being named Player of the month for League 1?'

And before you pipe up with 'to continue funding the club and to keep with running' bullshit RFC, a far more detailed analysis would be appreciated.

Relation fodder in league 1 with no money doesn't bode well for Pressley's promotion push which was his aim in the Summer!

SISU bought CCFC to make a profit. So far it looks like they have spent millions and got precious little back. I imagine this money went in loan repayments and/or dividends to SISU. They have a right to make a profit - I don't object to that. I do object to the amateurish mismanagement of the club.

I do. They don't have a right to make a profit, they have to right to TRY and make a profit by doing the right thing OR by striking lucky at the right time. No-one has the right to make a profit.

That money has quite clearly gone on funding losses/contribute to operating costs from Sixfields.

yes still paying some of his wages as part of the severance pay he gets so would have been better keeping him and not bringing in the likes of Tudgay etc.
shame we could do with him now.

Yeah must have been Joy signing Tudgay, probably fancies him or something.

The definition of 'player' is someone with two legs (but only has to use one) and the ability to pass the ball sideways or backwards. Must know what 'goal' means but need never have scored one.

The answers to those questions would be business confidential. And any journalist who asked questions like that would not get invited to any more press conferences. What the public is allowed to know is published in the financial accounts. In any case, you probably already know the answers. All income goes to the owners to do with as they wish.

"We won't be able to spend transfer fees but we'll wheel and deal. I've made decisions on loan players." - Coventry City's Steven Pressley

The City boss has stated the club will have to be 'creative' in the transfer market in January to bring in the 'right players'...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has admitted he has made his mind up about the loan players who are due to return to their parent clubs in January.

City have seven players; Seb Hines, Aaron Martin, Matthew Pennington, Ryan Allsop, Josh McQuoid, Gary Madine and Frank Nouble set to return to their parent clubs next month.

The Sky Blues also admitted there are players available for transfer in January which will open up the opportunity to 'wheel and deal'.

Speaking after the 0-0 draw against Chesterfield, Pressley said: "We won't be able to spend money on transfer fees but we'll wheel and deal.

"We'll have to be very creative in the market to bring in what we need."

The problem with wheeling and dealing, SW and SP has proved they don't have an idea how to do it!!!!!!!!! .They got rid of the clubs best players in pre season and brought in a sack of shit, the lot have only fell into 1 of SW A's,,,, affordable... SP every week fails deeper into losing any respect he had,, continually in denial about what the direction the club is going in...

SW should be ashamed about what he has done and SP has lost my respect for having no nuts to say it how it is...
