The only part of the borough i can see that has the infastructure and availability is the radio station on the A5 by DIRFT just of junction 18 of the M1 which is earmarked for development, they've been talking about "Rugby New Town" for as long as I can remember.
I'd be suprised if they'd get the number there that they got for Suxfields given that it would be a permenant move.
I wouldn't go and start going to Butlin Road instead on basic principle. They could always try rebranding us as Rugby Sky Blue's, MK "Dons" style.

Is infrastructure that much of an issue? Look at some of the other grounds we can't to, they don't seem to have much infrastructure but manage to work around it. In an ideal world it would have a major road, thousands of parking spaces, constant flow of buses and trains but that's unlikely isn't it?

If you look at any completley new ground development in a moved location then yes i think it is. The only exceptions being if the whole area is up for redevelopment where the stadium is centre of that redevelopment like the London Olympics or the Manchester Common Wealth Games or even the propossed new AFC Wimbledon ground.

I am Coventry born and bred but have lived in Rugby since 1991 .
It is totally impractical for the people within the boundary of Coventry to be expected to travel to anywhere within the town of Rugby to watch a relocated football club. Butlin Road (Rugby Town FC) is on the wrong side of town and would take people from Ernsford Grange/ Willenhall/ Whitley 45 minutes to get to via the villages and through Clifton Road, those on the West side of Coventry another 30 minutes on top.
DIRFT as mentioned earlier is in the middle of nowhere, half way between Daventry and Rugby. Well developed logistical site unsuitable and ridiculously out of way for Cov people.
The proposed old BT site near Rugby is again the wrong side of town for Coventry folk. It's huge but is already earmarked for mainly housing. It's at least an hours drive for Coventrians.

Love the way people on this board believe that if Sisu build the new stadium it will actually belong to the club.
Surely this is just one of the facts they need to clarified before fans support a new stadium. Others ...
1/ What is the long term plan for CCFC to take ownership of the stadium ?
2/ What proportion of match day incomes will go to CCFC ?
3/ What proportion of other incomes such as retail park, hotels, exhibition halls, car parking will CCFC get ?
4/ Confirmation of stadium size, expandability and cost.
5/ Financing of the new stadium.
6/ Estimate of expected fan base based on distance and location from Coventry centre.
That's just a start and all the above would need to be justified and compared to actually staying at the Ricoh under any current/long term deal.
Assuming a stadium can't be built in Green belt then close to Rugby would be a big no for me.
My new love of Rugby would enable me to go to Wasps one week and Coventry RFC the next

The old BT site is the only likely that i can see and as you've said it's mainly earmarked for housing and always has been but if the club do a Ricoh style redevelopment there with a big shopping chain (albeit with an inferior stadium) i can see why RBC would be interested in at least hearing them out. I'll be sure to point out to my local councillor SISU history with local authorities when they come round looking for my vote.

Timing might be against SISU on this as currently there is a huge development going on at "Junction 1" in the north of the town and a big row over substantial redevelopment of the town centre "Clock towers" The two developments appear to clash. A third development would possibly, on a large enough scale, be to the detriment of both of these: Rugby simply isn't big enough to need three.

You are absolutely spot on - one of the fastest growing towns/areas in the Midlands, if not England. But if you consider it has a population less than Nuneaton it's not as if there are going to be another 40-50,000 in the next ten years that could become customers of a re-located CCFC . The population growth is high but its relative to a small town proportion.
Any move in the direction of Rugby will , for most Coventry people, be difficult to get to except for those on the eastern fringes.

Who's saying the club would own the stadium? Not even Fisher is saying that. It would be owned by a prop co and that is as it should be. They key would be the relationship between the prop co and the company that is he football club.
We know staying at the Ricoh doesn't work if we want to play above our current level. I don't think anyone is blindly saying build a new stadium and everything will be magically solved, people are saying it is an option and if it is shown to be the best option then that is what we should pursue.

Quite right. I'm against any move out of the City boundary but if it is easily accessible to Coventry people it may be the only option. That's up to Coventry folk to consider. I live in North Rugby near J1 M6 and can get from my house to the car park at Arena Tesco in 20 minutes. That's quicker than some Coventrians take to get to the Ricoh.
A move away from Coventry itself and the club will lose support. Rugby is basically a CCFC catchment area but there will not be sufficient uptake from here should a stadium be plonked on it's doorstep to compensate for the drop off from Cov.
Even if we ignore the fact what you posted wasn't even remotely a fact, even if we ignore the fact the situations aren't even remotely similar, even if we ignore the fact that CCFC building a stadium just outside the city wouldn't in anyway be Franchising and even if you'd had a reasonable point (which you did not) you would still be an idiot for calling someone out who wasn't part of the thread and completely and deliberately misrepresenting their views in order to be a dick and cause trouble.
Personally I'd have no issue with building a new stadium in Rugby's borders (though I understand why some would) it's just pointless discussing it because it's not going to happen and it would make no financial sense whatsoever.

We only have one confirmed contact with a council and it's not N&BBC its RBC and as a Rugby resedent who regularly travels to the Ricoh I can assure you that the Ricoh is closer to Coventry City centre than it is Rugby town centre.

The point I'm making is that Sisu need to show that a stadium owned by Sisu and rented to CCFC would be more advantageous to a stadium owned by Wasps and rented to CCFC.
My limited knowledge tells me that a substantial rent would need to be charged to just cover any interest charges.

Leekes is two minutes walk from the ground. It's outside the boundary though.
It's an upmarket store selling high end furnishings, electrics etc. it appeals to the AB demographic.
