Yes, and my point was can you justify protesting about moving to Nuneaton while supporting Wasps at the same time?

I must have missed that, in which case it makes sense. The guys behind this protest also support wasps ?

Do you find it ironic that so many people going on about this protest and saying if it is outside of the coventry boundary they aren't interested but now support Wasps? The message is that you won't support CCFC if they are moved to say Bermuda but support Wasps, is that not a bit floored??
And that is one hell of a generalisation. I for one don't support Wasps and have absolutely no interest in Rugby.

We don't know exactly who is "behind" it, but some of the most vocal ones about it are...

My point is not because SISU are amazing, it is because people are going to protest and rant about one thing then support it the next week...

Unfortunately the most vocal people seem to be so it is hard not to (apart from BHSB and LAST who are very vocal but not backing Wasps and have been just as vocal about that too).

You have people coming on here justifying wasps moving saying they had to who are very vocal who you can bet your life on that IF we moved to Nuneaton to Survive they would be totally against it.

only 1 of their 10 reasons for this protest hint at anything to do with a relocation akin to Wasps ?

1. Continued lack of investment in the playing squad
2. No attempt to prevent relegation into League one
3 Administration's and consequent point deductions
4. Repeated Transfer embargoes
5. Losing out on the Ricoh due to SISU's failed tactics
6. The unforgiveable act of tearing the club from its community and dragging it to Northampton to ground share at Sixfields against virtually all CCFC fans wishes.
7. Repeated failure to meet deadlines and promises that the club made themselves regarding land deals for this new ground
8. Considering plans to build a new ground to be built outside of Coventry - if it is not in Coventry then we are not interested. It's called Coventry City for a good reason.
9. Re-mortgaging of the training ground.
10. The sale of our best players for millions and replacing them with freebies and loan players.

Your protest is so important that you hide behind the old anonymity excuse?

You have no real interest in supporting the football team - you are just interested in pushing your own personal agenda.

Didn't see you protesting at HR against Richardson and McGinnity over the way they dragged the club into the breach by selling everything the club owned?
Didn't see you protesting outside the council house from 2005 to 2010 over the extortionate amount of rent charged to the club without any additional revenue streams being available to them?

Basically someone has been blowing wind up your arses about the promise of owning your own little share of CCFC.

If the Trust endorse this then they have clearly demonstrated they have no intention of trying to engage with the club for the benefit of CCFC and it's fans.

Perhaps they should go as well as SISU... claearly none of them are fit for purpose.

Been trying not to look or come onto the site, but just quickly logging on to confirm this is nothing to to with the Trust.

This press release is abysmal and is worsened by backers attacking any fans who raise questions about the clear flaws within it.

The idea of a protest voicing our discontent with SISU is a valid one, unfortunately it is somewhat spoilt by the implementation.

While Nick may have excessively made the point re timings, it is a fair one. Surely a pivotal factor in an organised protest is ensuring participants know when to protest! I am sure we can all provide an answer (wear a watch, set up a timer on your phone) however shouldn't the organisers provide this in order to establish consistency. Equally, what is the situation with the cards; will they be placed on seats? Are people expected to print there own? Will there be a universal card/sign created and uploaded onto here so all fans are projecting the same message? Both may be questions that delve into detail, but in this instance justifiably so.

Again, this point has been raised previously but what are the expected outcomes and next steps? Granted the long term objective of the protesters is 'SISU OUT' but what about short term? SISU are not just going to leave the Tuesday after the protest (or unfortunately at all) but what would be an acceptable quick win following the protest? What are the next steps? Is this a one off protest, a few minutes of fame and gratitude for the organisers and then.....?? What is next? If this protest does generate momentum what is the plan or next action/event?

While I am sure most fans want to voice there annoyance and frustration (in some cases stronger emotions) at the way we have been treated as fans, the lack of transparency, the poor communication etc etc, based on the opening statement of this thread, I am not sure the people behind this protest are the ones to lead us through.

Perhaps by answering the questions posed within this thread, outlining the long term strategy, informing us who is really behind the campaign (there must be a reason this protest push is randomly now), that may change.

It's all too late. Why would people pay to protest?

The only viable protest is to stay away. That would tell a bigger story to the armchair fans.

I'm not against a protest idea. The thing is, they're so sporadic it doesn't maintain any focus on us. If we want new backers, which I'm thinking is the ultimate aim, it can't just be something once in a blue moon. I'm not knocking it though, it's actually nice to see a little passion!

Great Expectations - lots of very valid points. My slant on this is very simple. There are too many questions being put towards those that would seek to demonstrate - what if, when , why etc. If we spend all out time questioning the motives of those who simply wish to sing or hold up banners/ cards then what on earth is the problem. Let them do it.

I recall Portsmouth fans travelling in their thousands to an away match in Ipswich a few years ago. After the game they refused to leave as a protest. It got lots of publicity. If it were Coventry fans i fear there would be far too much "it's too cold" "what's the point" "what if I miss the train/coach" " I need to go to work the next day and I need to get to bed on time". Are we a smaller club than Portsmouth? A couple of years ago I'd have vehemently said no, but maybe we are.

Surely if the protest is to hold something up at a certain time what is wrong with asking where to get the thing to hold up and when to hold it up?

I would hardly say it is "too many questions". If those questions are going to start offending people and making them start hurling abuse for them being asked or WUMMING then it is gobsmacking.

I don't think there are too many questions. An unknown group of people have made a big song and dance about this protest at the Swindon match... not once mentioning anything positive about supporting the team during the fixture.

It looks like a group of individuals attention seeking.

Just as another note on the topic of the protest.

Have we been in administration twice? This is a genuine question...

Granted there are a lot of questions but I would argue all are relevant, especially those around the actual event itself; timings, cards/signs etc.

I am not dismissing the idea as a whole, the situation just seems odd. The protest group rapidly emerged from nowhere, no background, no real context and the subsequent plan seems half arsed and poorly organised.

Don't think so have we? It was one points deduction for going into admin then another for coming out without a CVA.

That's correct. We've only been in admin twice.

Think a lot of the questions are because people don't understand what the ultimate aim is. If people just want to shake their fists and moan that SISU are rubbish then fair enough, not many people are going to argue that they've been fantastic owners.

The problem for me is what does it achieve? If SISU say to the leaders of the protest come and meet with us and tell us what you want they can't just say we want you to walk away and write off all your money while we hope there's someone else who fancies having a go at running a football club. Have some simple, realistic, aims and you would probably see more support. Look at the marches, simple message, easy to understand and a specific outcome wanted.

That's messing with my brain! Is it once or twice?

Maybe they mean 1 time in administration followed by liquidation?
Or they count in ccfc holdings (also being liquidated).

Well it did though didn't it, as it got the rent down by a fair bit if you look at it that way?

What a joke ............it was there for buying into 50% For many years earlier

But who would trust the shower of shit other than you?

how has the saved rent been beneficial to us?- the club have stated we will build our own stadium and will be only at the ricoh for 4 years. So, we have saved about c400k a year on rent. Off set against that the loss of ST and match ticket, club shop revenue for the Northampton exile plus subsequent losses as a direct result of customer dissatisafaction, and you are probably conservatively looking at a loss of income of c 3-4 million over the 4 year period vs a rent saving of 1.6m !!!

Not to mention the loss of goodwill, advertising etc etc etc

By my reckoning we are at least 2.4 m worse off, and the move to sixfields potentially cost us promotion!!!

to say the rent non payment worked is bollocks . It got us to where we are!!!!
I didn't say it worked, I said it achieved something...I didn't achieve what they intended though did it?

Again, If that's the only thing thing you can pick out of this thread that's the Joke isn't it?

No doubt more backup will arrive soon.

Seems, you are just chatting shit and making things up.

What is wrong with people, seriously? So in this thread it's been said people are bad fans for protesting and I never want sisu to go apparently.

did you miss the bit where I was saying get these potential owners to come out with their plan so we (including me) can get behind them?

There you go again very poor argument accusing People of making things up again.

From your posts on here Nick that is exactly what you look like.

You mention the Wasps in every tread You yourself accuse these protesters of backing the Wasps because they only protest against Sisu FFS Wake UP.

I have personally protested against every side but now it is all down to Sisu.
No one else at the moment has any say in what they do, or what becomes of our Club they have seen to that all by themselves.

That's why I make the point of saying not all and making the point of saying not you and bhsb by name...

The big question LAST is who out there is genuinely interested in taking the club on? SISU can only go if there is a willing buyer after all and the club in its current state is one mighty unattractive proposition.
