Things you would change or add for the club next season.

1) Close the telegraph stand and open blocks 15-24. Move the JSB area to block 23. That number blocks in the tesco stand probably holds about 8000 or so, meaning it would be ample room for us.

2) Promote Block 15-16 as a more formal singing area. Cheapest tickets should be in them two blocks meaning they will be full every week. Also, a more attractive price for under 21s as that seems to be the block full (of youngsters) during cheap ticket offers.

3) Open up a shop in town with the Wasp, promoting tickets for both clubs(heard this is what both Wycombe and Wasps did previously). Aim To strike a deal with them which offers a discount on each others tickets.

4) Advertising and matchday ticket sales at Cov Station. A lot of people will travel from town next season on the trains. I think it would be a decent idea to make it easy for people to buy tickets before getting to the Ricoh. Not only this, but you may attract a few to go to the game, knowing they could hop on a train and be at the Ricoh in 5 minutes . Advertising fixtures at both Cov and Nuneaton station could be a good idea.

5) Create truthful plan for the club to follow. Stop messing the fans about and get them back on your side. Either sort out a new stadium in the immediate future, or work with the Wasps to ensure both clubs get the best possible deals. Spend a reasonable amount of money to develop this squad and back Mowbray with his ideas.

Charge entry fee which would include free travel to and from the Ricoh, crazy money for beer and have a shop connected where you can sell merchandise. The only time I can really think of us doing anything unique and creative was the text-a-sub during the Andy thorn season, which was a disaster. What ever happened to that? Can you still do it?

I totally agree with the Supporters Club, great idea, but Supporters Clubs generally tend to be at the ground, don't they? We haven't got one. Even if we did buy a pub in the centre of the city and call it Coventry City Supporters Club Bar and Grill. Hardly anyone would go; NoPM, Cayman Islands, SISU, blah blah blah.

Nothing will happen whilst we are at the Ricoh. The best I think we can hope for is Mowbray stays and we manage to get some quick promotions.

And, I've always said, even if SISU left tomorrow I still think a new owner would look into a new stadium. Even Richardson from Wasps said a club needs it's own venue and year round revenue to thrive. They've got all the pie, we've got an empty plate.

I think the worst thing is seeing huge swathes of empty sky blue seats ( would be much worse if they were yellow and black however). It would be great to have City fans behind both goals. This would require closing off the upper parts of all stands except main stand where boxes etc are located. However the sticking point for seats behind the Tesco end goal would seem to rest with decisions from police and stadium safety people who seem reluctant to open this area to home fans after incidents when Preston fans were abused a few years ago. Having a greater concentration of our fans closer to the pitch with all areas open would get my vote.

No, get that, Torch. Problem is, we have no choice. We are at the Ricoh and if our club won't build a new stadium, then here we stay.

When I say make it work, I simply mean we have to try to make it work. We can't make anything happen without help from elsewhere (Wasps, CCC), but we have to try to make it work.

Even with food football we will not fill the stadium whilst we're in league one, unless people needed ticket Stubs for wembley/play offs, or we were going to be crowned champions.

Decent article. I'm not suggesting we should integrate clubs and sell half and half merchandise etc. What I'm trying to say is, that we could work just a little harder with the Wasps. No doubt they are attracting crowds we could only dream of right now, many of which probably have an association with CCFC.

Wasps would allow safe standing, but the FA wouldn't allow us to use it.

The problem is, the telegraph looks and sounds awful. It is the stand that has suffered the biggest drop in crowds.

I sat there for the first time in 7 years in the second half of the Swindon game and could see why anyone would want to sit there right now.

I used to love sitting behind the goal at football, but unfortunately I'd prefer to have an atmosphere.

Stadium Changes
Close all the corners (Blocks 4,5,14,15,25,26). Restrict seats above the steps in North and South stands.
Make North stand and existing Family area a kids go free area with a paying adult. Block access between North and East stand at Block 15 to stop transfers into East stand.
Increase kids pre match activities/entertainment, seek volunteers to help with specific skills.

From Sisu point of view.
- Try to extend existing deal with agreed escalations for Championship and Premier League. Also, maximise football related incomes where it becomes a win win for both Wasps and CCFC.
- Develope the grass area between the stadium and Tescos (Next to station) with all the things Sisu/fans say they need. Halls, office facilities, hotel ?, club shop, ticket office (tied into Ricoh system). Prematch Fanszone etc etc. CCC need to play their part in this.
- Close the Gallagher "Superstore".
- A lot of the corporate and television incomes are not available at league 1 level so a push is needed for the Championship to up our visibility.
- In such, keep Mowbray. Review the players, particularly as what I saw at Bristol has made me rethink on the ability of our players.
- Communicate better with the fans. Apologise for Northampton and wasted years. Drop the new stadium and JR nonsense saying they were misguided or make up any apologetic get out to save their face.
- Make a clear positive statement for the future. If necessary, say they are not 100% happy but will give it their best efforts.

Fans (relies on above)
- Take on board the Sisu apology, their statement for the future, forgive them and then get behind the team in every way they can. Encourage others, particularly the kids. Volunteer for Sisu initiatives.

The football club will also get more publicity locally and will re-gain their place as the town’s premier sports team. They won’t be fighting for column inches in the local newspaper and, perhaps crucially, nor will they be competing for ticket sales with the townsfolk. When Wasps first came to Wycombe, their success coincided with a downturn in fortunes for Wycombe who were relegated within the Football League for the first time in their history in 2004. Some fans drifted from watching a badly performing lower league football club to watching a rugby side that were at one time touted as the best club rugby side in the world. Some persevered with Wanderers, some ‘doubled up’ and supported both, some drifted and have stayed with Wasps and some moved from Wycombe to Wasps before giving up altogether (no doubt prompted by a downturn in Wasps’ fortunes and an upturn in ticket prices). The exact figures are, again, somewhat obscure, but there is little denying that from December onwards, Wycombe Wanderers being the only opportunity for local sports fans to watch professional sport, will be a good thing for the football club.

Personally, I only think fans will come back if we are top five. Even if we were playing well and top ten - with Mowbray and investment - then we would struggle to attract numbers on a regular basis. Yes, ok we can fill the place on "occasions", but not regularly.

Vicious circle, no fans, no investment, no investment, no fans.

That whole article was pretty depressing wasn't it torch. Thing is there's nothing in it you can't see happening to us, if anything we'll be worse off as we're tenants not landlord. You look at things like that article and the fate Stockport have suffered, the only other club I can think of who are in the same position as us - renting of a rugby club, and being a club that manages to stick around L1 looks like the brightest possible future for us.

A lot of suggestions to move forward seem to involve either dropping prices, simply not possible in our situation - its our only decent revenue stream, or starting new businesses from scratch hoping they make millions that can be diverted into the club. Even if you ignore the fact that its only a small number of new bussinesses who succeeded to that extent why would SISU, or any other owner in the future do this? They would have to invest money, and possibly lose it. If they wanted to run a sports bar or a car showroom they would and if it made money that would be the owners not ours. The sports bar idea is great but it only really works if its at the Ricoh, that either won't happen or will see a huge chuck of cash going to Wasps and not us. It illustrates exactly the problem we now have.
