I hope people will now calm down... (5 Viewers)

Everyone should realise by now that even with TM we can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. SP left us a lot of garbage. TM has acted quickly in bringing in one good one (Ward) but is aware we need more.
he will keep us up but that talk of amassing over 20 points in the remaining fixtures and playoffs still a possibility????
Jeez people calm down we are going to be OK but the excitement earlier was palpable in the extreme.
Notts County now looks like a serious 6 pointer now. My confidence in TM is what keeps me calm.

SP did leave us a load of garbage.

This is a poor, poor squad we have. Too often second best in games and opposition teams more often than not look fitter, stronger and better organised.

It will take a while to sort out the dross Otis and that will have to be the summer. For now TM can produce results as the previous two away suggest so we will keep improving around that and today I think he will be pretty disappointed but can now evaluate what he has before him better too.

I agree Pax. Not here to criticise TM the club has a lot of rebuilding to do. Yes Pressley lacked experience and had his flaws and perhaps people will start to realise the task he had on. The last few years our transfer activity has been hamstrung with embargoes etc., we have been left to scrape the barrel. any good players that have come our way are sold for cash at the first opportunity.

There is a long road ahead, it will take even a decent manager 2-3 years to get a competitive squad at Lge 1 let alone the Championship...especially with the funding SISU are capable of.

But therein lies the problem, trying to build a squad and the owners looking to cash in on anyone who might look half decent.

Serious question, are we really devolving TM of all blame for that 2nd half performance ?

Remember what happened the last time we won 2 in a row. The manager got a 4 year deal, we then won 4 league games out of 25 and he got the sack. Let's keep our feet on the ground this time.

You were one of big Pressleys biggest defenders and have been telling us the last two years how we were going to walk into the play offs easily and now we should calm down?

I would say more so than the players. We lack quality and experience. When I say quality, I mean in context to Lge 1. We have had very small windows of opportunity to bring players in in recent years. Sometimes we have had to just recruit bodies, sometimes had people short term, sold quality, the high turnover has effected the continuity...tactics and formation etc.,

that at is why we defend like a Sunday Lge side at times rather than a professional outfit.

I Predicted this game would be a bump game and we will go to the wire even with TM. Yes I do think he is a good manager.

Some missing posters will be back now after the past couple of games.

NIk this post is about the state of the squad not individual results.. This squad will win games, will pick up points but over a season lacks quality in every area and in depth.. This has been from day 1 of the season the bigger issue has been highlighted in this thread, where does this squad go with the same investment next year.. Its a very valid post and a question that does need answering no matter your view on when and who posts an opinion.....

A good manager with sensible off-field management goes a long way in this division as the teams who have been promoted in recent years demonstrate. The standard in this league is awful, truly awful, but as long as we shoot ourselves in the foot it won't change.

It is comical that this board is so much busier when we had a poor result vs when we win.

Last week you couldn't get on to voice an opinion, the site kept freezing

Squad is shocking. He's managed to plug one hole in the middle, but then the creaking defence and dodgy keeper spring up. Let's face it, unless we can find a bunch of free contracts or send back some of the crappier loans we're stuck with it until summer.

Get rid of everyone we can in the summer IMO, no-one has covered themselves in glory, let's see what a Mowbray team looks like.

If he is here beyond the summer? I sincerely hope he is, but I am worried we are just a shop window for him.

Not good enough.

What do we want? A four year contract! When do we want it? NOW!

;)
