Is this some kind of joke thread, honestly the FOI plainly states no talks have taken place with any parties at all, and people are still banging on about where it could possibly be, no wonder Fisher is still being allowed to take the piss out the fan base at will. Get your fucking heads looked at their wont be a stadium, they cant even purchase a league one player for cash never mind build a 15-20m + stadium.

just a thought on this, (and I don't believe for one minute a ground will be built) now that sisu nor ccfc have anything to do with the ricoh , apart from renting the pitch, the stadium belonging to another spots company (wasps), and assuming that now the council have now been paid what they're owed. what objection could they have to sisu or a new owner applying to build another stadium in the city limits, smaller citys than cov have two stadiums.

The main reason it wouldn't be Warwick Uni is that there would be no benefit for the owners of CCFC. The whole purpose of building a new ground is to increase the value of any associated land. Why would the club do that for Warwick Uni who own the land?
If as seems the case under FOI no proper approach has been made to any local authority in the area then SISU would be taking a massive punt on any land that has never previously been built on. Bullying people through the courts doesn't usually work in the planning system.
This suggests to me that they must be looking at brownfield sites. Ryton would have been ideal. There must be other sites around coventry surely, of say 22 acres?

A thought has just occurred to me. Usually football clubs get in bed with a big retailer to get a scheme going. The retailer benefits from association with the sporting use and they bring the necessary money to the table.
If any approach has been made by the retailer and not the football club would a FOI request be easily batted back with an honest No we have not been approached by CCFC?
Could SISU be riding on the back of a Tesco say?

If there was to be an imaginary stadium built , check out Broad Street RFC on Google Earth.
They have moved at least twice for other development projects where the developer has purchased land and built the premises for them. This site was when they relocated for the morrisons and housing estate.
Substantial bit of land at least 6 pitches plus a football pitch large club house and car park plus a bit more land too.
Right on the A46 for access and its already in use as a sports facility so probably easier for planning as it would be an expansion rather than a change of use.

Unlikely to be Tesco but the theory is right. If for example CBRE have contacted a council but not mentioned CCFC any council could honestly respond with no.
Tesco are contracting Dave .
There Is saturation point on big out of town shopping mall/centres ,Aldi however are looking to build 200 new stores over the coming years .

This seems the likely explanation to me, as the FOI requests have been badly worded. There is no need to mention CCFC in the questions – just ask about discussions with ANY party regarding proposals for a stadium development.
Any land dealings could easily be in the name of separate entities in true SISU style – after all, even Coventry City Football Club Ltd. didn’t having anything to do with the football club did it? It was just a “non-trading property subsidiary”.
The owners could have cleared up the confusion at any time in the last year or so with a simple public statement, explaining why the FOI requests have drawn a blank. You’d think they’d want to defend their reputation, but no - they prefer to take the piss and keep people running round in circles. The same slimy attitude comes through in virtually everything they do, which is why I’m really struggling to retain my love for the club.

May aswell ask yourself the question "what would I spend my money on after I win the lottery", except there is probably more chance of that. If you want sensible answers then shouldn't you look at the whole question. Lets not forget that the club are still banging on about 60 acre sites because they still want a stadium, training facility and academy on the same site. This size of land is not just going to attract Sisu/Otium but also house builders, retail and business outlets and community ventures. That is where it is likely to become a bidding war and there is absolutely no chance of Sisu/Otium outbidding a house builder. There is too much money in houses at present and with the backing of government wanting more and more houses why would a shitty little stadium with what only can be described as owners who are economical at best with the truth stand any chance? So, what numbers are you choosing for the Euros this Friday?

The person that bought it wanted house,flats,restaurants and bars plus a marina on the canal,a veritable Sandbanks:facepalm: Mind you as an aside,another example of how multi nationals have destroyed the citys industrial base.
Haha, I did a couple of days work there as a school leaver. It was like that place in Lynch's ' Eraserhead'.
The air was yellow with steam and fumes with chemicals seeping thru the floors. For sure, for every year working there you lost a year of life....

My dad worke for Courtaulds fortunalely was transferred to Amtico when it started funny how a lot of the men who worked at Courtaulds didn't live to enjoy their retirement.
