Tickets were £12 adults and £1 concessions for a play off semi.

I'm pretty certain we'd sell out for a game of this magnitude.

The bandwagon would need several wheel changes due to all the clambouring glory supporters jumping on board. Coventry harbours a huge amount of these creatures.

Thing is, we might get a sell out or near on for a play off game, fans would want their Stubbs for the final. We'd get to Wembley, everyone would clamber for tickets, but then by the first game in the championship, would we be selling out or near on again? I doubt it.

Oh for the chance to join the "bandwagon". Supporting Coventry City is not the choice of any glory hunter.

Think the 15 - 20K range would be sustainable. To get above that we'd have to create a buzz with some decent signings and have a good start to the season. Get to easter and be in the play off positions and its not unimaginable we'd be touching 30K. I guess its the plus side of going downhill for so long, any success is going to be magnified.

If you're a fan you can't jump on the bandwagon. The bandwagon jumpers are more often than not people out for the piss up or those that support Man Utd, Arsenal etc who have Coventry as their second team.

Saw an awful lot of spaces there tonight. 32,700 capacity. The away end looked full, so what happened?

We'd sell it out because we are so starved of success. Sheffield United have had play-off nights aplenty over the years.

Strange that Sheffield United got 27000 on their last game, but only 20k in the play offs!

I love these "bandwagon" comments.

A list of recent games that so called fans have joined the bandwagon......

Home League game to Gillingham
Home JPT northern final game to Crewe
Away game to Arsneal in the 4th round of the FA Cup

I am struggling to see where the glory is ?

There's a few chaps I know who used to be season ticket holders for about 20 years, but have only been to the odd game in the last five seasons or so. I guess they would go to a match like that too. Bandwagoner's?

You're taking the term glory hunting too literally. It's used to label people who only turn up for the big games. You picked the three biggest games in recent history. These may not be huge games on a global scale but relative to recent history they are the most glamorous outings the club have had.

To deny that these people exist is naive at best.

No, chaps are excluded.

thats my point. the 3 biggest games in recent history attracted crowds bigger than sheff utd in the play offs !

if anything, it shows that if the product on the pitch is anywhere near right, fans will turn up !

What all League 1 games? From memory I can remember a league game involving Sheffield United being on Sky once this season and that was the first game of the season against Bristol City.

I'm just saying for a game of this importance and for the tickets being so cheap then 20k is woeful in my opinion regardless of it being on TV.

I'm fairly certain that if we got 20k for a play off semi at home with tickets being cheap and then people used the excuse it was on TV we'd be laughed at by our own supporters and rival supporters

No question that it should be a sell out and we would sell out. But it wasn't and I can only think that Sky is the reason for this.

Chesterfield's stadium holds 10,500, I expect Preston would have sold their allocation but there were only 8,400 for the other play off - very poor from Chesterfield

Preston had a 2k allocation and only sold 1.5k.

Shocking from all sides in the play offs last night. Swindon only had just over 1k at Sheffield United

None of the teams have sold out for tomorrow's game and Monday's either. That's both home and away sections.

Seriously, we need to get out of this league as soon as possible.

thats where marketing should kick in, you have to buy an ST for next season to get a ticket, that would double season ticket sales, then they go on general release. There are enough people to sell 18k plus with the right marketing and ambition. But hey we have SISU so don't hold your breath, we'll be in a relegation battle not a play off one....

Sheffield United may not see this as quite the same as Cov fans - they have spent most of their time in this division near the top and haven't they been in a play off before ? They are by far and away the best supported club in this division and average almost 20,000 per match, so it's obvious to me this is not as big a deal to some of their supporters.

When were we last in a play off ? That's why we might get slightly more than them.
