its clear council did a lot of things wrong and i hope these 2 individuals get punished for that.

as long as it dont effect ccfc transfer budget then im all for it.

even if you hate sisu you must understand that council did alot of stuff wrong, and justice must be done!

If the two faced council are found to have done something wrong then yes they should be dealt with accordingly. No one is above the law as a few members of Parliament found out a few years ago.

Wasps must have been like a wet dream for the council... they were handed a way out and a way to indulge all that spite. It's a shame they could't see the bigger picture and consider our club's future, beyond SISU and any petty vindictiveness.

CCC are not and never were whiter than white in this,, but what you have to understand they were faced with 2 different situations and were dealing with 2 different parties.. 1 Party, had broke an agreement, left the city and was taking the CCC through endless court cases. The other was a business that had meetings, had never disclosed minutes, acted properly and professionally while waiting the CCC decision.

In the end the decision came down to who they trusted and felt comfortable with to take over the Ricoh and the surrounding area and make progress with.. You have to take off the sky blue specs and know this is business nothing more nothing less. They had no trust or confidence in Sisu controlling anything to do with the city..

Now because you don't agree with them selling to Wasps (what cov fan does) should never stop you from understanding 1 party had the chance and more time than any other to buy the Ricoh in a fair and business like manner.. Sisu had time, to build bridges, trust and even friendship and take this club forward owning the ground or part of it.. Instead they went on a promotion push for 1 season without setting a plan if it failed,, buying the Ricoh was on a plan but only if promotion was gained...From that day of failure they have wanted money back and will kill this club to gain either a moral victory or financial..

Sisu now need to build a new ground , buy an existing one that is not being used or carry on regardless at the Ricoh, it must be very hard for them to watch Wasps be so active and fan friendly but that's life..

Not too sure of the issue with it to be honest, I very much doubt anybody thinks that if found wrong then time will be rewound and CCFC will be given the stadium and we will be in the Premier League in 2 years.

I'd be happy to see any sort of investigation into any party involved going back to HR to reveal the actual goings on.

I dont prefer CCC, over Sisu or Wasps,, i just think CCC were pushed very hard into a corner and had to make a decision that was hated by 100% of the fans of the club and rightly so.. My opinion is the CCC stated they would sell, they made a business decision on two parties we know of and although all may have been the same in structure,, were acting differently when it came down to buying the stadium.. 1 wanted by going to court and 1 wanted it by paying the amount asked and paying back, which they now have.. So although i don't like the idea of Wasps ,, nobody can say they haven't stuck to an agreement they made...

You maybe right,, but what other option did the CCC have,, hold onto it hoping Sisu would sell the club, or sell to a party acting and following up with actions..I don't like any party involved , trust me ,, but i can't understand why Sisu while holding cards at the table just didn't play fair ball...Because Wasps have proved that dealing the right way has helped them get what they want decades earlier than they thought..

Hmm... I think CCC, for whatever reason, didn't want to sell even half to SISU but when Wasps came along it was 'Hey, have the lot and have it cheap, that'll learn those SISU bastards'

It was good for business and the city now has 'top class rugby'.

Saying that, surely we should be looking at buying Sixfields and moving back? It would be good for business and even boost the local economy!

Who cares if there's already a football team there. We can entice the locals along with free tickets and they'll be able to watch higher level football. Everyone's a winner! Seeing how some have embraced Wasps moving to Coventry, i'm sure we can expect the same from the locals in Northampton too?

In your opinion. Even if you took a purely financial view, then if we lose CCFC in Coventry as the result of selling to Wasps, then it's going to cost the city more than it gains.

If you move beyond the purely financial and look at the moral obligations of the council, then as a council tax payer and voter I'm pretty certain that the council haven't taken the right decision.

If it wasn't so serious it would be comical. You can barely buy a ream of paper in the public sector without getting comparative quotes to ensure you're getting the best value for the taxpayer yet you can sell off a stadium in secret on the cheap and nobody is in the slightest bit concerned.

There is zero evidence to suggest an impact on the ratepayer at all.

Whatever effect if positive or negative would be marginal to say the least. It would have no impact on taxation as that is centrally controlled and hardly any impact on public services especially as we were originally told the money was ring fenced.

Politicians are supposed to operate with transparency and openness. Not make decisions in back room meetings and with a veil of secrecy.

IMO the council justified it to themselves on the basis that
- prevented stadium being a white elephant and the proposed political embarrassment as well as get the loan paid plus money for their share of ACL
- continual negotiations with SISU would end, SISU would now have to deal with WASPS
- economic benefit to City with big rugby crowds, element of truth but somewhat overstated don't think many rugger buggers are going into the pubs and clubs on the Foleshill Rd
- lastly revenge on SISU, can you imagine the pleasure CCC got in stitching up SISU
- as for CCFC, no longer their problem, had SISU got the stadium no evidence to suggest that the club would benefit (NB this is just me guessing what CCC were thinking) probably tied the club into a long lease with a high rental, WASPS may be reasonable

Do you seriously not see the duplicity here? SISU's actions led directly to the councils actions. So when you say the councils actions will be felt for a long time after SISU leave you're wrong. The correct statement is SISU's and the councils actions will be felt for a long time after SISU leave.

I'll also remind you that there were plenty of posters on here, myself included saying when we left the Ricoh something like what has happened could happen while being ridiculed by posters like you who were salivating waiting for the JR and the fabled smoking gun while declaring that SISU were the only show in town.

One day you may well wake up and start listening to the posters you enjoy ridiculing while believing you are of superior intelligence but I doubt it.
