Goalkeeper in my book simply HAS to be Bill Glazier. 10 times the keeper Oggy ever was.

But did Bill Glazier ever score a goal? Seriously though, there is a big difference between 'best' and favourite. For example Sean Flynn was one of my favourite players back in the day but he'd never get into the best XI. It's too subjective a topic to have any definitive answers.

having been about for a while, mine is;
1. Glazier
2. Nillsson
3. Pearce
4. Yorath
5. Curtis
6. Gillespie
7. Strachan
8. I. Gibson
9. Dublin
10.Hudson
11. Hutchison
all of these subjective, and based on the players at the height of their playing performance, though not necessarilly @ ccfc
there are so many others who would rightfully challenge though.
as such,
1. Ogrizovic
2. Borrows
3. MacDonald
4. Mortimer
5. Holton
6. Peake
7. Humphries
8. Carr
9. Regis
10. Wallace
11. Gallagher
what about R. Matthews, Lightening, Coop, Ndlovu, Stein, Keane, Rees, McAllister, Hateley, Hunt (E or S), Sillett, Farmer, Gould, McGrath,
and there are dozens more, great players,

Well this is it. It's all very subjective. You can say 'such and such' is the best striker we've ever had, but if you've never seen Clarrie Bourton play then it doesn't hold much credence. You can only state and list the best all-time 11 based on your own personal observation and the players you have actually seen play.

My dad said that George Hudson was the best player he had ever seen. I alas wasn't around to see him in action. I vaguely recall Ian Gibson though and remember what a great little player he was.

At the end of the day it's all down to how old you are and what you have seen with your own eyes. I have seen all the City keepers from Glazier through to Murphy and Glazier was head and shoulders and way above all of them in my book.

This is a great list, I saw them all except Matthews and Lighting, how about adding Gerry Daly, Roy Barry, Brian Lewis, Ernie Machin.. like you say the list is huge. One thing it does make you realise is how poor a team we have now ;-(

I'll be honest and say that Aguero would have to be in my top 11 Sky Blues.

Pisses me off that the media have started calling them the Sky Blues. That has never been their nickname.

Just because they're obsessed with the Premier League and have forgotten we exist :jerkit:

yeah good further suggestions s/b/u/n,
my dad took me to meet brian lewis, what a great day, & what a determined footballer,
i remember him for CCFC @ the valley 0-0 & we were there whilst he was getting loads of abuse from charltonites, but he drove CCFC on & on
'ken hale' another one, a schemer like 'john white' (spurs)
'graham oakey' a fabulous footballer & a career tragically cut short
'chris -spider- cattlin' a full back that took on george best
'roy barry' gawd i was in the main stand & heard the crack
'david cross' there's a good story about him & his time with ron saunders
'mick quinn' 10 goals in his 1st 6 games

GK - Ogrizovic
RB - Nilsson
LB - Pearce
CB - Peake
CB - Curtis
RW - Bennett
CM - McAllister
CM - Wise
LW - Hutchison
CF - Dublin
CF - Keane

I think that's my fave one posted so far, although maybe with Glazier in for Oggy and Wallace & Ferguson over Dion and Keane simply due to their power as a partnership, nevermind their more sustained success.

Only changes I'd make to the above team, Trevor Peak at CB instead of Williams, think also Gallagher would be in my team ahead of tommo, hard to do really my team would be over the last 25 yrs!! Big C as well so hard to fit every one in!!!

Good to see Froggatt and Wise got in a few sides. One was on his way to being a top player and the other one proved himself at the top. Good to see Mickey Quinn in there as well. No athlete but best finisher I have ever seen. I can't remember seeing him do anything other than putting the ball in the back of the net. I suppose he had the advantage of opposite defenders not being able to push him out of the way of the ball because of his size(shape)

I gave up trying to do a team when I started arguing with myself on who should be in defence. I'd have beat myself up by the time I sorted out the midfield.
