as a long serving member of GMK I'm quite glad we are able to keep the riff-raff out!!!!:-D

Forums are all about anonymity though. There are some who are less than anonymous than others, sometimes we all decloak and bump into each other at games/protests/tomato juice orgies. I'd be very concerned about a forum that pre-banned people however... even if they were Tim Fisher, Ann Lucas, and Nick Eastwood in disguise. Even when they seek to manipulate it's often obvious to the non moronic... and enough hints are flagged up now and again which, interestingly, are often let slide within a thread and ignored... ;)

He'd also be breaking all kinds of rules to 'out' people... and it's only so easy to ban people for being manipulative as where do you end?

Anyway, GMK still the greatest from days gone by, quiet now, sadly unwieldy to use... some of the more moronic on here remind me of former posters there, shall we say, who were all over SISU like a monk over a lapdancer. To say it's pro-SISU is to show an insult to the likes of brocco and fergynn really, and shows a certain idiocy to claim a whole forum as such unless poking, and poking hard (back to the lapdancer?)

I agree, even Fisher and Lucas are entitled to their opinion. If they come onto here and portray things from their own point of view, or even lied, it is up to us as individuals if we believe them or not.

I still maintain though how can we know someone has a vested interest when they are anonymous?

As for saying GMK is pro Sisu is insulting to some of their users, I agree. However the logic that GMK is pro sisu, is as logical as saying SBT is pro council, yet that is the line that Les is trying to pedal.

The one thing we as fans all have in common is we are pro CCFC. If we are against one group (Sisu, CCC, Wasps) it is because we care about CCFC. I am not sure that the same can be said of Les. It is very ironic that he accuses us of having vested interests.

Les Reid has a vested interest in keeping this whole tiresome story in the news, and making it as dramatic as possible. It sells papers.

One of the most entertaining threads for a while.

It's fantastic how the same "fact" can be interpreted in such different ways.

On the one hand an award winning campaigning journalist's comments only go to prove the superiority of GMK over the infiltrated and misled SBT.

On the other hand the whining of an embittered washed up hack shows how out of touch the closed cabal of GMK must be.

And we wonder why all the fans can't unite

I can tell if people have a vested interest due to the details people enter when they sign up and being able to use Google, also the duplicate account spotting software.

I don't disagree with that either tbh. It's an insult to...

my point was more that if it is fisher or lucas they should say so. at least PWKH didn't hide behind a dodgy username - unless he had multiple accounts.

I can understand that you can spot duplicate accounts, but how could you tell who they are?

How would TF or AL setting up duplicate accounts appear any differently to me doing it? (not that I have of course!)

Once you have one name, you can extrapolate...

Sometimes to the lazy it fails. If I worked, say, at a council and posted from there, then I could easily seem to be Ann Lucas.

There can be more sensitive trends though ;)

FWIW I often find it fascinating as a little game to try and link who to who in terms of writing style. Get it wrong more than I get it right I suspect ;) but hey, it whiles away another council v SISU v Wasps night...

I suggest to Nick that the thread title is a worthy marketing slogan for SBT, it's a fine anti-endorsement. Or "Sky Blues Talk: the forum that Les Read hates!"

There are different ways of doing it sometimes.

If you or them were doing it properly I wouldn't be able to tell, however if one of the accounts was [email protected] and had been used on other websites by her then it makes it look a bit obvious (unless her email was hacked of course)

This is difficult really, on one hand if people have multiple active accounts (not just they forgot password and made a new one after months away or something) then I think they should be named and shamed but only in the cases where he is 100% sure, just having the same ip isn't enough, because of brothers/dad and son/husband and wife/neighbour sharing wifi. If he does post someone is multi accounting though he should post all the accounts, what happened with Schmmee? did he just say Schmmee has more than one account or name them? Should name them all or say nothing.

naming people with a vested interest is even more difficult a choice, if someone is a main protagonist in this mess I'm not sure they should be able to post with impunity however if someone just works at the council or football club they should be able to post anonymously and revealing them might get them fired if they have slagged off their employer.

I do think Nick should either put up or shut up though because this half and half stuff is just creating even more mistrust, suspicion and arguments and this place already hateful enough. I was accused of being Schmmee yesterday not that what Grendel says bothers me at all but it does show there are consequences to revealing things.

so how does it work? can Reid substantiate his claim that there are vested interests on this site and by inference not on GMK? and following the same logic whose vested interests they are?

Shouldn't think it matters so much now, most of them probably stopped posting after the Weber Shandwick contract ended with the sale of ACL to Wasps....

Well, maybe by reading Nick's posts he can see there is...

Maybe Knowl is a bit cleverer with what he divulges... or hasn't got a clue?? :)

It's enough to cause outrage on here.

Total meltdown. I like it on here purely for the arguments and seeing how many easy likes I can get with a shit gif. I was on GMK for years with the same username. Used to enjoy it but now there's not enough active members.

This place is full to the brim with pissy little bitches though. And one Les Reid comment not even naming this forum (there are several other ccfc forums with an active user base) has shown it yet again.

All fun and games though nerds.

There definitely are quite a few, though don't know who they are, Nick has never outed them yet(apart from Schmeee last week, but didn't say what his other username(s) is/are.

Wait. What?

I have other usernames? This should be good. I hearby give permission for any admin to name any other usernames I have ever used.

You telling porkies again Nick? Or are you on about that time I used my Dads laptop and accidentally posted as him then asked for it to be deleted?
