Never gonna happen Torch. Incompetent owners won't have any pens in the office so he won't be able to sign on the dotted line. He'll then go and manage someone like Barnsley to European glory within 5 years and we'll be left still trying to sign Eric Black whilst missing out on Joe Cole on loan.

And it's not Thursday.

It's the word expected that worries me. Hopefully it won't be but will wait and see.

Just wondering... what deals and agreements that are being offered to Mowbray, why was it not offered to Mark Robins at the time he left us for Huddersfield?

I do remember Mark Robins saying that he was not getting any assurances from the club regarding its future. What has changed???

Hopefully good news is about to be confirmed then. I can not think there will be many (any?) fans unhappy with him signing up. That's only one of many things that need to happen though isn't it?

I wonder how big a spike we will get on ST sales and whether the momentum will be maintained. isn't the target something like 6000?

Surely as soon as he's signed we'll see the new kit and they'll ramp up the advertising of STs again as well.

For the first time in as long as I can remember I am feeling a little optimistic about the future.

Roll on August 8th.

Amazing that CET can take the same story and print it as a new one every day! He is still waiting for the same assurances as he was last week... so until he has signed he hasn't received them :)

As for some of the laughable reader comments, "I seriously hope that there are no clauses inserted which allow him to jump ship as soon as a club in a higher league comes calling." Yeah... it's called a fucking contract. Not worth the paper it is written on if the person who signs it wants out...

At the time I guess he wanted assurances we were staying in Coventry.

One "Right" by no means makes up for the multitudes of "Wrongs" and the biggest wrong they made was by moving my team out of the City boundaries.(If or when) it ever happens again will be the final insult to all CCFC fans, even though some will follow like lost sheep.

Coventry Telegraph said:
“It was a considered decision,” said Robins, who alluded to the current rent dispute between the club and Arena Coventry Ltd – the owners of the Ricoh Arena.
“I spoke to the owner, I sought assurances and didn’t get any assurances from the owner of Coventry,” he said as he was unveiled today as the Terrier’s fifth manager in as many years.
“I absolutely wish them all the best, they work their socks off and as I’ve said before that club needs support from Coventry City Council.
“That led to a decision to want to speak with Huddersfield and that’s how the decision has been arrived at.”
When pressed about the nature of the assurances he wanted from Coventry, Robins added: “I won’t go into specific detail.
“There are well-documented things about what’s happening down at Coventry. It is a magnificent club. Potentially huge.
“But it needs support to build revenue streams and help from the council.” Robins added: “It’s been the most difficult professional decision I’ve ever had to make, but I feel it’s absolutely the right decision.”

It's a thread about Mowbray, please try and keep it to that. There's other threads descending into this. And no, I'm not disagreeing with you.

Laughable in what sense? Do you honestly believe that Mowbray isn't wary of SISU and won't insist on having a get out clause if they aren't true to their word? Irrespective of the fact that my day job tends to involve studying contractual obligations and loopholes, have you never played football manager?!

The hard I truth is having watched the Crewe game with Mowbray in charge, the squad is nowhere up to the standard required to actually compete at the right end of the table and so if all this is true this early appointment will give him plenty of valuable time to get to work with his hatchet in one hand and his scouts on the other ! I expect us to have a much better keeper, central defence, attacking midfielder and strikeforce come August !!

The ones before had all been told, didn't see the point with the ones after as I'd already said.

Can someone list the players who played against Crewe against the still in contract list?

Bore off ffs.

As for Mowbray fingers crossed this is the beginning of the rise to the top. I know it's unlikely, but we live in hope.

I would rather "there's been no further update since last week", than the CET spinning last weeks article into a new story that may or may not happen...

I agree with what you're saying in that sense, just wasn't sure why you were having a dig at the 'contractual loophole' query. The CT are beginning to piss me off with the 'we understand' or 'our sources' without actually revealing any names or quotes. They've really put themselves out there with the 'today is the day' article. I can't imagine it will be done much later than 6pm as they've had all day especially if he is coming down from up north (technically, they've had the past 2 weeks).

Oh jeez. Don't cry mate. I'm sorry - EVERYONE not posting about the related thread topic, please don't! Keep to the subject etc etc etc

Better?

Hey..Nomark :)........Your surname isn't Labotwat is it? I see you haven't read my post from last week then? You must have read it..you know..the one about some that will forgive SISU anything?...Yes, if Mowbray signs it's a step in the right direction for the fans, but SISU have got 7.5 years worth of backtracking steps to satisfy me and thousands upon thousands of other CCFC fans.....Oh yes ....Bore off yourself ;)....whatever that means.

Mowbray is a different class from Robins...he knows exactly what he wants, and won't sign till he gets it...what would be the point. He clearly has ambitions for us...it's all or nothing for him I reckon. Robins probably just hoped things would get better...wrong!
