Council admits Ricoh Arena was not sustainable without CCFC (7 Viewers)

I'm not convinced that you understand business projections, if you're projecting profit, then you're projecting profit - not turnover.

And she's probably wrong by less than 0.000001% of the gross national debt of Trinidad & Tobago too, which is about as relevant. When you're making unequivocal statements about profitability to support a £14.4 million bailout (and then completely rolling back on it to justify a secretive sale to a franchise), then the percentage of difference in turnover isn't really relevant.

I'd hate for anyone here to pretend that Lucas and Coventry City Council haven't been caught in a clear and obvious lie designed to support a political convenience, by just throwing out random percentages.

You'll be telling me next that Wasps brings millions of pounds into the city everytime they play. It's laughable what people will believe is true, just to get one over on SISU.

My aim is not to try and convince you of anything. She was under £400k wrong on a large turnover, doesn't sound bad to me, she should have defended herself better in her statements this week.

One thing you will have to take into consideration is the financial problems Wasps have. Last figures I have is a loss of £3.1m.

So it's not just a question of ACL increasing their profit with £400t - Wasps have to increase their results by some £3m as well.
Or - ACL and Wasps will have to increase their combined result by £3.5m.

Is that possible? I think it is short term due to new sponsor deals.

What happens down the line is every ones guesses. But if they fail, the loan from the council could be at risk.

Do not forget they also have to repay the £14m loan - or do they?

Yes they do, but that is already included in ACL's loss of £400t. It won't change anything, I think.

2. The decline in profits was due to a more than 2m drop in revenue. So not entirely due to CCFC moving to Sixfields.

.

Was more than just rent though, all the match-day income would be a considerable amount of the turnover too I'd have thought, especially as the IEC figures are incorporated into ACL's now(which I think accounts for the pretty much doubled turnover for the last couple of years than previously).

Saying that ACL made profits every year except the one when CCFC weren't playing there and not thinking it relevant is spinning to the extreme.

Of course the Spinmeister General then brings up the huge legal fees that poor old ACL had to pay out, fees paid by the loser, SIsu, so irrelevant.

So you now say it was only £100,000 lost due to your(yet again) entirely made up figures and conjecture?

Would still be £800,000 lost due the club being away that year.

Also, after reading a few of your previous posts,on this thread and over the years, for God's sake learn how to spell "allude".

"Elude" is generally what you do when straight facts are required.

For someone who's quick to point the finger at others, you're the most condescending c**t imaginable.

Can you explain this from The Telegraph then?

The council claims it has spent in excess of £580,000 in legal costs but Sisu disputes the figures, meaning the remaining £330,000 will be scrutinised before a final figure is paid. Ricoh Arena operators ACL will have to meet their own costs.

Wasn't it because ACL didn't have to be represented but they chose to be, or something like that?

There were no extraordinary charges for legal costs in the accounts, though again it doesn't stop you making up a £400,000 figure up earlier.

Your figures are just an "elusion", and all is confusion.

And also there's no auditors note with regards the forward health of the business, which agrees with Lucas' view. Choose if you want to rely on notes in the accounts or not, as it looks like you're flopping both ways to try and support whatever point you're trying to make at any given time

I'm still laughing at being called a condescending c**t by you, like being accused of being a little Englander by Nigel Farage.

Nice sidestep from facing up to the challenge that you're using notes in the accounts as selectively as Ed Balls recalls his political career

Sidestepping?

Fucking hell, all you've done since the thread was started, by nice Mr Gilbert of the Telegraph.

Have you forgotten, or perhaps maybe didn't understand, what the title of this thread is?

"Council admits Ricoh Arena was not sustainable without CCFC".

Maybe if you stopped spinning your eyes might be able to focus on what's in front of you?

What view is that?

The win tonight for Wasps will probably mean a 25000 plus crowd for the winner takes all game against Leinster. No free tickets given for this game. Revenue will be huge.

They are giving away free tickets - no one is interested in the Franchise Filth here - fuck off.

Well I bet you go to the MK Dons game at the Ricoh.
Well I've decided not to go there for that game to watch a Franchise team play at the Ricoh hope you all follow suit.

We've had a lot of shit posts that are way off topic on this forum over the years but that one should be given an award. Do the PR company pay you extra for posting at weekends?

And if you think no free tickets are available for that game you are mistaken, well either that or my Dad is lying to me about being offered free tickets (and from more than one source), I know which one of those two I think is most likely.

I've no idea why these twats are on a Coventry City forum. I do wish they'd fuck off and talk about their franchise on their own forum.

So you are also saying there are no free tickets at all for that game?

Should I put the invoice direct for Wasps for the advertising?

Hasn't somebody like you being "intheknow" got anything else to do, being so important and all? Why are you even on here?

Good point. Is that their average loss over the last few years 3 million?

I haven't researched them, so can't say. The loss is from 2013 - don't think they have published from 2014.
I do know they were late paying wages once in 2012.

God you're boring. From now on I expect you not to mention Sisu's past failings, or yesterday's shite performance. Let's look to the future.

Don't be a prick. SISU still own the club. If you're too stupid to work out that means that everything SISU past, present and future is current to the club that's you're issue.

I'll make you a promise though. If when they do fuck off there is still a club to talk about I'll never mention them again. Until then they and everything that they've done, doing and going to do is relevant and I'm going to talk about them whenever I please. If that's too uncomfortable for you and the rest of you're cronies who consider my posts boring tough shit.

So it's alright not to talk about the council cos that's all in the past?

You can say what you like on this board.
But if you put up arguments slagging off the council you must expect to get counter arguments.
A lot of people, like me, believe the council had no choice.
I would also say you are naive to assume the council would wait until Sisu bought the stadium at their price just because of 5000 loyal CCFC fans, like me.

If you want to do it in the off topic section knock yourself out. Its probably smart to talk about things that are still connected to the club in the Coventry City General Chat section don't you think? Perhaps Nick could set you up an Ann Lucas sub forum?
