New stadium site is known (1 Viewer)

Could be what happens, but given that Wasps' finances are also allegedly, how shall we put it, precarious, SISU might wait to see if they go tits up and they can get the stadium for nowt then.
The new owners finances will most surely be on the up now because the Ricoh is theirs and all proceeds from all events will go into their coffers to further enhance their profile and success both on and off the field. The Ricoh is a lot more than the stadium where Wasps play their rugby, that comes second. Firstly it's a business and SISU have passed over their chance to be a part of it. It won't go tits or belly up and SISU now find themselves up the proverbial creek, not just without a paddle, but with a bloody great big hole in their boat.

I don't believe they truly intend to build a stadium, but I think the gullible souls they have taken into their confidence have been told 'Bermuda Park'. Is that right RFC??

Unfortunately people are shocked because the most important people are not been asked if they think it is a good site or if they would attend. ( the customer )

The reason no customer research is been done first.............?

Perhaps they are following the nick Eastwood philosophy of telling supporters fuck all until afterwards.

Seems to have you creaming all over him.

Wait for the great Jan sale?
They could sell ryton take the money and run...
I keep saying hedge funds don't build stadia
Also how can you keep a 12,000 seater earning money 365?
No hotel or exhibition hall?

Oops some close that crèche gate for heavens sake.

However if you want to try and be serous I don't think he told the Wycombe Wasps fans as they were not the main customer he was targeting. I think he was aiming to get a bigger fan base round the midlands region.

I think SISU will be depending on the current Coventry attending so if they want the project to work, it would make more sense if they got an idea what people thought.

Like Wasps and their fans, do you mean? It can't upset you that much as you won't have a word said against them.

You more than anyone. It's odd behavior for a CCFC fan to have more to say about what Wasps have done than what SISU will do next.

I am not sure why wasps are in this thread I thought we were not allowed to talk about them unless it was to say they are doing something that affects CCFC.

Go along to the Ricoh and see how it has affected CCFC.

Yes seen it thanks

This conversation about the location for the new stadium was not about Wasps and you brought them in. Whilst criticising another poster in a different thread for bringing them into a thread that was not about them!

Exactly. Like I said in a previous post in this thread they could dump the debt and go, leaving behind NOTHING. I hadn't even thought about Ryton but yes, agree with you Ecky.

highfiel;d road wasnt 365...nor are most other grounds. is it just a red herring......sure 365 revenue would be great but without other clubs manage well enough. Is southhamptons 365? they are the model (with decent owners)that we should be following

Surely if you have 365 access but no ability to run it and make money and it's cost a fortune to build you would be better off trying to get more people watching the games by investing on the pitch and staying where we are, if by some miracle you get to the prem all this 365 revenue doesn't matter in the land of milk and honey.

So is it within the coventry boundaries or not. North, south, east or west of the city if outside? you wouldnt be giving much away by disclosing that

I doubt he would be able to mate not with it being a load of bollox and all, I used to gt all chuffed when I heard rumours but having my heart broken over the years supporting city, I will not believe it even if fish fuck or the bitch come out with some fuckin plans ,not untill they start laying them foundations.

I can tell you exactly where the new stadium is planned.

timbob's imagination. Only place we are ever likely to see a new ground. Do these jokers not realise how pissed off fans feel when the selected few come out with crap like this? Sandra is supposed to be a fan, then she should know better
, either put up or shut up. RFC is just a WUM anyway and I doubt he/she has ever seen a sky blues match in the flesh unless he was supporting the other team.

The involvement of Garlick is strange. She seems like an intelligent woman but given some of her roles such as the chamber of commerce she's going to make herself look pretty stupid by getting involved if, as expected by most, there is no new stadium.

Has she genuinely been shown something that indicates the new stadium is happening or has she been duped by SISU? Surely she wouldn't put herself up as a target if she wasn't convinced it was going to happen.

This isn't scaremongering at all it's a very big reality. I honestly can't think of a way that the bastards who are SISU could turn it around. If you can think of a plan that involves profit for them and success for us then please tell. I'll put my hand up and say I don't understand big business and the finances that are involved but you don't need to be a mathematician to see that the sums just don't add up. It's also very obvious to just about everyone that SISU has no heart for the club, football in general and the feelings, patriotism and loyalty that us fans have for our club. And they undoubtedly have no feelings for us fans either. It will just be another business transaction for them.

It's the idea that they will load debt from other ventures onto CCFC that is nonsense. How exactly do you suppose they get away with that given the club as a business and not forgetting the FFP requirements that the club has to adhere to. There is no way either that liquidation will give them more back- the only asset of any worth is the control of the golden share, and they won't get a penny for it if they liquidated the club. It's exactly that kind of nonsense spouted that makes the situation worse.

As for how do they turn a profit... well that's a tough one. Realistically it's only ever going to come from on pitch success. The club is probably now just about ticking over, so they don't have to sell... sadly they are going to be here for a long while yet.

All those people that were so pleased that SISU got nothing out of the Ricoh were too stupid to realise that was probably the one chance we had to get rid of them.

Well ours asked were laughed at still did it, realised they had fucked up, came back, and are then doing exactly the same again.
Makes Eastwood look rather more professional then our lot. At least he brought somewhere first before moving ours just move first think later.

So talking of Creaming hows Tim.;)

I think this is fucking hilarious how everyone is taking this hook line and sinker, whilst SISU continue to take the piss out of us, no wonder once we returned to the Ricoh everyone has gone oh well then never mind all is forgiven as they continue to fuck our once great club over.

Its spin spin and more spin to keep the fanbase on side and wanting to be fed more bullshit knowing full well if we found out the OBVIOUS truth then a shit storm would kick up and they could lose their last little bit of revenue from the fans.

Nobody has fallen for it mate. The only ones suckered in are those championing it.

I welcome the diversion of delusion tbf more entertaining than what's being served up on the pitch.

Some interesting points here But SISU have definitely been maximising the losses that appear on the balance sheet. in 2010 the good will in the accounts stood at about £13m but SISU took a charge against this intangible asset so that it was reduced to under £3m. This is an intangible asset so no actual cash loss just accounting to maximise the losses. Then further there are other fees and inter company loans within the group .

Most people, would not have cared if they had made £100,000,000 if they had looked after the club on the playing side so that they could have purchased the RICOH. They are business people they are in it for the money.

The losses are there so that they have one final tilt at a payday if they are successful with the JR and these losses can be claimed back from ccc

St Mary's does make non-match day revenue...has about 10 rooms/suites that can be sold for meetings, conferences, exhibitions etc. Not on the scale of the Ricoh Exhibition Hall though but enough to make money on non-football days.

CCFC can rent rooms and sell packages on to make money. They don't have the added cost to maintain the facility.
Only trouble is they don't have product that businesses want plus they need to go to the trouble of doing it.
A successful team will generate interest to help put it all in place.
We need to stop being victims and get over it. That goes for Sisu, CCFC and us.

I have never had faith in the SISU stadium wash. But if, I will stick my neck out with a guess and say Broadstreet Rugby Club.....with Broadstreet moving to the old nursery site opposite Brandon Stadium.

why? Heard a rumour and there is a Garlick on the Broadstreet Board!

How could you block planning on a stadium that already exists?

Anything that makes money will be making it for Wasps not us -- have you seen the state of their balance sheet?
