Getting to Ricoh (3 Viewers)

Hi there apologies if I'm on the wrong thread but I'm a Bradford fan making the trip to the Ricoh on the 10th March and staying over the night in a hotel just round the corner from the train station and just wanting to know the easiest way of getting to the Ricoh from the train station and back to the train station once the game has finished?

Is it cheaper to get the bus or taxi? Because it seems a fair way to walk and also if anyone knows the last bus back to the train centre would be much appreciated!

Hi James, welcome to Coventry. The bus will be cheaper if you're on your own, but if there are a few of you a taxi will be quicker and easier and not much difference.

Does the Ricoh bus go direct from the train station, does anyone know? I've not made that journey, I always get a taxi from town with a few mates in truth; £3 - £5 each typically.

Hi James, pain in the arse isn't it with the fixture moved from the Saturday 14th.

Yes you certainly won't walk it but bus or taxi is fine. Taxi would be my bet as between a few of you it will be around £5 each and you don't have to wait on buses and sit with common folk (I jest) but you know what I mean. Your own personal space in a taxi to have a laugh with your mates.

As for coming back, flag down a taxi or call one to pick you up from Ricoh tesco. Same price back.

Enjoy the game but I hope you lose as we need the points. I'm sure other will be helpful with ideas also as we a normal, kind, friendly bunch on here (sometimes)

If you're staying over best bet after the game is head into the casino for an hour or two. That way you won't be paying for a taxi to sit in a traffic jam.

You already have had some good advice about getting to the Ricoh.

I want you to leave with a good impression of our city and with this in mind I thought I should offer you some advice on something else you mentioned in your post. You say you are staying at a hotel that is around the corner from the railway station - if the hotel you are planning on staying at is in Warwick Road (which is near the railway station) you may want to look at some hotel review sites.

irony not lost on me that the London Wasps move to Coventry, yet give their fans advise on how to get to "the nest" on foot...

Sorry for going off thread. Get a taxi from town and hit the casino for a couple of hours. Back to the casino after the game and get a taxi back to down £100 lighter from the gambling, but with 3 points in the bag

James, If you want to have a good time at the match come to the Wheatsheaf with your mates before the game.It's on the Foleshill Road not far from the Ricoh,just ask the taxi driver at the station and he'll drop you there. Proper boozer and good banter on match days.The Casino is next to the stadium so if you fancy some gambling you'll enjoy it and seeing your team is doing well you'll probably end up winning !

please check out www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ as some of those hotels are not fit for animals let alone humans.

At least our town centre doesn't end up under three-feet of water everytime it rains, eh Torchy.

(Appreciate you're probably talking about the Ricoh here rather than the City, but who could resist a cheap shot at our south Warks cousins.) :)
