Never played for us (2 Viewers)

I wondered if I could put a side together of players who never played for City. My aim is to pick a side who we'd draw with if we played them now.

GK: Bonetti (Chelsea)
DF: Harriman (Luton)
DF: Moore-Taylor (Exeter)
DF: Woods (Shrewsbury)
DF: Jarni (Hajduk Split)
MF: Purcell (Corsham Park Rangers)
MF: Wenger (Mutzig)
MF: Canales (Real Sociedad)
MF: Garlick (Woodlands Second XI)
FW: Curry (Sheff Utd)
FW: Drinkell (Norwich)

I'd see Curry scoring one and Bonetti conceding a fumble.

Players who have never played for us include Pele, Maradona, Bobby Charlton, Beckenbauer.

Think there's a few others too. At least 12 more I would have thought.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't get this thread at all.

Surely there are hundreds of thousands of players that have never played for us, who if were included in a team, we would be capable of drawing against.

Haggerty F, Haggerty R, Tomkins, Noble, Carrick, Dobson, Dewhurst, Crapper, McIntyre, Treadmore and Davitt.

Drinkell scored everywhere he played and what people forget is he looked total class and set off like a house on fire. It was then like he suddenly lost interest in all things Coventry.

Whether it was club problems or personal, who knows. I remember him as part of aGrimsby side who played us at Highfield Rd in the League Cup, they played good football and he looked total class and we lost. I wanted us to sign him then but he went to Norwich.

Trench, have you been at the Sherry again?

I thought OP wanted players we signed but never played. Aside from Jarni and Carlito I'm not sure. Did Martinez and the other Honduran ever get a game? Reda Johnson and Mansel aren't far off either.

Martinez played 10-11 games in the championship when we got relegated - I seem to remember him scoring the running up a stand (barnsley I think)?! Guerrero definitely played a few times in the PL, I saw him play left wing back at Anfield and we got hammered 4-1 in our relegation season.

I don't understand, when did we sign Arsene Wenger and Sergio Canales then?

This thread seems like a steaming pile of the brown stuff to me.

No that's what I'm saying. Makes no sense to me.

Thought so. Cheers. Who was that striker last season who left us after about a day on loan?

I'd appreciate it if you could also spare some wonders in the direction of a CCFC XI you'd like to watch consisting only of Soap Opera stars. I have to insist on Phil Mitchell in goal though please, for personal reasons I'm not at liberty to disclose

Spider (formerly of Coronation Street) at left back - one of our all time greats in that position!
Reg (Dean) Holdsworth up front
Clive (David) Platt up front (only if we are desperate!)

.....over to a few Eastenders and Emmerdale fans !

The guy who started this thread is classified as a 'CCFC Manager' so it makes perfect sense!

I'm considering making up a team entirely of deities and other mythical creatures. Before I put a unicorn up front, I have a question. If a unicorn were to pierce the ball on his horn and trot into the goal, would it stand?

Yes because we have played with the occasional cart horse up front who occasionally fumbled the ball into the net and it counted (minus the horn element, though they did get quite excited IIRC !!:D

I think rule 18, paragraph 7 covers this, at one time regularly occurring incident more than adequately.
Further amendments covered hoof size and adequate plaiting of the tail etc.

We can have David Icke in goal performing miracles.
