What do you do when the opposition score against us? (1 Viewer)

I tend to keep quiet when the opposition score, maybe mouth a few choice words.

Find that I'm much more animated when we miss a chance or misplace a bad pass, I've put the chair in front of me through it's paces this season.

.....huff and puff, grin ironically, think 'typical', and hope we'll get a late winner/equalizer so I'll have pleasant journey back to London, looking forward to the next game...which I am tomorrow. Same here Torchy. As much as I hate seeing goals against us, I really appreciate seeing good football. If that means a great goal coming from a clever piece of play, then I will applaud it. The same goes for an outstanding save by an opposition keeper.

Depends under Pressley, I was almost chuckling at how bad we were.

If we're 1/2 -0 up and concede a goal I'll sort of role my eyes in a here we go again way.

If its an important goal I get pretty mad, I hit one of the seats next to me when Leyton Orient scored cause I was pretty mad.

Have to say, when SP was in charge I was always expecting it, so wasn't even saddened or the least bit surprised.

Same, that Scunthorpe game at home was one of the lowest points for me. Barely celebrated the equaliser from Tudgay as we were so bad. Then it was all ways made worse by Pressley telling us we were brilliant.

Back in the Championship days when we had a half a decent team under Adams, and at times under Coleman, when we had decent gates against the bigger teams like Derby, Wolves, Birmingham, Leicester ect I was literally devastated if we conceded and equally delirious if we scored. The last time I can truly remember losing all check of my emotions at a game was when Westwood saved the last minute penalty against Wolves, wild celebrations followed by a massive group hug similar to what you'd expect if it was one of us that had scored a goal. Nowadays with 8000 people in that ground, watching Colchester, Crewe or Chesterfield with us playing absolutely shit I don't even react to conceding. It's just what happens now.

I went nuts when Gary Mabbut scored.

Drives me mad whenever it happens and I usually want to kick said scoring player in the bollocks. I imagine it will be the same when I'm 60.

Depends on the goal and how it's celebration.

As most of the goals we concede are poor errors I usually shout at our defence and tell them what I think of their defending. It gets me so angry.

A mix depending on the nature of the goal given away, most of the time, you see it coming with the current team and expect it, other times get angry at a player who clearly failed in his job. Other times, blame Jim O'Brien, clearly, his arm waving had distracted our defender and he could not focus on doing his job properly so it's Jims fault.

Used to get very angry many years ago but we conceded less then, I think the last few years have worn me down to the inevitable that at this level of league and standard of football, we are going to concede most games, I get more angry now about us not moving the ball forward quickly and watching our midfield always look backwards first as the option rather than forwards which unsettles a defence. Why pirouette when you can just go forward but it's Bartons signature move.

We had sideways Sammy and now we have his mate backwards Barton he slows the game to his pace every time he gets it.

Got to the point i just smile to myself and think here we go again.. no point getting really upset any more also feel like that sometimrs when we score which i really find sad in myself but i guess thats what you get through 48 years of mostly shite supporting Cov BUT I still turn up although not quite as regular as I once did

Usually stand there and say or think "for fuck's sake"...... to be honest been disappointed that many times over the years it's all I can muster..... you can usually see it coming anyway so it's more a feeling of dejection and acceptance, rather than anger nowadays.

For a particularly comical lapse in the defence I'd berate the player for being a 'fucking amateur' or similar...... had a lot of practice with these over the last two seasons, I remember our defending being particularly shocking during games at sixfields for some reason, which was a shame seeing as our attack was at times so scintillating.

Have never, ever, applauded an opposition goal. Except for perhaps a couple in the Benfica 7-2 friendly.
