Trust calls on Coventry City FC owners Sisu to sell-up and leave (25 Viewers)

The football must be really bad if the hot rumour is a forum admin has been nobbled by the Chairman.

Next it'll be that Nick and LAST team up to go dogging up Baddesley Ensor.

Nah, I stopped that because he insisted on eye contact.

Is there only 2,800 trust members? Thought it was more than that. So even with a completely loaded question they only get 18% saying SISU out. When will the trust be revealing their plan of action to remove SISU. I'm sure they have one and someone lined up to come in and replace them otherwise the whole thing would be a pointless waste of time.

Tbf, if people didn't want SISU out they could have said so, especially seeing it as a loaded question. Seeing that most were not bothered enough to counter the question, it would appear they were content to allow the expected SISU out message to be confirmed.

Surely everyone wants Sisu out? Except Nick who's hanging out the back of Fisher.

It wasn't about wanting SISU out though was it?

I am pretty sure if it said "if you reply yes, and we get 10,000 yes replies they will be gone". It is just asking what to put in the next open letter to Tim Fisher. It was either "do we demand they leave" or "do we demand they sack themselves".

This is the process:

A poll like this happens
Headline that Coventry fans want this
An open letter is written (in this case demanding SISU go) and may as well say "you are absolute pricks, fuck off" but trying to be diplomatic
People get outraged SISU didn't go

Then it starts again.

I agree that nothing will happen. SISU own the club. They dictate to the fans what will happen. Fans don't like it, but own no part of the club. If it was just about football or achieving success, maybe they would listen, but football is only a part of the game here. There is the JR, selling young players with potential and property speculation which come before investing to achieve sporting success.

It's alright asking Sisu to go, but what are we asking them to do? Liquidate? Put the club into administration? As far as I am aware there has been no serious interest from any other parties in buying the club. And, frankly, what exactly is there to buy of any value? someone will either have to pay well over the odds or buy for a nominal fee with the debt intact.

As romantic as this theory of forcing them out is, I don't see a realistic chance of that happening.

Isn't that the same argument though as sticking with Presley?

As far as I'm aware no one else has applied for the city job since Presley has been here, so that must mean no one is interested.

If Presley gets the sack, we could be left with no manager.

No, it's completely different. Pressley is an employee. You cannot be left with no owners. Someone either has to buy or they liquidate.

If we are asking someone to buy we need to be asking someone other than Sisu. They can only sell if someone makes a sensible offer.

We all would. There isn't one person who doesn't want them gone, but if there's no one out there with a serious offer then they will stay.

I'd love someone to come and buy us I just don't see who.

Do you think sisu will go if offered say £5m a fair serious offer?

No, not with the money they have put in and hold as debt. Not unless there is an agreement to pay that back at least.

Not convinced we have £5 million worth of assets either.

Same question to you. Do you think they would?

I think other prospective owners are waiting for them to fail and bail relatively cheaply.
I don't think they can service the debt and run the club and build a stadium.

From The Trust Aims & Objectives:

To achieve these Aims the Trust will:
  • seek to work in partnership with the Club and all other stakeholders in CCFC;

How can they divert from their strategy based on a call from 18% of their members?

Is it any wonder if only a few take them seriously?

Their trying and your doing nothing but criticising ? :claping hands:

In which case the club is screwed.

I would of thought they would be off like a shot. Only because they have no chance of getting back their money now so why stay? If someone offered say £5m and maybe a clause or two if we get promoted etc they get another slice then yes why would they stay. Ccfc is doing nothing for them and hasn't in 7 years. Would ccfc be worth more or less in 3-5 years time with sisu in charge? It will be worth less so now is the time to go. The Ricoh was the only reason they stayed with us now that seems impossible we are nothing for them other than a nuisance. More fans next season will stay away again and not renew so people are voting with their feet just slowly. If we got relegated to league 2 which is a real possibility then gates will be no more than 5k.

All very interesting and worth debating.

They will not go until they have exhausted their pursuit of CCC through the courts. They have at least a chance of a damages case should the JR find in their favour. if the JR goes against them then what they have will be CCFC and all the assets and liabilities + the golden share at that point i would think they may sell up

If I was the Trust I would give up if some of the opinions on here 'really' represent the majority of City fans.
But they can rest assured they don't.
We know who they are on here, they will never change so don't let them distract you in what you want to say.

We need one group to represent the fans or we just wander aimlessly in Sisu's shadow.
The Trust is the start and if not ideal needs to be changed by it's members in a helpful and informed way.
We need people to step up to the post not sit behind their keyboard sniping. That's easy.

I've been on several committees running equestrian events, car clubs, etc and I always find a few people criticising the way they are run but not actually stepping up to help.
Sometimes the criticism is constructive and helps but just slagging people off is destructive and helps no one.
Most people just go to events, are happy with whats happening and never voice their opinion. If they are not happy they usually quietly vote with their feet.

The Trust should take pride in what they are trying to do.
There will always be better ways to do it and more able people out there, but if they don't come forward things will never improve.
I believe we have a few passionate people running it, some who's only qualification is their love of CCFC.
We could do with people accepting that the Trust is our mouth piece, getting on board to advise and perhaps making the Trust the force we need to influence the situation.

I have nothing against the trust, just don't understand exactly what they want to come of asking Sisu to go? Do they mean they want them to put the club up for sale and state a price? Do they want them to liquidate? Are the trust arranging a purchase of the club either through a wealthy backer or asking fans to chip in?

It's alright saying Sisu Out but it won't actually do anything. We all (well, most) want them gone but they aren't just going to walk away and gift the club to someone else are they?

eventually they will walk away with nothing but losses and debt how they choose to do that is up to them, they know noone will pay anything for ccfc as they got it for £1 and a load of debt.
As fans all we can hope is that is sooner rather than later

Living the dream.

They are not used to vans in Southam and probably torched it thinking it was something to do with witchcraft.

Make a name for yourself, and get 'Piss Off Sisu' on the front of the Telegraph. Its about time the paper got some balls on the issue. ;)

Oh, they have done all that - dont forget it was Simon and the Telegraph who claimed to have got us back to the Ricoh with their brilliantly timed campaign that started... just before we got back to the Ricoh...

It's funny how upset the group of fans that insists they hate sisu as much as the rest of us get at a poll about wanting sisu out.

Sadly SISU will simply ignore this and the Preservation SB campaigns. They will not walk away or sell until they are good and ready. Clearly they are still fixed on legal action.

That legal action now names both SBS&L and Otium Ent Group as injured parties - ie the club - so until that gets resolved CCFC will be forced to take its chances with SISU.

Any potential suitor, unless SISU backed or supported, is likely to fail right now

Don't see the big deal with this poll to be honest. It is what just about everyone on here is saying isn't it? All it has done is formalise that thought to some degree with a poll of some sort
