Duggie was a centre half not a leftg back - and a real "old fashioned centre half". He'd last about two minutes these days before the red card would be brandished.
A few weeks back someone posted a link on here to an interview with him. He was reminiscing about a "reducer" (very hard tackle designed to intimidate the opponent - for our younger readers) he put in on Stan Bowles. Bowles went off for treatment and when he returned some minutes later went to Duggie and said "f**king hell Duggie, what did you do? It was like being hit by a Sherman tank".
Julian Darby scored 5 goals for us. FIVE.
He was incedibly bad. I think his knees were shot and he went into semi-pro footy not long after his spell with us?

I know Bellamy was a complete tosser but i thought he played well while he was here?
Bloody hell I forgot Evtoshuk. Another financial debacle from Richardson. We paid 750k for him for half a season and he left for free at the end as we couldnt get the work permits etc, so we couldnt even command a fee for him.
Sandy Robertson. Having pulled out of a deal to sign Chris Marsden due to concerns about his fitness, Phil Neal plumped for he. He was to be our midfield maestro, pulling the strings and providing the flair and creativity we had been dismally lacking up to that point of the season (93-94). I remember when he signed, the local news report kept showing a clip of him scoring a spectacular overhead kick for Rangers, something that convinced me Neal had done the right thing in overlooking Marsden and signing Robertson instead......
We were 2-3 nil down to Newcastle away with Robertson on the bench. Cov fans were all calling for Robertson to be given a chance (The game was broadcast live at Highfield Rd on big screens). He duly came on and within minutes-indeed it may have been his first possession of the ball-he played a stray pass to a Newcastle midfielder, who put Ruel Fox in to slot home and put the game well and truly beyond reach.
Can't remember seeing him play for Cov again....
Can I throw in an Ashley Grimes?
2 that effectively decided the 1994 title!

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Seb Olzar!
