Not linking it as that will help them generate money from advertising. I normally wouldn't be bothered, but fuck them after their shenanigans of the last week.

I'm aware I've done the same as them

There's also this from TheSackRace...

Former Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has revealed that he is interested in succeeding the sacked Steven Pressley at Coventry City. The Sky Blues sent Pressley packing on Monday morning following a poor run of form - no wins in seven - which had seen the League One strugglers slip into the relegation zone (21st). The Midlands club have already been linked with a number of gaffers, although it's the 5/4 priced (Sky Bet) Mowbray who currently sits at the summit of the market
The former Celtic, West Brom, Hibernian and Boro boss has been out of work since leaving the Riverside back in October 2013 following an underwhelming three years in charge. The 51-year-old's fondest memories come from his time at the Baggies, with whom he led to the Championship title in 2007/08, while he also enjoyed a run to the FA Cup semi-finals with the club.
Mowbray, who was recently linked with Scunthorpe, likes to employ an attack minded, high-tempo style of football, which would no doubt go down well at the Ricoh. However, it's important to remember that the former defender is by no means the only candidate for the vacancy, with the likes of caretaker manager Dave Hockaday, James Beattie, Uwe Rosler, and Darren Ferguson - who left Peterborough last weekend - also in the running.

I'm still annoyed with them for their total indifference to our plight in northants & then their subsequent wanking over the wasps.....

Don't buy the Sun....and don't buy the CT!!

just read the article count him out :)

Mowbray remains fiercely ambitious to manage at a higher level and would clearly be tempted if he felt the owners matched his aspirations.

Their reporting of Pressleys sacking and form has been pretty poor too.

Yep, the Wasps coverage is nauseating.

Was very noticeable in the "Are you in the crowd" photos from the last game that they were all very close up so as not to show the huge gaps in the crowd that gave the lie to the attendance figure given.

Laughable really.

To be fair, it's not just been dreamt up. Trust in Andy Turner.

Well yes if we trusted in Andy Turner and his great mate Alan Poole, Pressley would still be manager, we would be relegated at the end of the season, and crowds would be 4,000 or lower.

Turner and Poole come accross as akin to Bert and Ernie in their latest video installment. If you dont know bert and erinie, here they are

Would of been a hard job for David Bailey to get a few snaps of us against Scunny.

Used to read CET EVERY night and the PINK on matchdays was a pleasurable half mile jaunt. Used to take twice as long to get home after reading about sport.
Now the telegraph is like the Ricoh; empty, full of useless advertisements and not value for money.

There's room to report both. Just read what you want.
Same as the Ricoh, there's room for both.
Even the personalisation of the Ricoh can be both. Just does not seem the will by Sisu/CCFC to make the effort .................. yet :)

I won't forget their article to the effect of 'by the way this crowd is much bigger than the Sky Blues got against Fleetwood'. We could also consider that this is a paper which (belatedly) rallied against the club playing outside Coventry and now has no qualms with the rugby franchisees. Oh and the paper isn't made in Coventry.

Going to hold my nose and defend the CT here.

'The Telegraph understands that the 51-year-old ... views City as a great opportunity to stabilise the club and drive it back to where it belongs ... Sources close to Mowbray believe he would, “have to consider it because of the history and stature of the football club,” insisting he would welcome the challenge to re-engage the fans with a winning brand of football"

Reading between the lines, I would assume the source is Mowbray himself (or via his agent), and has issued a come-and-get-me message. If that's the case, then it suggests he is up for the challenge. I imagine financial resources would be problematic though.

Mmm...remember the CT also "understands" that Pressley is off to Hudderfield.

Yep, just stick the word "understands" in your article and it doesn't matter if it's true or not.

Is this the phrase you're referring to: "It is understood that Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle has earmarked Pressley as a prime candidate to take over at the John Smith’s Stadium."

Other things the Telegraph is guilty of:

* The framing of Deirdre Rachid
* The lack of a 'barbecue summer' in 2012
* Leaving the toilet seat up
* Refusing to "get a little bit softer now" whenever they play Shout at a wedding
* Sheffield United's equaliser last week

Disgusting.

* Not saying wayoh after the Outhere Brothers specifically asked after going to the trouble of saying boom boom boom.

There's a sizeable difference between 'It is understood' and 'The Coventry Telegraph understands'. Taking ownership of the rumour.

I mean, who else but Mowbray or his agent could come up with the quotes used. If the CT was making it up, then their reputation could be hammered by Mowbray coming out and saying 'This is rubbish, I have no interest in the job.' The reporter is using a source and has his desk editor's approval.

Not saying that Mowbray will end up taking the job...but there's no good reason to doubt the story.

I'm not doubting the story, I'm saying the headline doesn't match the content of the article.

Well actually I do doubt the story but that's for me to decide. My problem is the above.

They always make the headline not match, getting a bit desperate to get clicks I think.

If he wanted the job then surely he would have applied, which apparently he didn't so why mess around playing hard to get? It isn't some sort of teenage drama show.
