PR & marketing should be one of the most important things for the club. First get TM on board then get the marketing right. Look at wasps, the marketing is great , they come to this city and get a few full houses due to PR work. we can all give the club ideas (free to kids ) etc etc Jimmy Hill did this and wasps are doing it, Come on sisu get your fingers out and do some positive things, you might just get some money back if you do. What Ideas can you give for marketing ? besides f off Sisu.

They have done their marketing. Could have at least painted the paste table sky blue though.

There are other aspects to consider, match day entertainment, get families up there early, do some keepie upies etc with the kids, have some prizes, have a club shop that has a range of things to buy, have a decent kit that people will want to wear, get the players to visit the schools, get the kids (or mums & dads) up at Ryton for some training sessions with the pro's.
Some times you have to spend a few quid to get a few quid. Coventry has disconnected with its football club, time to re-connect.

Paul Sackey visited my lads school today. Spent best part of 2 hours in school, all kids got a signed post card, full school assembly with Henekin cup on show. Class photos, Q & A in every class and apparently top bloke with time for everyone. This is called PR & connecting with a community. Amount of Coventry City players in the school in last 5 years .......... Correct 0!!

Wasps marketing is distinctly average. However, the local media act as their PR agent so they actually have very little to do.

Give season tickets in the South Stand to those who want to sit behind the goal, they have everyone's address ffs, then with the whole of the North Stand empty give away 2000 tickets to schools and clubs throughout C&W with a goody bag under the seats with pop and crisps, it's sitting there empty ffs

Updated by SISU bean counter (no room in accounts for investment/speculate to accumulate) ;)

Very true, matchday fan experience in this country is generally rubbish, Cov are especially bad....

Compared to the states its probably 20 years behind.

Edit: Cov's is non existent.

The wasps franchise has only just arrived so you would expect the big fanfare.
Thousands of free and cheap tickets, school visits are all par for the course in this case. Teams that have actual roots in an area , more often do not have to market themselves as much.
In 12 months time the freebies will disappear and the players will all be too busy to visit schools.
As for the pre match entertainment, its not that they want to bother but if people turn up 2 hours early and are willing to part with £4 for a pint then they won't complain.

You could easily make the argument that Wasps PR is ineffective as they are having to give out huge numbers of free and cheap tickets. We'll really see how good a job they've done in a few years time.

I suspect they will be hoping our fortunes don't improve, the worst thing that could happen to Wasps would be us to get back to the PL.

Yeh the extra people through the doors, eating, drinking spending money that ACL will see an increase in profits.....That would really hurt wasps. The City and area are big enough to support both clubs doing well. Wasps are connecting with the local community, CCFC are not, I hate to say it but SISU are being shown how to run a fan based sports club by a Rugby club.

We know there's a big chunk of support that is very fickle and will turn up for big games. We also know PL tickets are not cheap. I would suggest that the lost ticket revenue for Wasps when those fans decide to watch CCFC instead of Wasps will far outweigh any additional F&B revenues they make on CCFC PL games.

I'm not so sure, how much would the naming rights and advertising around the stadium be worth with a premier league side playing there? Would outstrip anything they have now you would expect.

Any bodies PR could be classified as great by giving away thousands of free tickets to get 'a few full houses'....

Might be unpopular suggesting them as an example, but MK Dons are very active with the things they put on, particularly family themed days, much more than just the 90 mins of football on show.

What about ALL cup games £ 10 pounds, league games £ 10 each if you bring a friend, teens free for the first 5 games, all this admin can be done lets get better attendances at least to start the season off, then if we do well we can look at other ideas, you have to give a little to gain a lot.

Pay for 2 games get the 3rd half price, attend 10 games get jpt game free, come on many ways to fill the place, just needs some positive thinking. its better to do, than do nothing. lets hear why we can not why we cant.
