If Thomas played on a local park I don't think he would stand out as he is not that type of player, I wouldn't pick him in the side as he brings little to the game he is what the defensive midfielder role was created for talentless. Whatever happened to midfielders how went box to box now you have to be defensive or attacking why can't you be both?

He also stands outside the area for corners - not quite sure why but it isnt what id expect from a striker playing left wing or not. Nothink against him by the way but wouldnt you expect him to want to be in the area for corners?

It is frustrating, he was looking for the short corner, yet his height could be a benefit to us in the box!

And then towards the end, he was the corner taker! Neither served much purpose but again I guess he was instructed to play this way, which is more annoying

He's just not that interested in getting in the box, he was the same when he played up top in a 2, preferring to do most of his work from deep or wide right.

My new theory is that it was all due to the black armbands. They constricted the players circulation thus leading to the entire team's sluggishness.

I actually thought it crossed the line. There was a TV replay that showed the 'keeper scooping the ball up, and you could clearly see the ball on the ground beyond the goal-line. Unfortunately, the angle wasn't good enough to see if the whole sphere had crossed, but it sure looked like it.
