Honestly. £249 is a good price, i can't believe that something that should be viewed as positive is causing so much negativity, who gives a damn what Bradford are or aren't paying?

No premium tickets make it even better value if your quick enough.
Premium seat and concession (as of tomorrow) makes my £191 season ticket a no brainer.
The Mrs has decided not to take hers up this year so another lucky person takes up a seat next to me ;)

It's just deflection pure and simple. There are many on SBT and on this thread who will be negative whatever the Club do.

does anyone know concession ST work?

my cousin is at uni and wants to buy a ST but he knows already he wont come back to coventry for weekday games and some weekends. he wnats to give the ST to his dad for those games. but will the club kick off if a 40 year old man tried to get in with a NUS concession ST? or is the holders right to give it to anyone he wants?

It certainly is a good price. But it would be an excellent price if there was a direct debit option for those that can't lay their hands on £249 in one go when most people are thinking of their main holidays.

Has anyone on here bought a season ticket yet? I know 90% of you lot are waiting for TM to sign but has anyone bought one regardless to who's in charge

What are the other 10% waiting for then?

The other 10% have signed if that and the rest are waiting to see the outcome of the manager. I was asking who has actually bought a season ticket doesn't matter about figures or percentages I'm just curious to how many on here have bought one. Have you?

Completely agree with that.

No and I won't be. All down to working shifts and not living near Coventry.

It's not down to ST holder they can only give it to someone in their category or an adult can give it to a concession for example but not the other way round as otherwise everyone would just buy concession ST. I don't think you can when you go into the ground I believe either a red or green light goes off of its green it means child or concession so the steward on the other side will look to see who comes through. That's how it used to be with the cards anyway o think. Personally I wouldn't risk it out of fear of losing the ST altogether. You could claim to be a mature student although they would want ID.

It's easy to update your ST though, especially on the card. I regularly do it on night matches as a my mum usually comes instead. You just pay the difference and then when you go through the turnstile it lights up green.

They never have anyone on the other side to check if the lights turn green or not the stewards don't care I had a ST last season and I can't remember any stewards on the other side at all. Unless they start stewards on each turnstile at every game they could stop you but I can't see that happening

They didn't have anybody on the other side because they weren't using the card system, sometimes the stewards outside would check but doubt the turnstile staff had a clue

I believe that's down to already giving someone the ticket this season but with the cards there's no one in the little cubicle thing to check so probably will see them back next season. They won't have stewards on every turnstile but it's pot luck isn't it. I'm going on info based on pre Northampton as obviously it was a book this season so could be completely wrong

The stewards checked for my ticket once this season outside the ground. Didn't bother me as I had an adult season ticket anyway and at that game they warned fans that they will be checking tickets before the game. It made the telegraph and various social media sites stating they were checking. Every other game was fine hardly seen any stewards until getting up to my seat. Unless they are briefed on watching the lights and asking to see tickets people should be fine

Yeah I think that was the one where kids were cheap wasn't it?

We have been City supporters for 50 years and ST holders (moved from Coventry Telegraph Stand to Main Stand when we came back to Ricoh, as allegedly they were closing the Telegraph stand then) but we are waiting to see what is happening with Mowbray before we do anything.

Can't believe I am saying that I am not automatically buying our STs the minute they go on sale, which has always been the case in the past (apart from Northampton) We are the people who never had a holiday or planned anything previously without consulting the fixture list first. Even when our daughter got married she had to have the wedding on a Friday, just in case we were playing on the Saturday (sad I know!), but just goes to show what is happening to even such dedicated CCFC supporters that we are being slowly ground down and not as committed as we once were. SISU take note!

CCFC Finance Director
This payment by direct debit .......

what the club says

Direct Debit & Finance
Is there a direct debit or finance option for Season Tickets this season?
Currently we cannot offer a finance option. We have applied for a Consumer Credit Licence, which we need to have to be able to offer a credit finance option.
How long will it take for the club to be granted a Consumer Credit Licence?
The application for a licence usually takes 8 – 12 weeks for a decision to be made by the regulatory bodies. However, a licence can generally take upto 6 months, while in some circumstances it can take 12 months.
Why does the club not currently have a Consumer Credit Licence?
The previous licence was held by Coventry City Football Club (Holdings) Limited, the previous operating company. As Otium Entertainment Group trading as Coventry City Football Club is now the operating company of the club, a new licence is required.
Why did the club not apply for a licence earlier?
Companies must complete an extensive application for the Consumer Credit Licence, which includes full operating accounts. As Otium Entertainment Group trading as Coventry City Football Club’s first year of trading accounts was submitted in February 2015, it was only after this date that we could apply for the licence.
Is there an alternative to the finance option in the meantime?
We have put our Match Packages on sale immediately for the first time- and with a reduced price Early Bird option similar to Season Tickets.
The match packages work out at £78 for adults for a 6 match package (just £13 per game) or £156 for adult for a 12 match package (£13 per game).

All fair enough, and the price of the ST is good put together with the match packages really not bad at all. I feel they are taking positive steps with this offer

Yes the FCA need to see the latest audited accounts (it doesn't on the form saying latest trading accounts and asks for forecasts as well) and a decision on a complete application the FCA say will be made within 6 mths. From memory I think that CCFC H (a) lapsed its CCL a few years ago but I might be mistaken (b) was struck off June 2014

there is this from FCA who regulate the Consumer Credit Licences www.fca.org.uk

The new legislation states that a credit agreement will be exempt if it meets all of the following criteria:
•it is repayable by no more than 12 instalments (e.g. monthly), within no more than 12 months
•it is a borrower-lender-supplier agreement (i.e. it finances the acquisition of specific goods or services)
•it is for a fixed amount
•it involves no charges or interest (e.g. there can be no admin fee) or is secured on land

The revised exemption came into force on 18 March 2015. It applies to credit agreements entered into or brokered on or after that date.

Firms who only enter into or who only broker agreements that meet the relevant criteria do not need to be authorised for consumer credit unless they carry on any other kind of credit-related regulated activity.

The FCA Guidance also says
If you apply for full permission you will need to provide management accounts, sources
of your capital, and any external funding.
If you apply for limited permission we will just ask you whether you will remain solvent
and you will need to provide evidence that you are if we ask.

So do they need to have a Consumer Credit Licence at all? Not all clubs do

Hmm maybe they want to charge an admin fee or interest? Thats the only thing I can see on that list.

So, we don't need a CCL?

Still don't see why we couldn't do it like Netflix subscription but send the tickets out each month, obviously it's a bit more hassle, but subscriptions tend to be less likely to be cancelled than STs not renewed.

(Yes I'm going to keep banging the subscription model drum, I think it's the future)

Yep, should do that but maybe just add a tenner on to cover the P and P for the season. If they can't charge an admin fee, just make the fixed price higher....

Or early bird price for cash sales £50 lower the rest by direct debit £25 lower. Everyone would have felt they were getting a bargain.

Nick asked this on twitter I think, club said its something they have done this before bit it would be much easier if they had the electronic cards for next season.

Would seem like shooting your own foot to not get something arranged after the great work they did with the pricing structure for the upcoming season.

If the price for buying on any sort of credit is more than a straight cash payment, however it is done, then it is deemed to be consumer credit and a licence is required. Even if the credit is applied through another company, the club would need the licence as they are then a credit broker rather than a credit supplier. Season tickets are £249, so to charge any more to pay by instalments would be deemed as credit.

The club seemed to be saying that a credit licence would be granted soon as a matter of course but they are being less than straightforward there. They are not automatic at all. There are requirements that they are fit and proper persons, (where have we heard that before?) and past history would be taken into account. The club have certainly held credit licences in the past soI am not sure why they no longer do so. Probably to do with the liquidation of the old company, I would guess.
