Why are CWR broadcasting on FM & Wasps are on DAB (9 Viewers)

Because according to their CEO the majority don't attend games that used to.

Remember our "protest" was a few people on a hill with tenfold at least inside. The rest were silent stayaways. Still you go now don't you - so join Italia in franchise heaven.

All I'm saying is the most important stakeholder in any sports club is its fans.

As I've said IF a majority of fans supported the move then who are we to tell them their wrong?

If the owners say we need to move or go out of business (and it is proven) I would say most fans would favour the move.
I would say that no fans believed we really needed to go to Northampton because of the high rent and access to revenues.

8% of their first game was 2500, around half of what they were getting in Wycombe.

I remember thousands on the city centre march.

No I went once.

Around half, more than half or less than half?

Can you also provide transcripts of all those who attended that they all supported the move or is thus the language of made up bollocks being spoken?

I don't care. It's on my doorstep, it's first rate entertainment and like previous regimes I don't care who owns the stadium.
Tomorrow night the stadium is Coventry City's. When I sit in the Casino and talk to opposing fans I accept the credit on behalf of CCFC of the fantastic facilities.

Can't provide that sorry, its just an opinion.

Can you provide evidence that a majority of Wasps fans were against it to prove your not talking bollocks?

It's known that the company has negative value of £14.25 million.

It's known wasps holdings is owned by Camango which has one share issued to Derek Richardson

It's known Camango has a parent company called moonstone limited which seems to have a company number not recognised by companies house. Therefore it's likely to be a Florida based investment portfolio company which has subsidiaries in Malta and Jersey.

Given that you constantly bleat haft CCFC will never own the Ricoh why are you happy wasps don't own it but comango (or is it moonstone) do? Who are moonstone and what is their interest? Why has the holding company got such a negative worth?

Is ACL part of this group of companies, or is ACL held separately but maybe with the same ultimate owner? I don't know the answer, but I can't find anything official that suggets all the companies are in the same group.

98% of shares in wasps are owned by holdings. All of holdings is owned by comango and their parent company is moonstone.

So if we need to move or go out of business, then you would back CCFC being moved 80 miles?

I keep saying to myself I'll keep quiet about this, but I hate with a vengance the rubbish that some people use to excuse the move.

Wasps are a franchise who came here purely for financial reasons - not because of some love of the city. Just because they moved out to Wycombe after spending their entire history in West London does not make them 'nomadic' - that's an embarrassing pretence. Even their owner acknowledged they were a London club when interviewed.

As for the "majority" of their fans following them here, whilst there's not much evidence either way on that, when I posted on their forum to ask how many were going to come to Coventry the vast majority (I'd say around 80%) said that they either wouldn't or couldn't come. Have they really brought all their fans with them, or simply bought fans now they're here?

You're welcome to watch Wasps if you want to, it's a free country and I absolutely respect that. However don't pretend it's something it isn't; accept it's a franchise that you're supporting and deal with it rather than making excuses - I'd respect that more too.

As for the DAB thing, what pisses me off about that is that I can't recall CWR ever doing the same for Coventry's own rugby side, it would have been great to have coverage from the Richmond game for example. In that at least, the BBC have shown themselves to be less than impartial - as others have said the better thing to do would be to treat both sides similarly, and/or relegate Wasps' games to internet feeds.

And finally with regard to Wasps being the biggest team in the City, that's clearly rubbish too. Would anyone here seriously propose that if you walked out into the street and asked people who their favourite team was you would get more people saying Wasps than CCFC?

It would never happen, as there are always alternatives.

Okay, so the alternatives are we need to get rid of players, cut costs and drop down two divisions ?

.... or move and stay in the top flight ?

This season is a direct result of going to Northampton so you should be happy !!

Excellent, although I was talking about ACL, as that's where the impact of all the Wasps debt is suggested to hit isn't it?

So... Glasgow Rangers are in severe crisis. Having gone pop once, there's a very real chance they could go again, and this time properly.

If they did, there's a nice large stadium without a tenant. It's larger than the Ricoh too. Just think of all that income generation!

CCFC would have NO CHOICE but to move there. It'd be for the team's sake.

No, we don't need to move. We will just stay at the Ricoh paying rent without significant access to revenues, hopefully Wasps will jack up the rent as well. Why? because it worked so well for Wasps at Adams Park...

Which ironically is what you are doing hidden behind your keyboard. You really are dumb arent you.

OK now I'm confused. Have I threatened you or something? What am I supposed to be hiding from?

If you don't have any evidence, and your view is just an opinion, then come out and admit it like I just have.

No one will think of you as any less of a man for not having any evidence to support your argument.

As proven by "intheknow" who makes a point of saying there is no real way to make money without owning a stadium on here...

Not confused, dumb.

You said I had showed my class by being insulting, which is ironic as in that statement you are insulting me, thus showing your class.

Not sure what alternative tangent you are on re threats, but you, like I, are hidden by anonymity behind a keyboard. Is that easy enough for you to understand. Happy to meet face to face for you to explain my class level if you so wish.

Most of them would probably say Manchester United tbh, the people who come out with Wasps are the top club after they've been here 5 minutes are clearly just looking to antagonise and get a reaction.

I think someone said with regards to CRFC its hard as not all stadiums at that level often have the necessary tech to do a live radio broadcast, I'd prefer they didn't do live coverage on Wasps games, either have it on internet or just updates.

If they are determined to broadcast it (which they will continue to do so if they get enough listeners) then they will always upset someone no matter which way they decide to do it.

Most of the ones who defend the move based on Wasps needed there own revenues/stadium then contradict themselves by saying the complete opposite with regards to CCFC and then don't understand why people question their opinions.

My hazy memory recalls when Cov had a play-off against London Irish(?) to get into the top flight, they got live coverage, so I suppose in that sense CWR are being consistent in only bothering with games at a high level.

To me, public service isn't necessarily commercial though. I'm assuming (although I don't actually know) that Radio Northampton didn't broadcast CCFC games, and I'm guessing various London stations no longer bother with Wasps?

Most Coventry citizens that I've met welcome Wasps, I've met far more local kids who support them than CCFC as well.

Wasps are a novelty at the moment, to claim these people are actually supporters of Wasps is silly after a couple of games. If after 5 years people are saying they support Wasps then it may actually mean something.

It's like claiming the 30k who watched Korea vs Switzerland at the Olympics at the Ricoh are massive South Korea or Switzerland fans.

I'd support the phoenix team which would start at the bottom, become CCFC and play at the Ricoh.
Rangers got liquidated a few seasons ago so the name just goes on and evidently their history.

Thanks. I suggest Sisu take CCFC to Glasgow call them Glasgow City and allow us to start again.

Not me. I'm saying we have missed out on that and now we need to go cap in hand (Not sword in hand as currently) to Wasps and get the best we can.
Don't get mixed up that our support for Wasps means we don't believe we need the other incomes.
However unfortunately a new stadium 'may' give us those incomes and 'may' have cheap rent but we will still not own it or the developed land around it.

Unfortunately Linfield will be moving to the Ricoh in their place.
