sky blue seats to be replaced (7 Viewers)

If you don't like it then don't make childish comments (and antagonistic for which we have far too much on here). Otherwise just take it on the chin and try and comeback with something witty, far better than arguing.

As I've said before, should the colour of the seats really get people into such a state when there are far more pressing matters at CCFC than that? And what is my attitude then CCFC, seeing as I care more that there will be a CCFC rather than the colour of seats at a ground we don't own? Besides, was it not discussed that if we built a new stadium then the seats wouldn't be sky blue anyway?

Hypothetically speaking, if by some chance we were actually bought by Wasps and changed the colour of one of our kits but had a home we could actually get all revenues from and actually have a firm footing, would that re-brand be ok, seeing as we have changed the colour of our shirts before through our history.

How far do you go though, where do you stop? how much of your identity are you willing to lose in the chase of success?

Using your hypothetical situation of Wasps buying us, what if Wembley then became available for sale and Wasps decided to purchase it, sell the Ricoh and moved both clubs down there?
Now you may not be ok for that, but by allowing Wasps to take us over and rebrand us, changing our kits to black and yellow or whatever you've seemingly given them the ok to change our identity and set the slippery slope in motion.

Personally I'd be ok with Wasps buying us if it meant a sound financial future at the Ricoh, however I'd be massive opposed if they then tried to rebrand us or the seats, regardless of how well or bad things were going on the pitch.

It may not even be something as drastic as the scenario I mentioned above, what if they wanted to remove Coventry from the club name to increase there appeal to non coventry folks? What if they wanted to rebrand the badge and remove anything that relates to Coventry, how far do you go? What if they wanted to move the training ground/academy to another area for whatever reason. In 50 years we might be so stripped of our identity that we are no longer a team that represents the city, we'd just be a franchise that plays at the Ricoh. And it all started by a simple shirt/seat colour change.

A) we all know that there won't be a new stadium

B) if there was a new one, why wouldn't they put sky blue seats in? Are they more expensive?

Wasn't it discussed at the stadium forum meetings that they may change the seat colours of a new stadium?

Not being funny here, but if anyone says the will no longer go up if they change the seat colours, but did go to Northampton, isn't that being just a tad hypocritical.

'Yeah, yeah, the Northampton seats were in someone elses stadium and iwe knew t was only temporary' blah di blah!

Hmmmm...........

Changing the sky blue seats here should surely be okay shouldn't it, because isn't the Ricoh only temporary? We are going to have our own stadium.

Only me and stupot so far have said that we'd be done with the Ricoh if the seats changed an neither of us went to Northampton so don't even start that bullshit

So what do you want Stu? You say you won't go if Wasps rebrand the Ricoh. Yet you believe there will be no new stadium? Serious question btw :)

Also, I thought the reason we lost so many home games is cus the sky blue shirts blend into the seats?

So people went to Northampton but those seat colours were okay because it wasn't our stadium and was only temporary, but it's not okay at the Ricoh, which is also not our stadium and which is also only temporary?

Sorry, but that's tosh stu and to stop watching your team because of the colour of the seats? Well ..... sorry, but words fail me.

It's still CCFC, we are still the Sky Blues, it is still our team. Not going because they seats are not the right colour is daft beyond words I'm afraid.

If it was a long term permanent thing I probably wouldn't be able to go, at least not regularly. if I knew it was a temporary and we'd be getting our own new stadium I'd be able to stomach for probably however long it takes.

I wonder if SISU are waiting on building a stadium on Wasps changing the seat colours. Wasps would have to pay to have the old seats taken away. We would need seats. And most of them are hardly used  So SISU would be paid to take the seats needed for a stadium.

Absolute bullshit to suggest our new hypothetical stadium wouldn't have Sky Blue seats, are other colours seats cheaper than sky blue seats or was it something you made up an pulled out of your back side?

The recommendation from the stadium committee set up by Sisu is that Sky Blue seats are confusing the players?

On our current path, in fifty years time there will be no CCFC.

With regard to identity, if we went under with Sisu and say another team sprouted up from the ashes called say Coventry 1881 or Coventry Singers FC, would you follow that?

Look, re-brands happen all of the time from shirts to seats to badges, fans/people get over it after a while because it is still there club in the same way people still went to Sixfields. I just think that far too many people get into a flap because of something like seat colours or badges in a stadium (which is a bit daft when you think of how many advertising hoardings there are in a ground) when there are far more important matters like relegation, shit owners, no ground to call our own and no money to progess.

Ha ha. Funny excuse that was, never believed that anyway. :D

Re: your first question, I really don't know. My ideal scenario (least worst option) would be for us to stay, seats to stay sky blue and with an agreement for ccfc to buy half of ACL. But that door has been slammed shut.

Now, I can't see a long term future for us at the Ricoh, so at some point a new stadium will have to be built. Unless wasps fail, and we can get the Ricoh, and that's not going to happen.

Really didnt know that? it would be an absolute travesty if they built a new hypothetical stadium without sky blue seats.

Clearly you haven't been following the progress of the make believe stadium closely enough.

This has been said several times.

It's not all bad, if it means that Stupot don't go anymore then we don't have to keep reading all of them boring stats ;)

That's a bollocks excuse, is that fans or players that have made that comment?

I just find it incredibly humiliating, bad enough with wasps badges everywhere.

I find it incredibly humiliating what is being done to my football club. The colour of the seats are the least of our worries. Yes it doesn't look good. But neither does the future for our club.

If I don't go, that means I'll have more time at home to look up my very interesting and informative stats ;)

We just have to wait and see how it pans out I guess :( There is a deal to be done at the Ricoh IMO. But whether all parties get around a table is a different story....

TBH, I can't remember. I thought it came from Garlick or the Stadium Supporters Group or whatever they are called. I'm sure someone can dig it up....

The only deal to be done will be a matchday only rental agreement with limited access to matchday revenues. Richardson was quite clear, there will be no change in ownership of ACL.

Yes if I felt it represented the city.

I get what you are saying, I'm just saying its a dangerous path. How long till you remove everything that connects the club to the city

Well that would be the ideal scenario, seats stay sky blue and a deal is done which is good for us but I don't believe it is possible.

There won't be as nobody else wants it. Fisher has said enough that SISU don't want it.

If it's true that the seats are to be replaced then SISU need to offer a few quid for them for the new stadium - 12, 000 for the supporters to sit on and the rest as cladding all around the outside to make a beautiful sky blue mosaic effect that can be seen for miles.....whichever part of the country the stadium is built in.

Didn't wasps say this wasn't happening when they first moved?

Yep, the same time they were saying they wouldn't play on Saturdays because of CRFC and wouldn't be kicking us out of the dressing room.

Its almost like they were just saying what people would want to hear.

Tim Fisher should take note, next time he wants to bullshit, hand some flags out while he does it!

He is so clueless that he would hand out Wasps flags to us.
