Thought he was MOM, in the fact, he always battles and never gives up.

Thought he would of got sent of for that tackle though. Trying to or...?

He is a headless chicken and we created far more when he left the field tonight, completely over rated by far too many, look back at his crosses aimlessly floating no where, ask yourself seriously what he did that was positive and creative in tonight's game and please let me know.

Might be an unpopular view but the bloke infuriates me. Michael Doyle mark II but probably not as talented. Running is not a skill. His distribution is woeful. His one redeeming feature is the fact he occasionally has a shot.

in the turgid midfield, o'brien was the only one playing on the front foot - yes, he's a bit of a headless chicken, but at least he ties to get the team on the front foot. was probably MOTM match but lucky to get a 6.5, thats how poor everyone else was

I'd rather see a "headless chicken" putting 100% in than some of the players put in. Maybe MOM was a bit strong as I think Phillips did well and Samuel did okay without doing much. Just pointed out JOB always puts the effort in.

I'm not in anyway saying tonight wasn't a poor performance all round.

I think if he hadn't subbed him he would have been sent off, he is a liability.

he spends far to much time bitching at others and not enough focused on his own game as summed up in the first half when phillips had the ball in our own half obrien was 10 yards ahead of him in a bit of space looking the wrong way bitching at samuel about something that had happened 3 miniutes before. phillips then ended up having to just get rid of it. i for one wasnt sad to see him go off was however happy that it finally got the fans to show their anger towards pressley.

phillips was easily the best player we had out there today with a little bit of match sharpness he could have had a hatrick.

I put this on another thread, but his "work rate" means he is NEVER in his actual position which in turn causes the whole team to lose its shape.

Equally he is the only midfielder we have who makes attacking runs, so give him a go in the middle with
Fleck or Barton, who will sit deep, and let him be the one making the attacking runs and attempting to get into the box.

He is overrated, but it's kind of acceptable due to his commitment, it is up to SP to either ensure he is disciplined enough to stick to one role, adapt the tactics to allow for his positional ineptitude or drop him until he learns to play in one position.

tbf I doubt even he could tell you what position/role he is actually supposed to be playing, most of the time he's played as part of a 3 man midfield but he hasn't really played out wide or in the centre. The best I can come up with to describe his role is a midfielder.

He's definitely one that we're not getting the best out of. Early season he looked half decent. However more recently he's gone off the boil!

Didn't think there'd be many players who could out do Baker in the 'I'm going to wave my arms at every decision we don't get or get given against us and soon I may take off' act, but he comes close! Imagine if we had them both in the same team!

Think if any of the players are going to get frustrated soon, it'll be him

I remember early in the season, he was making brilliant runs and would never get the ball as he was surrounded by players who can't play a decent through ball. Followed by the look of pure anger/ aggression.

I think now he realises he won't receive the ball, and goes hunting for it, so not sure what people expect? Sit in his position and hope our players stop playing backwards and give him the ball or...?

He tried but i thought he was crap, I honestly haven't seen him have a good game for us at home this season, 15 minutes here or there but generally been awful.

I thought when he attempted to clear to touch and hit Sheffs arm which was left stinging for a couple of minutes he was actually trying to maim the baying frustrated support

There is no point in giving 100% if that involves being out of position or passing to the opposition or diving all the time! he has some capability but cost us for the first Rochdale goal by being out of position and it is a team game, it is about keeping shape, making the opposition work for the ball and not leaving your own players isolated when out of position.
he thinks he is somebody who can spray raking passes 30 yards to players and he simply cannot.

too many fans are deluded and blinded by what looks like commitment but he constantly berates other players and does not track back or stick to his position and I stand by my comments that we created more without him in the last 15 minutes than we had in the previous 75 for 90 at Preston.

That's exactly how I see him ... He gets fed up waiting for balls so has to go looking himself ..which he is not good enough for..so it ends up affecting his whole game

He's just not good enough, and he's been like that since he got the arm band! Not a leader, especially a leader who needs to galvanise his team! The most frustrating player we have brought in years, and he was ment to replace Baker?!?!?!?!

Surely he is a success then if he is the most frustrating player we have signed for years and was supposed to replace Baker.....

He's ok. He's very far from being the problem

Willis at lb
Midfield 2 playing on the edge of our box
The gap between our midfield and strikers
The speed of our passing
The choice of our passing
