No-one has ever produced any figures or details. We have had a touched up plan which was originally for someone else as a suggestion. Has every other club in the country alienated it's fan base, it's home town council and just about everyone it has done business with ( except certain lawyers )? Has every other club scaled down and moved outside it's original base town or city? Does every other club have the competion from other modern local stadiums or venues as e.g. NEC and the Ricoh? Does every other club plan a stadium at the lowest point in their history and announce that the details will be announced in three weeks whilst not even having a potential site or even having a preliminary meeting to discuss planning permission? And so on and so on.... I think your comparison to other clubs is not a fair one and I don't think for a moment that a new stadium at the present time is a good option. The only reasons for getting involved in a new build would be 1. Wasps throw us out or rip us off or 2. We become amazingly successful and generate enough ticket sales to pay for it. I would try and extend the Wasps deal as long as possible whilst putting the stadium on hold ( but still keeping an eye on the availability of sites ) until 1. or 2. happens.

Posted more than 7 hours ago now, all there's really been since is some hilarious hypothetical's about Narniastad from U-turn Dave.

Again. Why didn't Sisu bid more than Wasps for a world class stadium/exhibition/leisure facility that they themselves had successfully devalued?

Because SISU didn't want the Ricoh. It doesn't make enough money.

Keep up Ron ;)

They had already been told it would not be sold to them.

They had already been told it would not be sold to them.

Did they ever test that theory? No, I didn't think so. Why not? It seems to me testing that theory would have been a huge PR win for SISU if they had have tabled a bid similar to Wasps bid with an extended lease for the councils share. It also would have protected the Ricoh from Wasps bid. The council would have had difficulty explaining why they turned down a similar bid from the club before excepting the Wasps bid. So why didn't they do it? My guess would be they couldn't run the risk of the council excepting the bid.

All SISU have done is push the Ricoh further away not only with their rhetoric but there actions. They made it so easy for the council and Higgs to sell it on it's amazing they didn't sell the moment the ground share was announced at Sixfields and then couple that with all the we've moved on and are building anew talk it's even more amazing.

You're promoting a theory at the moment that the deal for Wasps to take over the Ricoh started 2 years ago so perhaps you can explain why the council didn't do the deal a year earlier?

They didn't ever bid for the councils half so I can't see how that's possible.

They bid more for half of it, the council's half wasn't for sale was it?

Too scared that Sisu would just use ownership of the Ricoh to raise money against it and give themselves a load of money.

Luckily that never happened when Wasps bought it.

Well seeing as the council sold its half it clearly was.

I'm not promoting any theory. Just quoting 3 sources (2 wasps fans and the CRFC chairman) that suggest conversations took place.

Again, though, your inability to read properly defeats you. The theory they suggest isn't that at all.

So you don't believe what's written in the blog?

£46M sounds a snip compared to £30M for a stadium with half the capacity, half the facilities no rail link and who knows what that passes for road links built in the wilderness. I wonder if SISU will make a bid for it?

Sounds a bit like the time Gidney said we should pay £24m for half a share in ACL.....

I think it shows that SISU's plan of distressing ACL worked, but they got too greedy and wanted it for even less than Wasps were willing to pay.

It's unlikely the valuer has got his figure wildly wrong.

What valuer - didn't ACL's own experts say ACL was only worth around £5m?

Certainly said the 5.5m for 50% was overpriced.
... and advised Higgs to sell at whatever cash they could get.

Devastated.

Why do I have an image of two speech bubbles from both the young gentlemen pictured with the words "don't think much of yours!" :D

Do we know if that valuation was done before the rent boycott or during it?

During - before we were pushed into administration and out of the stadium. Sometimes in September/October 2012.

Thanks, so it could have taken account of the rent boycott, when coming up with that figure.

That depends. Before Wasps did the deal it was apparently too much because it was a worthless white elephant. Since they did the deal it's a steal.

Many financial forums have poured scorn on the valuation due to its conditions.
