Apparently turned down 4 other clubs to come to us as it was "no brainer". The feedback from Yeovil will be positive, hopefully he will have a blinder against Rochdale on Saturday.

He didn't have too much to do @ Yeovil, but he did command his area, could hear him shouting/coaching the defence (good sign he feels confident to do that), Shot stopping remains to be seen didn't have a shot to save. Signs so far are positive.

Agree with that. Seemed everything stuck to his gloves. Could hear him even when he was down the other end.

Aside from the pen did either keeper make a save?

I think he could have the same impact as Joe Murphy. Confident and organised. All keepers will make mistakes, but claiming crossing and commanding the area will save us more than it will cost us. First signs are positive, hopefully he continues that.

It is probably too soon and I haven't seen him play but it is a good sign to start if they are confident and command their area.

How many goals have we given away recently with mixups between defenders and goalies or dodgy decision making?

With somebody in goal commanding the defenders and telling them it may help a lot!

Apart from the big save when they was piling the pressure on with his feet getting an important touch, geez keeper's don't just save the ball with their hands

I'd have thought (and having never played football could be wrong) that while command of the area is of course down to the skill of the goalie at that task it is also down to in a very significant part time playing with the team and developing an understanding with the defence. Not something conducive to 90 day loans. The goalkeeper needs to know how the defence will react in any given situation and vice versa, there is only so much information you can distribute and command you can have with a big gob when the ball is 2 seconds from being crossed in.

I agree they do need to know their defenders, but it does help if a goalie can see something from behind the defence and point it out to them quickly. If they see a gap or a runner they can tell them to sort it.

Be interesting to know who the others were. Does he mean no brainer as in we hadn't got a keeper so he'd be first choice or no brainer as in we're such a fantastic club he couldn't wait to come here?

Doesn't really matter he choose to come here so lets just back him whilst he is our keeper.

The Ricoh and Coventry's name makes it a no brainer for a lot of players. As long as the wages are comparable. It's lucky we are back at the Ricoh.

Can't be possible as we have the lowest budget in the entire football league.

No, I'm just over exaggerating some of the stupidity spouted on here.

your point is only valid when exaggerated though (not really even then), you don't know who the other 4 clubs are, you don't know what they offered and most importantly it's probably (close to certainly) the case that the amount he got paid was utterly unrelated to the team he chose, he has a contract in place that pays a specific wage, the amount we pay for him only affects his club not him. His choice wouldn't have been based on wages. Maybe he likes SP, maybe he wants to play at the Ricoh, maybe we were the only club that guaranteed he plays every game, maybe we were the highest league team that wanted him, maybe he has family/friends nearby and so the location appealed, maybe we were the most high profile team and he knows very little about what is going on here.

And you think Preston would allow him to come here if other clubs were offering to pay a higher % of his wage?

I think the likely scenario is Preston decided what they wanted and let clubs know he was available for x per week and 5 clubs said they were interested. Not sure how true to life football manager is when it comes to something like this.

Noggin attempts a football related post but fails to show the passion compared to when his best friends at council HQ are challenged.

His constant wumming is becoming very tiresome.

I am assuming you are the ultimate
council whore Schmee's other username but I have no supporting evidence.

Your support for all things council and lack of interest in CCFC related threads (I am struggling to find any rating thread contributions) means you ultimately are without worth or significance here.

I think this is the 3rd time you've accused me of being someone else, being wrong never seems to become tiresome to you, I admire the way you are steadfast and resolute in your opinions no matter how much the evidence points to the contrary.

Like the majority of sky blue fans my interest in the football has waned significantly over the last 2 years, when the owners of the club aren't even willing to do whats right by it they certainly aren't getting my money.

This is insignificant me though if it might help you and your constant state of confusion

I can assure you though I have more reason than most to dislike the council and dislike them I do. I'm just capable of looking at a situation rationally and fairly.

anyway I'll let you get back to your always on topic, whining, insulting and misrepresenting of peoples opinions, I know you want to get to 20,000 posts soon.

Loan is up after the Sheff Utd game. McFarlane suggests Pressley will be talking to him BEFORE his loan is up. Hopefully that's lessons learnt over the Allsopp saga.

What are people views on him? Keep him, or try and get someone else in (why not make it 4 GK's in the first team in 1 season :D)

Last Summer I spent a couple of hours wandering through Venice (including a spot of lunch) to show my then 8 year old son this view (not you Noggin), only to find St Marks square underwater and couldn't get through the crowd (missus didn't want to get feet wet) to show him. Gutted to be honest, and though I'm going back to Lake Garda this year, I'll take him to the ampitheatre at Verona this time. Italian tourist information blog over!!

You were unlucky as it floods about every 4 years and doesn't last long.

Guess it depends on what other options we have. I wouldn't be unhappy if we kept him for the rest of the season but if we could get Murphy back as a couple of people suggested might be not the cards then let him go back and keep Burge as back up.

Agreed. If Kirkland or Murphy were available I'd have them back, but can't see them being let out tbf

Interesting points made In the CT'S
comments section on this and the poll quite convincingly backs them up with close to 75% backing Jones's retention
Have to say I concur
Seems to be further evidence of short term confused muddled thinking.
