So they need to get another 10 mp's from say labour to switch over or something?

If every MP votes, then you need 326 votes to pass any bills.

316 is probably close enough that, with absences from House of Commons, and with a number of minority parties with divided ideologies, you can govern alone.

Wouldn't have to be from Labour, if its that close the power of the minority parties such as UKIP increases as they can tip the balance. The other possibility is that they are a government that can't get anything done as they don't have enough seats to put anything through parliament. In that scenario there could be another election sooner rather than later.

So everybody else can turn round and say piss off to them?

Why is it bad news for Scotland?

I would imagine it depends how you're defining bad for Scotland and if you're Scottish or English! Would not be surprised to see the issue of independence rear up again if the exit poll is anywhere near accurate on the SNP performance.

Majority in reality is 323 with Sinn Fein not taking their seats.

If the exit poll is correct I reckon it will be a Tory DUP coalition.

What planet do these people live on?

Cuts to everything, NHS privatised, food banks, rich get richer poor get fucking poorer. We've got a lot of bloody selfish people in this country.

Do people who vote for the Tories keep quiet then? I don't know many people who voted for them, almost everyone voted Labour.

NHS spending has gone up, living standards have increased and the NHS isn't getting privatised. What I am a lot more concerned about is being represented by a party that actively wants to break up the UK.

So if the exit polls are correct, and Conservatives only need 10 others to back them, if the Lib Dems only get 10 seats, could they stay in bed together for another 5 years?

Conversely, it then only takes one MP to die for the majority to vanish.

I want to see somebody get really pissed off and start throwing haymakers as they announce the results.

Over half of the electorate, myself included, voted No to independence and then everyone elects the SNP anyway? Are people so thick as to think they've suddenly stopped wanting to break up the UK?

My wife works for the NHS. The department she works in can directly attribute a large increase in deaths over the term of this government to massive cuts to their budget and loss of approx 50% of front line staff. They found out a couple of months ago they were all losing their jobs as their service has been privatised.

I kept seeing Craig Tracey posters, would have loved to stick a picture of Craig David from Bo Selecta and put "is proper bo" underneath with a picture of a bird.

The Tory disdain for the public sector is hardly a secret, but the reality is that living standards are up, more people are employed and the economy is sound. Objectively speaking Cameron deserves another term and Miliband doesn't. I live in a part of the UK that receives more public expenditure than anywhere else in Britain and still the SNP wins by saying it's not enough, so sorry for being a bit blunt on this. I don't want an Old Etonian as PM either but if I'm choosing between the 2 of them it's a no brainer.

If the early results are anything to go by Lib Dems are fucked.

In this day and age is there not the technology so we can have the results a lot quicker?

Wouldn't want them quicker, part of the tension... although I'll be fucked at work tomorrow!

Anyway, would rather they checked then rushed and ended up with dimpled chads.
