Yeh, you know what, the more I look in to that, the more I see it was a massive oversight.

The lesson....as always....I'm an idiot

I dont get this bit...
...............................
Reda Johnson
– negotiation clause for a further year – RELEASE RELEASE RELEASE. This guy HAS to be costing us a fortune, good player but he is draining our wage budget. To play only 13 games a season is terrible.

Danny Pugh – option of a further year – Sign
...............................................................................
Pugh has only played 5 games for us. He can jog on as well !.

Amended, when writing I never realised just how bad his injury record was. Danny Pugh can now be seen with a simple 'See Reda Johnson'

As Daft as it sounds i would keep Pugh..... Think hes one player who would have helped, but never got over the injury he suffered against Cardiff...... Although disagree about Johnson id keep him! only other player i think TM would and will keep is Tudguy! otherwise pretty spot on.... But first lets get this season over and sorted and make sure the summer is for rebuilding in League 1!

254 league games in 13 years is less than 20 games a season.

Reda is about the same !

We wouldnt be able to rely on either of them

Waste of time having a good influential player if most of the time he is not playing although I do like him he is a liability and every penny spent needs to wisely accounted for

That isn't amazing, i agree with that, but experience wise i think they could be ideal as squad players next season at least! Key is both need to be managed correctly something the previous manager didn't do!

In the end TM will probably get his own players in, something we all hope he does!

Lost me at Re-Sign Danny Pugh!

Depends on the nature of the injury? He has been a pretty steady player throughout his career. It says something that Leeds fans wanted to keep him. If he has been genuinely injured, then he hasn't really had a chance to prove himself. The difference with Johnson is he has a history of it, sometimes you wonder with him if he is only fit when it suits him.

Will boil down to wages on Pugh. Probably a nice professional to have around the squad for sure, but is that a luxury we can afford?

We should look at Kevin Thomson at Dundee, tough tackling holding midfielder, for next season if we are rebuilding the midfield. Was with us at youth level and worked at Middlesbrough with Mowbray.

I have said it many times before we need a player in like Dennis Wise who can help to referee the game, get's stuck in and would be the inspirational leader of this bunch of softies. Don't think I would keep many of the current players look where they have got us.

Every summer half of the players leave and are replaced with ones who are not quite as good in order to save money. This is why the current squad is so poor, especially when compared to those of a few years ago. This is the trend that must be reversed by ditching everyone we can and investing in some decent players. Mowbray is certainly the man to do it, but the big doubt is whether he will be allocated funds to carry out what we need. If not, why would he consider staying?

There is no point in keeping players whose level is lower League One. And absolutely no point in keeping anyone with a dodgy injury record. Johnson has to go, his problems are long-standing and will not get better. When will this club ever learn not to sign injury-prone players in the hope that they will miraculously become ever-present?

Forward, centre midfield, centre defence, goalkeeper.....whichever league we are in will determine how we progress next year. We need a spine to the team and some direction and momentum.

The side needs to be more like a team like Preston big, strong, quick and have a nasty streak.

Looking forward to Mowbray turning Finch and Swanson into world beaters

TM will rebuild and have the opportunity to manage from the start. I will put money on him achieving promotion. I don't care what budget we have. It's 11 players at a poor level. he can make the most of that more than most at this level. If he stays we go up!

Stay up or go down we need a host of new players, of those who I have seen the last few games only Willis, Fleck, Phillips Samuels, Ward and Pennington and three of them are loanees, are in my opinion good enough, the likes of Stokes, Martin, Nouble, Tudguy maybe, Johnson and Pugh just never fit so get rid, I just don't rate ROB, Barton or Connor Thomas and youngsters such as Haynes, Thomas, Finch, Maddison yet to prove themselves also the goalkeeping situation is up in the air, the rest no good. Will TM or any other manager get the financial clout to bring his wish for players in, I doubt it.

It all boils down to 2 things.

1. League 1 or 2. That will massively change the way forward for the club. Go down, and its a whole new manager, backroom staff, squad of a quality and affordability of league 2.

2. SISU - Whether they continue to run the club into a pile of shite, or wind us up and we start again

Never have the last few games of a season been so crucial

With everything seemingly pointing to a make or break game against Crawley last game of the season, the absolute defination of MUST win. Should we stay up, Mowbray has the task of a complete rebuild.

What would everyone do with the current squad. Heres my thoughts

https://playupskyblue.wordpress.com/2015/03/19/what-do-coventry-city-do-next-season/

I doubt whether we will stay up but if we do, I expect all our highest earning players to be disposed of and the top academy prospects to be sold. So the team next year, whether we stay up or not, will be worse than the team this season. Cannot see Mowbray staying whether we stay up or not. Sorry its so grim but that is the way I see it. More of the same. I hope I'm wrong.

The aim for this Season was breakeven ( according to the Board Meeting ). Tm is the most experienced manager in the last few years. He has said what he needs to do the job. To do it probably means budgeting for a loss in the hope of getting promoted. We need fresh investment to take on that Risk. So TF has to put that to the investors. ( I assume ) Best chance of something good on the football side for years. Hope CCFC take the risk.

The playing squad over the last 8 years has got worst in quality, depth and experience, this season come what may, will be no different we will go into next year with a squad not able to compete in the league its in.. Very sad but its true no squad has improved, every time we produce a decent level of player they are gone, we don't build teams we dismantle them..

Sisu are in the shit and are taking the club with them, fans will not renew ST, fans will not run to watch sub standard football so the club need to put money in or watch what they have die, leaving them with nothing but a bad investment.. TM will find it hard to compete, teams coming down, 12 teams already better than us without doubt and teams coming up with something to prove,, means the same in my eyes.. We are a club that will be mid table on a good season and relegation season the rest..
