Maddison wanted by United and Spurs (17 Viewers)

Why would they be interested before he's even done anything? He won't move until he has
proven himself here. He's made a handful of cameo appearances, no club will pay millions off the the back of that. Once he is a regular and has scored or assisted 15+ goals, the bids will come but not before.

Because they can see raw talent just as we can.

Are you his agent by any chance?
All the more reason to resist 1.7m now and sell him for 6m in 2years time.

We'll he says he wants to stay especially if it's under TM
I heard about this in February and it's fairly obvious normally to cash in to run the team for the next season
So do we need to or does our turnover allow us a season or two with him
Would a budget of £4M allow us to run the football side adequately?

What would be fair is that instead of selling these young players at the first chance so they can advance their careers without us why not hold onto them for a while longer so we stand a chance of advancing our club with them.

Let's show the same ambition as our starlets.

Because, as we saw with Wilson, he was a one season wonder, so get rid quick for £2.3 million as he'll be worth Jack next season.....

He's very David Beckhamesk. Has a great eye for a pass too.

Well I hope that we get to see him for another season or 2, hopefully develop with us, then he moves on.

Be nice to actually see our decent players play for more than 6months/a season for a change.

Exactly that. If he does develop well, tears this league a new A hole, we get promoted and then he tears a hole in the championship and a premier league team come's in for him at that point we might not only get something like proper money for him meaning some might actually get reinvested in the team, he'd also have paid his own way while he was here. Let him go now and that decade of investment won't have counted for anything other than SW being able to say we're cash flow positive.

There is every possibility we would have received less for Wilson had we retained him.

Career ending injury, loss of form, possibly.

But to make the step up to how Bournemouth have played this season, anyone could see the talent was always going to be there.

Edit: actually, the way SP performed this season, I do agree with you, but then maybe CW staying would of got us more goals, and we played better. I don't know, all ifs and buts, however I do believe we got a poor deal for him, unless we get a decent sell on clause and promotion clause.

What a load of shite. No wonder this board is getting worse with comments like that

Not so. Wilsons value has escalated because of form in the Championship.

He would have been valued on performances in a team that would still have struggled.

Look at his post Clarke record. If that was equated over the season it would have reduced value - also made worse given the far more defensive approach - why would he have been worth more in a bottom 6 league one team?

There's every possibility we wouldn't have been in a relegation battle and been pushing for the play off place instead because not only would we have not tried replaced him with a bunch of has been pre-Madonnas we could have used the budget we used trying to replace him where it was really needed meaning we had a better squad of players capable of greater things, increasing income stream's and benefiting the club multiple times. Not forgetting we'd probably have then also have got a higher transfer fee.

Still, SW got to say we're cash flow positive. Every cloud and all that.

Add to that another year less on his contract, therefore cheaper to buyout.

He was injured for a large part of the season after Clarke left but was getting back into form once he regained match fitness towards the end of the season so once again you're talking shit.

Sorry that's rubbish. Even with Saint Carl Moussa etc. his goals dried up as soon as Clarke left. There is no way we'd have been challenging for promotion. Also the tactics of playing a narrow midfield restricted the supply to the strikers. He'd have constantly had to play far deeper to see any possession.

Also you seem to think players will just accept rejection of an offer than gives huge increases in salary with no effect on their motivation. That is another significant factor.

We struggled because we got rid of our best players and replaced with shite. Wilson is improving year on year. Look at the team when wilson was banging goals in. Baker, moussa, Christie and so on. Class players who got us of our seats when they got the ball. He went to a team who played similar football as we did 2 seasons ago.

Your beloved owners fucked us up but you can't see it or just trolling, either way you make yourself look a plank

Are you sure about that? Do you want to check the stats? Tell me how many goals he scored in the last 8 matches of the season?

2.

But he returned from injury against Shrewsbury, game 32.

So in the remaining 14 games, he scored 7.

So its only about the last touch before it goes in the back of the net. I always thought he had more to his game than that. What were the rest of his stats like? Was he still contributing more than anyone else in the team? You've also conveniently forgotten that mouse went AWOL, sorry was injured for the end of the season. How many of those last eight games did FM play in? How many of those last eight games did Wilson have to make up the difference of not having FM there?

Once again you're talking shit.

Clubs look at potential and attributes of the individual, they do not care where the club finish in any league..They don't compare records with others they either they see something or find better..If we had of held onto him its also not what he is worth to others it become how much is he worth to you as a club,,2.3 and 3 players was our value..

For me that was cheap for a kid who shown more ability and attributes to play higher..

So what did you mean when you said he was finding his form again towards the end of the season?

Wouldn't that have made him our top scorer this season?

I'm not sure. Probably.

I do see Grendel's point, he could have been restricted in this poor squad this season, and therefore not hit form.

However, a 1 in 2 ratio in the last 14 games when we had nothing to play for, and he'd been injured for 3 months, disproves Grendel's post Clarke point.

Wilson and Maddison are stand out players because of what they have in regards to attributes,, Spurs are sniffing around and have been all season..The player knows it but he wants to stay and play football, his time will come soon enough when a decision will be made on his future.. What is he worth to us? is more important than what other value him at..

Lets hope SW doesn't get a brain fart again with the idea that quantity is worth more than quality..

There's also a lot to be said for the psychology of being a bright young thing, bursting onto the scene in his first full season and scoring at will... before he gets pigeon-holed.

Not sure we're giving enough credit to Bournemouth for them being the right club and right coaching staff to move him forward, either.

lets be honest james maddison is a very talented young man if a premier lge club offers a big fee and also him with a life changing contract he will go,were ccfc have to be cute is to agree the best possible deal for example a 1/2 year loan back and also huge caveats in contract appearance related international etc also decent loans not the garbage Bournemouth sent us.
in all this we need mowbray signed asap

He had 14 games after coming back from being out for 3 months, and scored 7.

What happened when Moussa no longer played?
