I can't understand how keyboard warriors can aim such bile at a team they purport to (11 Viewers)

The overwhelming majority of criticism isn't empty hate-filled bile, it's valid and borderline indisputable. We're 20th in League One, people aren't screaming for nothing.

"illiterate"? Well yes, naturally there are some under-educated fans who comment but there are also plenty who can expresses themselves perfectly in English. However Alan has the benefit of proof readers and I still occasionally cringe with the spelling and grammatical errors. Dunning Kruger strikes again.

you are not a cov fan,you would not understand.

I am not dumb enough to play that game.....

My comment to you, is you make some valid footballing points that rightly challenge Me Poole's incorrect opinion.

However you start your post with 'you fucking twat ' this gives him justification for his keyboard warrior, trolling and bile comment. It makes everything you write afterwards a bit meaningless unfortunately

Welcome to the internet.

There are keyboard warriors on both sides, those that defend Pressley and those who criticise. Alan Poole making out that only those who criticise are keyboard warriors is very silly.

People posting bile such as 'you c**t' and 'you fucking twat' in the defence of SP.

I haven't seen it personally

I think his players are not good enough for this level or is he not getting across to them his preferred tactics, last season he had a team built by Mark Robins, it was probably one of the best in this league last seaon. Granted most of the best players have been sold or left but the replacements have been chosen by him which questions his judgment and man management skills. Is Holloway a replacement or bought here for as a coach. Leeds fans rate him as a coach.

Fans pay money, they are entitled to there opinion as are provincial journalists

so if it was one of the best in the league, why weren't we up there? (or would have been plus 10 points)

Holloway is at Millwall, wouldn't mind him here.

Trolls want a reaction. Post that Pressley is useless and the team wank and it will probably get a virtual nod of agreement.
Post that a new stadium is being announced in the new year and 50 pages follow.

No that's the bile bit

Calling them a twat or c**t is the keyboard warrior bit and I suppose a bit of bile

Saying someone isn't a Cov fan is the troll bit.

thats a fact. you love manager who got us relegated and happy council didnt sell us ground and deducted us points. you are no fan.

I think the weakening of the squad that season was the main reason for our relegation.
Not happy that we did not buy ACL (not the ground) due to our negotiating style. Also can understand why the council sold ACL to wasps even though I am not happy about it, I see where the main blame for that decision lies.
Not happy that we were deducted points.

So if someone has differing views to you they are not a Cov fan. I thought you were trolling to be fair just seems it maybe something else.

This "patience is a virtue" approach is a nonsense. The results and league position show that it isn't working.
What is a good manager - one that sticks to his principles regardless or one that can adapt when things are obviously wrong.

It's coming to something when the old 'people will post anything anonymously on the Internet' line is being used as a smokescreen for a shockingly shit manager.
Twenty years ago the same conversations regarding the manager would be had in boozers, those opinions would've been dismissed as bloke down the pub comments by those that didn't agree.
One mans troll is another mans truth speaker.

Poole's completely wrong that people should not come on the Internet calling for SP's head that's people right.
However if he is using the terms bile and keyboard warriors because people are calling him a C.u.n.t. Then that's fair enough.
People who turn to that type of abuse generally are not brightest as Poole himself is now finding out.
Presseley seems like a decent bloke and dies not deserve personal abuse.

@ SkyBlueScottie........Tactical awareness is seeing a situation and reacting in a positive way. If your main tactic goes wrong, you must be able to change to counteract it. As for a player loosing the man he is supposed to be marking and that player scores against us(A la Webster) who was responsible for 3 of 6 goals scored against us in 2 games. Tactical awareness tells me to swap things around in order to try nullify what has happened. If players are not good enough, remind yourself who it is that brought them to the Club? Swindon is a perfect example of bringing in players that can actually play the game, and Robins is the perfect tactician in this league.

That's a good post. Elvis needs to have a better understanding of why we're not winning games and develop plans to counter the game plan the opposition are bringing to the pitch. Then he just has to get the team to follow this - which might be easier said than done.

Joy has no limits when we look to the sky.

I think Its been alluded to by StupoT a few times
We have a deep sitting six or more man defence
You could not squeeze a Fag paper between defence and midfield on Tuesday night
We're bigging up making five chances over 95 minutes
It's a nullifying game management technique
Dull boring and underemploys a third of the side
Finally it's slow and nullifies movement where the receiver Is generally static and easily closed down

Would have been ok if he said Pressley is a poor manager/performing poor but the abuse aimed at him is unfair like you have done yourself but Poole has basically said anyone who criticises Pressley is an internet warrior.

Poole clearly thinks Pressley is a brilliant manager and anyone who disagrees is a keyboard warrior.

Quite right, too! Good gaffers in any profession will upbraid under-performing staff in private but defend them to the hilt in public – that’s what proper management is all about.

And he’s bang on there, too. Just as against Rochdale and Preston, City’s workrate was impeccable and – a particular source of pride for Pressley – they stuck to their principles rather than taking a Plan B leaf out of Louis van Gaal’s book and lumping it forward in desperation.

Some fans understandably don’t share his opinion that patience is a virtue and the rumblings of discontent grew louder as City’s attempts to probe for gaps saw the ball moving sideways or even backwards on occasions.

But the fact is that those tactics created five clear-cut openings in the prime position between the penalty-area and six-yard lines – two squandered and two saved before Marcus Tudgay produced the deftest of finishes in injury time – whereas Scunthorpe’s best opportunities involved Paddy Madden taking snap shotsfrom distance.

In a nutshell, City played the better-balanced, more constructive football, Pressley’s philosophy perfectly summed up five minutes before the break when Luke Daniels pulled off a fine reflex save to deny Dominic Samuel after an intricate build-up that at times seemed to be going nowhere.

Well, you’re 1-0 down with 15 minutes to play so you take off a midfielder and throw on a fourth striker – a positive move, surely? And while O’Brien has certainly been City’s most consistent and effective performer this season, Adam Barton and John Fleck both played better on Tuesday so he was the obvious choice for the hook.

All defences of the manager and all flawed arguments. Imo Pressley has gotten off lightly so far in terms of criticims, he's been dire for 12 months and only now are the fans beginning to question him, at most clubs would have already been sacked months ago.
