Simply The Worst (2 Viewers)

Its fair to say the current squad has been disappointing, but for this weeks Cooks Question, i want to know who you think is the worst player ever to wear the sky blue shirt. Im quite intrigued to here the answers from some of the older supporters on this, as im sure they've seen some bloody awful players in their time. Also this week is our Valentines Day Special, so if you have a message for your sweetheart you want me to read out, leave it here and i'll shout it out on Thursday's show. There will also be a romantic soundtrack to boot. Sports Lounge kicks off at 10AM every Thursday on 98.6 Hillz FM, so tune in if you can. Thanks again for your brilliant support. PLAY UP SKY BLUES!

A few to be fair, Kyle, Webster, Delorge would be frustrating but not the worst, Keith O Neill for never playing.

Mild-Mannered Janitor

Kindest Bloke on CCFC / Maker of CCFC Dreams
Kyle
Drinkell
Malaga
Martinez and the other honduran
Robert Jarni - never really put in a shift
Onandi Lowe
Slager
Lightbourne

Whilst some of the older players were poor, they always seemed to suit the level we played at, or collectively, they worked better as a team than some of the recent garbage, maybe old blinkered eyes but team used to be bigger than individual and thats what kept us up for years and years despite having some donkey players. Some performances from Flynn, Darby, McGrath etc were woeful they couldnt pass for toffee but they had a job and stuck to it and didnt worry about what they couldnt do.
Now, we are looking for too much from a player, wanting them to have all attributes, take Thomas, rubbish passing but I think he is a better holding player than Finch or Fleck but the idiot manager wants to have players that hold, tackle and then pass.

Why not a best of and cheer us all up rather than haunting us with these nightmares

To be fair to Keith O'Neill didnt they discover a few years later that he suffered from a degenerative back condition, and it was that which ended his career and why he was injured.

Quote from Wiki (I have read it elsewhere as well) "While at Coventry, he was diagnosed with two degenerative bone conditions in his spine, spondylolisthesis and spondylosis, which was essentially a double fracture of part of the cord that threatened to leave him disabled. These conditions eventually forced his retirement"

John Gayle, Morten Hyldegaard, Keith O'Neill, Dion (just joshing don't worry - merely trying to think of positives - we haven't always been shite al the time)

Happy to remove O'Neill in view of Moff's post.

Will replace him with Evtoshuk - actualy felt sorry for him - so far out of his depth

Bloody hell I forgot Evtoshuk. Another financial debacle from Richardson. We paid 750k for him for half a season and he left for free at the end as we couldnt get the work permits etc, so we couldnt even command a fee for him.

Wasn't the greatest bit of business was it - for the club anyway ( also Hondurans, Peruvians, Belgians, Norwegians etc....)

Despite some recent disasters (Kyle etc) it's hard for me to look beyond some of the players we saw in the first few post-prem seasons:

Horatio Carbonari
Paul Trollope
Fabien Debec
Steve Walsh
Dean Gordon

all of the afore mentioned are shit in there own way, but without doubt the worst city player has to be paul Edwards, he should have been wearing callipers he was so shit. I honestly think if you had blind folded someone and gave them a game they wouldn't have been worse than him.

HouchensHead and Wingy should remember the one and only JULIAN DERBY - I very rarely knock CCFC players but this guy was something else - uselessness personified !!

Thought Cook was ok to be honest - couldn't run but was able to pass to one of his own players on occasions. Was a pretty poor side he was in I think.

I quite liked him tbh. Decent passing range. We did really well to stay up for so long considering some of the players we had. That said, we always had one or two match winners which made the difference.

I think to have a crap player's 11 must have played at least 20 games for Cov but also must have been crap at the division we were in at the time, saw Tom English he would have been quite prolific in this league.

GK - Scott Shearer - there's a joke about scottish goalies, he was living evidence
RB - Steve Wright, clueless
LB - Greg Downes, could tackle too slow
CB - Andy Webster, very poor and very clumbsy
CB - Dave Buust, sad about his leg but PL standard he was not
CM - Wayne Turner, was playing non league with a few years of joining us
CM - Julian Darby, although he scored a feww goals very lightweight
RM - David Bell, was recently at Kings Lyn which is still probably too high a standard
LM Michael McIndoe, he was concentrating on other things
Striker Dean Holdsworth, just never scored any goals
Striker Kevin Kyle, for those that saw him play we all wondered just how he had become a professional
