Why are CWR broadcasting on FM & Wasps are on DAB (10 Viewers)

It's the only way I can get a decent CWR signal at home.

One of my mates has hooked his radio (think it's a mini hifi) up to the tv aerial socket and the reception is so much better now. It had a tv aerial plug on the back of the unit and a wire connected to that which just wasn't cutting it. He spotted that a TV aerial cable would fit the connector on the back and tried that and it worked very well. They've got satellite for the TV so don't use the aerial for anything but i guess if you did you could just use a splitter. I does suck a bit that the bbc can't broadcast games on the internet but I guess they don't want to spend the license fee bidding for those rights.

Why do city fans stick up for wasps in any way shape or form , you have no fucking affiliation to them whatsoever

They don't, it's tossers like Tony and the other one who continually embrace them. They are a couple of trolls on a ccfc fan's forum, sad really.

It's not hysteria, simply people who could listen to the commentary on our games previously as they could pick up CWR on DAB now can't as they can't pick up FM. It's not just on here it's on twitter as well, plenty of people complaining.

What are the ratings like for Wasps commentary?

There have been plenty of occasions when the DAB frequency has been devoted to either Nuneaton, Cov, or Blaze, when one of them had a crucial game that coincided with a city game. This is no different really.

CCFC doesn't have a monopoly on CWR sports broadcasts. In fact, in many BBC local radio areas, there are more than one league team within the broadcast area, and getting to hear your own team on that is a privilege, not a right.

I suspect that, if Nuneaton made it into League 2, the BBC would be contractually obliged to give them equal broadcast time. So would everyone be up in arms then?

Just buy the skyblueplayer then for the season and the problem is solved.

Unless of course you have no internet or you want to moan about investing money into the club.

Not that bothered about wasps before the backlash, but there is a big difference, our move to Northampton was just to try and distress ACL and pick up the Ricoh on the cheap. Never was a permiment move. Waps have bought the Ricoh paying market value, and have moved here for good, or bad, depending on people's personal view. They are now a Coventry based team. Just as blaze are when they moved from Birmingham. Only difference is they didn't Impact CCFC in any way except for bringing a successful sports team/ franchise to the city. Another sport does the same and some want people hung draw and quartered, because they got our ground.....

Sorry? I think you will find the market value to have reduced substantially due to sisus action. Without that wasps would not be here. So you don't support the instigator of the action but the scavenger that feasts on a dying carcass.

I would never watch a team that was parachuted from another city. Been offered free hospitality at 3 games but on principal I will never attend.

More people listen to FM than dab so they've done it the right way round in fairness.

Of course. The percentage of population who have FM radio has to be in 90% region I would have thought. Compare that to DAB.

'In the 12 months to the end of June 2013, over a third (33.9%) of all radio listening hours was to digital radio.'

It's a no brainer. Put City on DAB and a lot less City fans will be able to tune in.

And from the fool who was complaining about City being in Northampton and standing on a hill. When Wasps do it, all is fine. Hypocrisy doesn't cover it.

Nice trolling.

Good to see you finally admitting that it's SISU's fault that Wasps are here and we'll never get to own what should be our ground because of their actions.

It's your choice.
I'm not sure though if you (and others) are fighting franchising or misguidedly think that Wasps/Rugby/Followers need to be put down on every occasion in the hope that they fall over and somehow CCFC (not Sisu) get hold of the Ricoh.
I have always enjoyed the quality of the internationals and now I can walk up to similar.
It doesn't clash with my support of CCFC so if I am at home I will attend.

The problem comes when people get up in arms at people attending as if it's their fault for CCFC's predicament.

I am sure they would have been fine if we'd been handing out free tickets to local schools and whoever was interested. Also I imagine it wouldn't have mattered if they'd covered our games on the local radio.

BBC are obliged to cover local sports teams. Like it or not Wasps are a Coventry team.

Want to tell Wasps? all of their "community activities" are focused around what they call "our area- Buckinghamshire, East Berkshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire"

http://www.wasps.co.uk/education/secondary-schools-programme
Secondary Schools Programme

Our Secondary School Coaching Programme offers schools from Buckinghamshire, East Berkshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire a number of developmental coaching sessions, the number of which is subject to the growth and productivity of the partnership between the school and Wasps. Coaching is lead by our Community Coaching Team. Schools will also be offered the opportunity to:

Enter Emerging Schools Festivals if eligible
Gain professional development through planned Coach Education Sessions for teachers
Get further involved through our Community Team Match Day initiatives.

I was just telling you about the BBC mate. I don't know what Wasps are obliged to do.

You said Wasps were a local side. their own web site begs to differ

. Our Community was has been defined as being from our Training Ground in Acton, West London to Chipping Norton RFC (westwards) and Brighton RFC (southwards).

"At Wasps we recognise the importance of our Community Programmes and the responsibility that we have as professional players and staff to be positive role models and ambassadors for our sport and our club. We are delighted that our projects reach so many young people and adults from all backgrounds in our community. It is important that we continue to generate new interest in rugby participation and sustainable support for Wasps." - Dai Young, Director of Rugby, Wasps

To the twat from Warwick.

I have made it clear what I think of Wasps moving to the Ricoh, demonstrating against it outside the Council House etc etc. I will not watch Wasps I go to BPA when City are away however just point out where I was wrong in what I said. Wasps are the biggest sporting club in the area and why is that? Is it Wasps fault we are playing shit football?,is it their fault we can only get 7000 to home games? Now lets look at the Northampton thing shall we,that was the coffin lid being put on the coffin and you endorsed that, hiding behind your usual excuses of course, now the nails are starting to be hammered in and not a hint of criticism of the real cause of all our problems and you have the audacity to call me a fool you fucking prick.

It was the fucking Birmingham Bears thing that got to me one night.

Birmingham Bears is wrong on so many levels, and just a symptom of what's wrong with sport nowadays.

All about money, and nothing about heritage or community.

By which point wasps will firmly be bedded into the local community - so what happens then?

Oooh...you and your tag team partner are so alike. You come on winding it up but you complain when someone bites.

I regretted using "fool" if it's any consolation. I was going to use "twat" too, so 1-0 to you.

Right I'm replying to you just this once,I dont come on here much now why well let me tell you I have answered most things that have been put to me but the same can't be said about others. We had one chance to try to stop the Wasps bid and what happened? Nothing! So I ask you once again where was I wrong and whose fault is it that we are shite and only getting crowds of 7000. I dont want to argue with people on here but it happens because we are not face to face but on an anonymous internet site. But then again I wont say come and have a chat at the next game due to the fact that it might be percieved as a threat.

What happened was that some of the Trust Board were getting excited about watching "top class rugby" and came on here to justify it and tell everybody how great it was.

Credit to you and LAST though who put your heads above and went and protested. Can't fault for that and not trying to.

I know who's to blame; SISU and CCC.

However what winds me up is shit from Italia and the rest bigging Wasps up all the time. And you will no doubt disagree but your comment was meant to provoke and it worked. They might be the biggest but they certainly aren't local.

And you know what i'll apologise for reacting but as i said that was why it was posted.

I think some of the stuff they've posted on here and twitter is prett astonishing considering they are supposedly a fans organisation. I've noticed Jan has been very quiet since.

I was never sure of them/him before but the open arms attitude towards Wasps was pretty poor.

What happened was that some of the Trust Board were getting excited about watching "top class rugby" and came on here to justify it and tell everybody how great it was.
