Jordan Clarke to Middlesborough

Boro are rumoured to be one of the sides that have watched the 23-year-old in action for the Glovers with the Western Gazette suggesting the North East side would provide competition to Yeovil for his signature in January.

A team on it's way to the Premier League, wanting a pacey right back who can find the net when given the freedom, and they still have plenty of time to develop him.

One of the worst players I have had the misfortune of watching in a City shirt. Must surely be a joke. 2 good games for Yeovil does not mean anything.

Clarke is a confidence player, when confident hes alright but is prone to making an error when his confidence is low.
Comfortable on the ball, could of maybe done a job here for us sitting infront of the back 4, couldn't be any worse than Finch.

Not really. Another player who's mistakes are jumped on by City fans, whereas other players are excused because they can run a lot.

Always thought he had something about him, lost his way the last two seasons here. Was one of our best players the year we were relegated.

When was the last time he got a run of 10-12 games at rightback? He always looked ok at rightback.

Be amazed if he ends up playing any higher than the likes of Jermaine Grandison. Never rated him at all. More fool Middlesborough if they end up taking a punt on him based on a couple of goals for Yeovil. Hes been in and around the team for five years and been consistently poor.

Spot on, although a bit harsh on Finch considering his age 17. There were times in the Championship when Clarke looked very good. Great skill, good passing ability, can see a long pass, good character, improving with his heading. Not so good at the rough and tumble which has always let him down. He is a player who needs to find a postion to match his strengths, as he can sometimes be a liability in defence. Will only see if he can progress when he is in a good team with a good manager.

Jordan Clarke is an appalling defender, part of our back four that conceded so so many last year. As a full back he doesn't possess an attacking bone in his body. League 1 is just about his level.

Frankly I'm amazed at the support he is getting, can't remember too many games when I thought: "Clarke was great/good/ok today"

He is another player that needs away from the club to show his capabilities,, lacks in confidence and belief which effects his game.. He has athletic attributes that will allow him step up, if he has a chance and gets correct coaching he may have a chance.. But i would not be shocked if someone took a gamble on him ,, remember 90% on here thought Christie was Shit and Wilson would not step up.... What we all need to think about is the game today is not so much about ability its about players with multiple attributes that allows technique to be coached even at later ages...

I can 100% say for fact clubs look at Size, Pace, Strength and Decision making before they look at touch or game management, so what we look at in terms of ability as fans , other clubs and scouts are looking at other areas of the individual...

I'll counter that by saying both Christie and Wilson showed their ability on regular occasions. Jordan Clarke has not.

Clarke has been consistently one of our worst players since he broke into the first team squad. Can't believe he's still here

Right on the money here, however it is possible other clubs higher up are looking, hes going to cost them naff all, still has age on his side and will be a back up squad player if he steps up.

Ability to what!!! Scouts are not always looking at what fans are judging a player on.. For instance form is not something a scout will look at too much attributes of the individual are, Pace, Strength, Decision making and athleticism will be.. I can tell a bad player having a good game just a quick as i spot a good player having a bad one,, its all about attributes not form or flashes in games..

Cyrus Christie attributes: pace, skill, good first touch, strength, aerial prowess. Needs to work on his defensive positioning and final ball.

Callum Wilson attributes: pace, skill, good first touch, finishing, composure. Needs to work on his all round centre forward play.

Jordan Clarke attributes: Very good first touch. Needs to work on every element of his game (although coaching can only give a player so much, if natural ability isn't there) most specifically his defensive positioning, his reading of situations, when and how to go forward.

He isn't good enough defensively of from an attacking point of view to play higher than League One imo. You speak of his athletic shape like it makes him stand out from the rest of today's players, it doesn't, 95% of players today are in athletic shape. He's also a yard to slow to be anything other than a league 1/league 2 journeyman footballer.

Like Conor Thomas, Billy Daniels and many more we have produced he has been given umpteen opportunities to show his worth, under different management and coaching styles and frankly his potential levels are zero.

Clarke also has good pace, has decent passing ability.
