Where could a new stadium be? (7 Viewers)

Ignoring the major issue that its highly unlikely it will ever happen where could a new stadium be built?

We've seen the Bermuda site mentioned, there was a Warwick Uni site mentioned a while back (not sure exactly where at the uni, sure someone will fill that in) and Brandon (which seems a non starter). Anywhere else that is possible? A lot of people say it must be within the city boundary so where is there that fits that criteria. Remember it doesn't necessarily have to be empty land at the moment but would most likely be someone that isn't being used.

Lets see where people suggest. Hopefully we can avoid all the 'it will never happen' as we already know that. Just something away from the same old circular arguments to waste a bit of time.

sorry, just cant ignore the fact it wont happen, there is no point me guessing, as much as there isnt any point saying who would fit in better with "the coventry way" of playing, Messi or Bale.

It wont be in Coventry, thats pretty much a given

I would suggest on the site of Broad Street Rugby Club.

I m sure they would move for another big pay day.

Lots of land, near commercial development too, good road links too

if its not in Coventry they can stick it up their arse, but like others have said it will never be built hence the constant legal action by our wanky owners

But then in two minds because everything else he told you never came true.

the new stadium committee was told in June the location of the new ground, rumour at the time was close to the A46 South warwickshire, not far from leek wooton by the warwickshire golf club, they wanted somewhere to expand the fan base, ( not sure I believe that's possible, but it,s closer to Warwick leamington and kenilworth, not being in coventry won't go down too well

At least there's a nice hill by Gaveston Cross for us to watch from.

Can't see the point of putting it their the travel would put people off and supporters already travel from that area into cov already. Any move that involves travelling 6 miles outside the city boundary will kill the club. What kind of 365 day income can it generate out their?

The WUM is strong in this one.

Seriously though, I do know 100% where the new stadium is - it's inside Mr Fisher's head.

It can't be at ryton on dunsmore at the old Peugeot site as too much has been just built there in it's place.
What about next to the old Dunlop factory not far from the Ricoh . Is there not lots of derelict land there just ready for redevelopment ? Far too sensible for our owners.

Already having houses being built on it.

Sisu have left it too late, few years ago there were still a few old industrial sites that could have been bought up and developed. Most of those sites in Coventry are now gone.

No chance of it being built on the boundary due to the greenbelt.

Would you mind if I correcected your spelling?

I have just put the phone down to someone with the initials RFC. She says the new stadium will be built in Narnia. And I only talk to people in the know. So we will all know soon enough.

It will be built at the Gallagher retail park. They have already begun to move in . Over the next 20 years they will buy up all the units, the freehold, knock the frontages out and put seats in. The CCFC shop is where the new changing rooms will be. The central parking area will be replaced with a new pitch which will slide out to allow for concerts, sports events etc. Two new stands will be built. the whole stadium will hold around 75,000 . It will be called Highfield 2040.

As long as they give me a chance to pick up my reservation from Argos first...

I heard the club were having talks with Warwick University, there is plenty of land which currently has numerous cricket , football and Rugby pitches amongst other pitches adjacent to the main University, this inmo is the only land big enough to house such a development.

The University is intent on becoming a big hitter "already a top 5-6 Univesity in this country" it wants world wide recognition, and has massive links with TATA and many other huge organisations worldwide.

Infrustrucure is currently unsuitable, but rumors persist about a new road being built to join the A45 around the back of Canley, making the Tile Hill railway station extremely convenient for a new ground, as the crow flies it would be around two miles.

Also the potential site is Warwickshire county council not Coventry, so may be workable, please don't shoot the messenger, do I think it's a starter ? Probably not ! did I think they would go to Six fields ? Definately not !

But I'm assured talks of some nature took place regarding CCFC and TUOW

The issue with this again is that it is the greenbelt, therefore highly unlikely planning permission would be granted.

As far as it's position within the Coventry area - totally acceptable to me, but not far enough out for our owners I fear.

I hope it's not Bermuda as we already got the local council allowing planning permission on masses of affordable housing which is de-valuing my house, also I don't you horrible lot coming here every other week;) and also the extra traffic that a 365 stadium will bring.

I have no idea in Coventry but can't imagine for a minute the university will want to get involved with this shady lot!
