"outstanding", "tremendous" etc comments regarding the performance tonight. The trouble is how far can he go with such hilarious comments until absolutely no one has an ounce of respect left for Pressley. What I witnessed out there tonight was Pressley's fault, not the fault of SISU. I never thought I'd say that.

Robbins' post match comments sum up what a quality manager Robbins is and Pressley's comments are those of a desperate, deluded man on borrowed time.

Totally true and spot on, he hasn't got a clue how to set up a team formation, why not start with a left back in that position to start with? Absolutely clueless.

The telling statement for me was said by Robins. He said we have a good group of players, so what the he'll is Elvis doing with them all week. Even Linell, who is regularly screamed at for his neutrality said he couldn't see the positives. Time for some one to help as a proper assistant if their not getting rid of Pressley, he needs help or were gonners.

There's been a few opposition managers who have said similar, as well as many of the ex-pros on CWR. It's just a polite way of saying SP doesn't know what he's doing and can't get anywhere near the best out of the team. You only have to look at what happens to players when they move elsewhere to see that.

If any of the owners were watching that game and then listened to SP interview he would have been sacked, it is truly a huge disconnect, forget supporting your players in public, he can still do that and say that we need to be better.

I am staggered he has now used the word 'excellent' for the last two games. SP the deinition of excellent in the dictionary is 'extremely good; outstanding' time to reconsider your choice of words.... oh and choice of job before it is too late

Sky Blues boss feels that City should have won the game but credits his young side for getting a late leveller against Scunthorpe…
Coventry City manager Steven Pressley said he was proud of his side after they got a late leveller to earn a 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe United at the Ricoh Arena.

Marcus Tudgay's lob in added time cancelled out a Gary McSheffrey first-half free-kick to give City a share of the spoils.

Pressley was pleased with the squad's work rate and the way that the side kept going until the final whistle.

"I was proud of the players tonight," he said.

"We kept going right until the end. We dominated large spells of the game and that takes tremendous courage for such a young side.

"We were patient and kept moving the ball. There was four of five big chances we had, Dominic had a couple of one-on-ones and George Thomas had a shot at the end.

"There was frustration spilling from the stands and it is understandable but our energy was fantastic tonight."

The result sees City go four points clear of the relegation zone.

However, Pressley is confident that his side can stay clear of danger and propel themselves up the SkyBet League One table for the rest of the season.

He continued: "If we maintain the levels I have seen from the last three games, then I have no fears about us pulling away from trouble.

"I understand the fans' frustrations and I have absolutely no problem with the supporters. But if they can say that to a man we didn't apply ourselves to the maximum tonight then I would not agree with them.

"We handled the occasion really well and I thought that maybe we should have won the game."

Maybe all the "hands are tied" crap will stop now and people will realise how awful he is.

I think there's a difference between having a good group of (individual) players and having a good squad/team. If robins was here, we certainly wouldn't have a central midfield of barton and fleck, with a number 10 playing left wing.

I also think that robins (or any other manager) isn't likely going to say we have a poor squad. They were often complimentary when we were sat at the bottom of the championship.

Dave phillips, who has seen us a lot, kept saying some players aren't good enough, that we lack quality, etc.

Surely he didnt say that? There was more of an occasion at my neices christening than at the Ricoh last night!

What exactly was the occasion supposed to be? MR turning up at the Ricoh and showing up SP?

Pressley is a moron and will take this club down if he remains in charge. Anyone can come out with the pretencious crap he does, but if you can't put it into practise then you just look a fool.

Wrong. He wouldn't of gone if we had lost last night. That's the sad bit

I think he should get the job for life as he must be a saint to take all the shit for our owners as they lay low in there furry palaces,
or maybe we could take Lambert in a swap exchange with the Villa;)

Let's be clear; I'm not defending his managerial capability. One iota. But his hands are tied. The club have to accept their share of the responsibility:

Again - and to be totally clear - I am not defending him; but if that's not his hands being tied, I don't know what is

Interesting comments from Dave Phillips after the game on CWR. When Linnell asked why is SP defending the dross each week with glowing praise, DP actually agreed with his philosophy. Seems players can be deflated by hearing that they're playing badly week after week so to hear their boss bringing out the positives of their displays is a boost to their confidence, as fragile as it is.

It was enlightening to hear from someone who has been through similar but mark me down as still not convinced.

Idiots on here were delighted when Robins departed, said he could fuck off he'd lost it anyway ?! Oh how we laughed !

They might actually believe they are doing well though and not think that they need to improve.

I watched SP last night and in the last 20 minutes Pendleton(Everton Loanee) who was playing very well at centre back decided to drive forward with the ball from the back which in turn pushed our midfield up closer to the forward line, SP was going effin ape shit telling him to get back into his own half! I tell you SP only knows how ro setup a team not to lose everything that was wrong on the pitch is down to the manager!

The majority of managers have constraints of various degrees, but if anyone tells you Pressley is doing as good a job as he possibly can under the circumstances, the law should entitle you to confiscate their driving licence and passport for the good of society.

Summed it up when Robins gave his interview after the game - Coventry have a good set of players at the club and should be doing better.

We should be doing better, but I haven't seen anything to suggest we have a good bunch of players? Just go through them and name these huge underachievers ? Fleck and Tudgay perhaps ?
