So what happens if Sisu haven't sold up in 6 months? 12 months? Another poll?

If anybody cares, and I seriously doubt they do, here are my thoughts on the Trust's stance.

"Something has to change" http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/news-opinion/coventry-city-owners-sisu-sell-8566206

There isn’t much every Coventry City supporter will agree on, but whether you agree with the Sky Blue Trust’s latest stance or not, one thing is clear.
People have already voted with their feet – 7,606 against Rochdale on Saturday was the lowest Saturday home crowd since 1962. Whether or not the owners leave, the fans are leaving the club.
.................

There was even a debate about this on here the other day. Completely agree with you Simon !

And that has hit the nail on its head.

And that has hit the nail on its head.

yet some dont think so.

Fans are leaving and not protesting. Those still here cant buy merchandise, or if any of them moan its them being drama queens.

7606 included season tickets holders who didnt attend as well. We could be easily at 6k attendances next season

SW: Excuse me Joy, have you seen the latest press release from the Sky Blue Trust?
JS: Go on...
SW: They did a poll... and I'm afraid it's bad news.
JS: How bad?
SW: They said.... and they don't mean you personally... but SISU......
JS: Just tell me straight... I can take it.
SW: Well they said you have to go.
JS:Go where?
SW: You know.... go. Leave.
JS (on phone): Tim.. you better get over here and quick.

30 mins later...

JS: Where the fuck have you been?
TF: I was laying a brick.
JS: At the new stadium?
TF: Of course not... just had a bad Vindaloo last night. I'd leave it 10 before you go in there Steve.
JS: Anyway... Steve - tell him what you told me.
SW: The Trust have done a poll... they said we have to go.
TF: Go where?
SW: Away
TF: Are they thick? We're away at Prestatyn on Saturday.
SW: No away from the club... forever.
TF: I see... and when we go did they say who was going to come in instead? Has Hoffman managed to scrape together a fiver?
SW: They didn't say anything about that.
JS: Well Tim... what are we going to do?
TF: Fuck em. They make the Lib Dems look popular.
JS: So your plan is to do nothing?
TF: Yep.
JS: Shall we try and sue them?
SW: We could try and talk to them
TF: Settle down Steve.. just you concentrate on getting some kids for Elvis to ruin. Let me handle this.
JS: So what are we going to do?
TF: Absolutely fuck all.
SW: But what if they do another poll?
TF: Steve.. I've got this. Trust me.

TF goes to leave the room

JS: Where are you going?
TF: I'm going to make some shit up for Sandra. She's been hassling me for info on this new stadium.
I got one of the work experience lads to knock up a new picture on Photoshop. It's looks the bollocks.

We produce stories, they get discussed on here. Win-Win?

Thats a "story" is it? Great that the Telegraph is out there doing real investigative journalism and not just lazily reprinting Told You So press releases from the discredited Sky Blues Trust.

we all get the chance to vote out the council (though remember the vote was unanimous) we don't get the chance to get rid of sisu, other than to vote with our feet with the forlorn hope it will encourage a more speedy departure.

dont worry he doesn't believe what he is saying, he's just trolling

No I am making the point you ignore in your post above

At council elections people hardly vote - only 35% - this is I suggest due to the fact people know nothing will change. They are stuck and have no voice. This is not indicative of supporting the status quo.

So in the participation of the poll is it apathy or supporting the status quo?

No you are trolling, otherwise you wouldn't have ignored my other post that was directly to you, the one that that showed you are a hypocrite and don't believe what you are saying. We've only had 225ish votes on the should we sack Pressley thread, there is thousands and thousands of members of this forum and many more who just visit as guests, hell we have over 330 people viewing the forum now. Yet you don't believe only a few percent of this forum want Pressley sacked.

You know full well that the respondents to the SBT poll are enough to be very representative and if anything the ones that didn't vote due to having given up on this whole mess are even more likely to chose sisu out than the ones who are still engaged.

Getting over 20% of people to do something from an e-mail that doesn't really matter is actually a pretty good response.

Council elections are badly attended though due to the fact that virtually no one is actually informed on what the councillors stand for, almost everyone has heard of none of the candidates on their ballot paper so people that can be bothered to vote mostly vote for the party they support in the general election. But this is really not relevant to whether this poll is representative and I'm sure you know full well that 80% of SBT members wanting sisu out is extremely likely to be accurate +- 5%

Living the dream.

They are not used to vans in Southam and probably torched it thinking it was something to do with witchcraft.

Make a name for yourself, and get 'Piss Off Sisu' on the front of the Telegraph. Its about time the paper got some balls on the issue. ;)

What a surprise, I think we all understand that for a newspaper to exist it needs to draw traffic to it's ads and understand that (despite quite how ridiculous and annoying the cet site is with it's intrusive ads) but that simply isn't the case with a normal poster giving their views. I stand by what I wrote and no I don't think it should apply to newspapers and yes before you ask that includes Les Reid and the Observer.

The forum just couldn't exist if we all as arrogant as to think our views were so important that we could send people to another site to read them.

Whilst I get where you are coming from, LJC_CCFC puts fair amount of effort into his blog, I don't always agree with him, but why shouldn't he post it on here?

Not sure that's the case. Given the options were sack everyone or sell up it's hard to say with certainty that the others didn't vote because they have lost interest rather than because they don't agree. You could also make an argument that, given the Trusts stance on issues in the past, those who are 'anti' SISU, for want of a better term, are more likely to be members.

The problem is how do you get a more representative response. Obviously you need a less leading question with a wider range of options but how do you cover more of the fanbase? Maybe you'd have to poll the crowd on the way into a game. I would guess that would give you the biggest response.

You would make it a survey monkey type poll, then post the link on every city forum, every facebook group, get the telegraph to post the link, post it on twitter.

In theory if you REALLY wanted to, you could get an ipad and go around the pubs before the game.

Like you say, the question and choice of answers were a bit strange, so people probably ignored it. Also the method of sending your answer as an email subject isn't the most hi tech / accurate.

Your rather tedious throwaway trolling line seems to be your get out when you are behind in a debate (something I would imagine is a common trait in your life if your performance on here is at all representative).

With regard to the Pressley out thread - this is extremely relevant. The 225 votes is I would suggest an extremely high proportion of most frequent users on here. Many people will sign up and not use the forum or do so very infrequently. The relevance is similar to the trust. Most members were enrolled in a period a couple of years ago. Most of these now disregard themselves as members. In essence it's a clique if a few people who represent no one.

You suggest the disparity in votes between council and general elections is due to the knowledge of the participants. I disagree. I would suggest if I asked anyone on here who was standing for Tory or Lib Dem in any coventry seat at the next general election no one will have an answer. However 70% will still vote. Council elections are less popular because of the total disaffection in local politics - it is a closed shop where councillors play a political game but ultimately are far more akin to each other than the national position. The disaffection in coventry I suspect is a symptom of the fact gat the city has been let down by both parties in terms if redevelopment and infrastructure and is now a very poor relation compared to the likes of Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham in terms if consumer appeal in the city centre retail experience.

As for 80% want them out - I expect a large percentage are only members now due to the fact they once paid a pound. Like the council they have become frustrated at their lack of credibility, especially with their latest dalliance with franchise colleagues.

Most want new owners - most also want transparency in a viable alternative.

There were 3 options, sell up, sack everyone or neither. so anyone who didn't agree had the option of neither.

It's perfectly possible that the members of the trust are not representative of the whole fan base I agree, personally I think they probably are but I wasn't arguing that this result is representative of the whole fan base, I was arguing that this result is representative of the SBT membership. Grendel was arguing it isn't due to less than 25% turn out, I think thats nonsence and he knows it.

This question was perfectly reasonable and not leading, do you want sisu out, the board out or neither is a perfectly fair and reasonable question. Yes it would be need more options to get the full picture because some might want sisu out but only if someone they thought was better was already prepared and vetted and ready to take over.

Trolling is a word I use for someone who posts something they don't believe in order to try and wind others up, something you do with frequently, you've even admitted it in the past. The only person I've used that word for in many months is you.

Look at the way you try to twist things, "an extremely high proportion of the most frequent users" I'd suggest that a little under 25% of trust members voting is also an extremely high proportion of the people who actively take frequent interest in what the trust are doing. You know full well that this result is extremely likely to be representative of what the SBT members things within a reasonably small margin of error. In fact you haven't even specifically said you don't think it's representative, you've just used weasel words to try and discredit it in other peoples minds.

anyway off to finish my betting before bed.

Yes maybe the Trust should disband only 18% have bothered to vote it is about the same amount of fans we have left since Sisu took over,

Funny but the one s who attack the Trust always try and paint over the actual state our owners have reduced this club to be interesting to see how many are left next season?

As usual you speak up for torch let him fight his own battles or is that your alter ego.

Yes of course it is my alter ego, because how could more than one person have different views to you?

You had better speak to your trust buddies about duplicate accounts if you have issues with them, to keep the balance and stuff.

Maybe you should pipe down then and let the Trust fellas fight their own battles?

I was just pointing out it wasn't a dig at Simon as I didn't know if he knew what was meant by it, I don't even think it was a dig at the trust either?

Look in the mirror for what? Where have I accused people of having an alter ego because they have a different view to me?

I pointed something out to Simon as I didn't think he knew how it was meant, yet you have a go as I am "defending people". Yet you are on here constantly defending the trust 24/7 or when people ask actually constructive questions.

Tim got to me? Never met the bloke, never planning to. I think you are a bit paranoid. How many times have you met him again?

I will keep blaming anybody who has done something wrong in it all.

Paranoid as anything with the little conspiracies you must love to talk about, probably like the people you think certain users are that are miles off.

I haven't been "had" by anybody, you say this after you lot were sniffing round the back of Haskell like dogs in a park. Hero worshipping Elliott like he had just saved the world and suck up to Hoffman.

Ha, it is probably because of the dicks on Twitter when I joked I was Tim Fisher and they believed it.

I have never met Tim Fisher, Joy. I met ML once when you were there, not been fussed since and couldn't be arsed with it at the time. Quite clearly I have been "got".

Now, what was that about the trust meeting the Wasps people and now suddenly being fans of franchise sport? I would look closer to home if you want to start throwing that about.

I don't blame the Trust for this mess, I don't blame the council for the players we have on the pitch, I don't blame Higgs for Thorn being dog shit. I look at the different things rather than just having one vision.

Whereas we miss a penalty and people's first thought is to shout "fucking sisu" or "joy is a bitch".
