Well that was an exciting end.

Will probably get lynched but Proschwitz motm

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - so please excuse any spelling or grammar errors :)
Hmm, not so sure. He falls over a lot for me and I also thought he wasn't quick thinking enough in the penalty box. Not the strongest either.

I was thinking we wouldn't have scored if we had played all night.

Deserved point

If we hadn't went asleep at the free kick we would have won
If we had a little more quality in the final third we would have won

We're almost there now, need another win to put it to bed for good but 1 or 2 more points could do it depending how other games pan out.

City 19 shots - 11 on target.

Oldham 2 shots - 1 on target.

Got the feeling that had we had Dominc Samuel still playing for us we would have won very easily,

At least we are having the shots, under Pressley we were going games without any on target!

Very, very true. And there is no way SP would have done what Mowbray did tonight and have 3 up front and bring on a winger for a defender etc.

As for the fans who turned up at the end / in the second half because of the jumper (was it a jumper?) I know how they feel. Went the last England game and got there at HT! Fecking traffic

Yeah somebody on a bridge. They should have let people out at Corley services (not sure how far down they werE)

Came home from that feeling that I had been entertained tonight. Can't believe the callers on CWR moaning how poor they thought it was, but watching football is all about opinions. That was one of the best league 1 games I've watched in a while barring the result and our finishing, IMO of course.

Can't undesrtand why everyone thought it was a poor game. It was exciting. Shame we didn't have anyone who can stick the ball in the net. I didn't think Jordan Willis could get any worse, but Jesus, he was crap again.

Can't see why Phillips isn't getting a game over Willis. Obviously much better going forward.

Burge 6
Willis 4
Pennington 7
Reda 8
Stokes 6
O'Brien 5
Barton 6
Fleck 5
Ward 6
Proswchitz 7
Nouble 5

It was annoying when Nouble was crossing it in; he should be in the box on the end of crosses!

If the choice is that type of football compared to SPs type I'll take TMs all day long,it was only our finishing that let us down.

The first caller we heard when we got back to the car said it was a poor game, and fair play to the Oldham fans who travelled all the way here on a COLD Coventry night?

We had to laugh at first we thought it may have been a rerun from earlier in the season.

We had a laugh as well. Really odd comment.

What a talent James Maddison is, he won't be with us for long. Has brilliant technical ability and when he fills out a bit he'll be a premier league player.

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray applauded the Sky Blue Army and said that tonight's match was 'the loudest I have heard the Coventry fans since I've been here'.

City drew 1-1 with Oldham Athletic, Reda Johnson gaining City a well-deserved point with a last minute header.

Mowbray was disappointed with gaining only a point, but praised his players after dominating virtually the whole game.

"That was by far the best I've seen us at home," he said. "It was the best home performance far and away.

"We created chances and pressurised Oldham, the fans really spurned them on and we dominated large parts.

"They had few chances in the 90 minutes and they scored from one of them, which is disappointing.

"The fans tonight made the best atmosphere at home since I've come here. 7,500 sounded like 27,500 at times.

"They almost sucked the ball into the net at the end. It just makes you think what it could be like if there was 27,500 here.

"We could make it daunting for a lot of teams, especially if you play like that where we pressured them so much.

"There is still lots to do however, I said that in the match day programme. But I'm pleased with how we managed to back them up and apply ourselves to attack and we got the goal in the end.

Mowbray was angry with the way City conceded their goal, a free kick routine that allowed Danny Philliskirk to divert the ball home.

He also feels that the point could be vital in City's quest to maintain their place in League One, with results elsewhere going the Sky Blues' way.

He continued: "We work so hard on defending free kicks, so for the way to concede like we did is absolutely ridiculous.

"Thankfully we got the equaliser. That point gained could be valuable, with results elsewhere helping. We can't stop now and we go to promoted Bristol City on Saturday hopeful."

Thee majority of those shots tho were from like 30 yards, or weak as hell. We had one maybe 2 clear opportunities all game, we are still lacking that final ball.
Willis needs serious work on his crossing, we also need some wingers not Barton on the right who has no clue what to do.

Couldn't have been that weak as their goalie struggled holding quite a few of those shots?

Coventry City defender Reda Johnson has admitted he's disappointed that he has not scored more goals for Coventry City despite netting six goals in 19 appearances.

Johnson added the sixth goal of that tally with a dramatic late header to secure a point in the 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic.

The Benin international praised the fans for helping City get the late equaliser that he feels the side deserved.

"It was a great finish to the game," Johnson said.

"We deserved the equaliser, they shot once and had one goal. I don't know how they scored, the player was on his own around six players so it is a stupid goal. After they didn't have a chance in the game so we were unlucky not to score before it got to the latter stages.

"We are at home, it has to become a fortress. Today and last Saturday we showed we are so much better than two months ago, the new manager has helped us on the training ground and we're all working hard.

"I was very aware of the atmosphere and I'm very pleased with the fans. I was thinking will they boo as we were 1-0 down? But they were here trying to help us and they helped us a lot and we were better with their support.

"The manager asked me to play up front for the last five minutes. I'm really happy with the goal, but my record is alright. I scored more for Sheffield Wednesday so I need to improve that."

That record has been affected by injuries and Johnson revealed that it has been a frustrating time on the sidelines.

Now he's back fit, Johnson wants to give his all to the club in the run-in and believes that City will stay up as they don't have to rely on other teams in the run-in.

He continued: "I will let you speak to the physio about it! But I'm very happy to be back. I've missed a lot of games, I give my all on the pitch. Against Rochdale back in January, after 45 minutes I got injured and we were 2-1 up then we drew 2-2 so it was a really frustrating day all round.

"When some fans say why are you injured, do they think I'm happy to be injured or not? I'm really happy to be back and I want to give my all to the fans who have supported me. I am a player that gives 100% and that will never change."

"I've just come out of the dressing room so I haven't seen the table but all we have to do is get results for ourselves and if we get results we will be OK."

It was that cross by Bouble that got us a point! That boy is amazing*

*Not really. He did feck all else during the game!

Glad to see you keeping the nickname going ;) very true. Only thing he did all night the greedy donkey. Battery went on about 75 minutes so actually had to watch the game rather than post on here. Was fun celebrating running down an entire empty row though! Almost won it at the death with the deflected effort!

I thought Prozzy had a half decent game and put himself about a bit and was unlucky not to score, however I would have liked to see him replaced by Martin for the last 10-15 mins with Redda thrown up top

@JohnsonReda: What about my scoring record for a defender. 1 goal every 3 games. Better than van persie this season lol.#wewillstayup #injuredbutuneedme

Burge 6 hardly had anything to. Couple of dodgy kicks a great throw out and should have come off his line that meant we conceded a corner
Willis 3 almost ever attack we have comes to and end cus of him. Not a right back
Pennington 5 harshly booked and not much to do
Reda 8- he is the man
Stokes 7
O'brien 6 still a headless chicken
Ward 6 quite game by his standard and poor corners
Fleck 7 our driving force
Barton 6 played ok
Nouble 6 does my head in
Proschwitz 7

Whih shots? Their goalie seemed to try and make himself look better than he is. He over exaggerated a few saves.
Yea off course he did gave us a few corners too but hay anything to make himself look good I suppose.

We could only (just) draw 1-1 at home to Oldham with Reda in the team so I don't get the logic of if this and that we would have been promotion contenders. We are an extremely mediocre team and most of the non-mediocre players are temporary loanees (Pennington, Ward). No matter how much you wish Reda could be permanently fit, he's never likely to be; he has a long history of being prone to injury. As I see it, the team needs a complete overhaul in every department. And SISU have said the club must be self-supporting, so you know what that means. We'll see what we are made of vs Bristol City.
